  1. Wow, seriously?!? the guns are still the same and the conversion work hasnt changed. nothing a vise, drill, punch and hammer cant handle... I am less concerned about screwing up a $300-$450 gun than a gun for which I paid nearly $1000. But, that is just me. Thanks, for the direction. I appreciate it. I will check out Cadiz, and INGO. Thanks, again.
  2. I know that many on here do their own conversions. I am considering that, but would prefer to have it done correctly/professionally. If my gun had been purchased for the 2007-2010 prices, maybe I would be more inclined. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I still have under a grand in it, which includes a nice ATI pistol grip and stock, extra high-cap mags, etc. However, it is still in the "sporter" config. Does anyone have knowledge of a reputable gunsmith, specifically qualified to do great work on Saigas, in the northern Indiana area...Indy would be fine too? I think that I could do an
  3. Thanks, for responses and welcomes. Regarding under-gassed, I confirmed that I have three open ports. Is it possible, as the after-market plug producers claim, that my plug is not properly oriented in relation to the ports themselves? My gun cycles everything that I have put through it, except the low velocity Winchester stuff. I guess I could just stay away from the Winchester stuff. I am just exploring options that might allow me to be more picky than my weapon actually is.
  4. If so, has it actually made a difference in cycling cheap/low brass ammo? They are not expensive, but $25 is $25, so I was hoping to hear from a few folks with experience. Any other plugs that work better?
  5. Hey! I just bought my Saiga 12 yesterday. With the factory mag it functions like a $2500 gun. The two Surefire 12 rounders both failed to pop the rounds up to feed, and then broke within 10 rounds. They broke in the exact same spot, right at the front lip. Anyway, I like the 12 so much, I was considering going back and picking up the .410. My gun shop has one in for $475. Apparently, that is a pretty fair price, considering this thread. Does the .410 function just as well as the 12?
