  1. What would cause shell separation? Was this a manufacturing defect from the start or has age caused this? If I had to guess I would say these are from the 70's or 80's. Igot these with a bunch of other shells from the same person of the same time and all the other brands have performed well. It is just these Federal #6 shells that are bad. You don't see to many that look like brass like this anymore. They do fire fine but just separate after fireing. This is all I have left so no big loss either way.
  2. The bolt locks back on both ok. I can't think of anything that could be wrong with the gun as all of my 5 rounders and MAG B 10 rounder perform flawlessly. The problem has been narrowed down to MAG A. and looking at the difference between the 2, especially the height of the follower and the extra space between the BHO and the top of the lips makes me wonder. The extra space may just be enough to interfere with the bolt enough when closed to be causing misfire. I don't know, Ill just have to keep playing with it until I can get it to work. If the Gen 2 10 rounders are the real deal I'll ju
  3. I bought these 2 10 round MKA mags at the same time a few years back. Notice how different they are. I mean a lot different. Mag B runs like a champ, never a problem. Mag A is very problematic, sometimes it will load ok but when the hammer hits the pin I get nothing. You can see that the distance between the top of the bolt hold open and the top of the lips varies quite a bit. This in turn presents the follower higher in MAG B. Also when thee follower is pushed down on MAG B it flows smooth and free. When the follower is pushed down on MAG A it seems to bind and not flow as smooth. I'm
  4. It is one thing to push that junk off on civilian consumers but willingly knowing about such defects and still selling to those who depend on it for their very life. Don't get much lower that that. I have never owned an Eotech and most certainly never will. For shame.
  5. Good idea. If things get real bad I could trade them for a rat burger. I can't help but think of the Road Warrior where Max comes across some old shells for his sawed off double barrel and some still fire while most just go fizzle…lol
  6. I'm late to the party here, can someone briefly summarize for me exactly what the problem was.
  7. But veering off topic is what makes general discussion so interesting. Just go with the flow. " Ideas give life to new ideas." If we want to stay on topic we would go to the topic specific categories. Heck, all my posts veer off topic…and I embrace it…even welcome it.
  8. Well there you go, keep your ideas and opinions to yourself and you won't have anything to worry about….. problem solved.
  9. Oh well, in that case…after I got tired of chewing bark I would hunt and eat someone like yourself before resorting to rat. A tender young thing like yourself ought to be mighty tasty….
  10. are you suggesting that I should plan on raising rats in the near future. Never say never I guess. New Yorker's should never worry about going hungry, I believe the rat to human ratio is like 10,000 to one. Shit , they have the countrys largest emergency food reserve and don't even appreciate it.
  11. Thank goodness we live in a country where it's very hard to go hungry. Was'nt the USA rated the most obese country in the world. You can go dumpster diving at any given moment and find a better meal than rat. Personally, if I was ever so hungry to where I need to eat rat, I would chew on bark first.
  12. Is there a certain season for squirrel? I notice they tend to put on quite a bit more weight in the winter.
  13. We are hopeful for T&N to come through with a affordable reliable quality drum design for the MKA. They are after all the leading edge in MKA parts & design. And great people to deal with as well. I know making a reliable drum is a daunting task, as it seems the more capacity you want to run through the mag fed shotguns the more you are likely to encounter failures. I have never had one single problem ever with any of my 5 round MKA mags but have had a few with the 10 rounders. I haven't tried the GEN2 10 rounders yet but have heard good things about them so far.
  14. Thanks for the advice, but we were talking about shooting empty shells not live rounds.
  15. My 22's are my least shot guns. I know..probably the most shot by others. But I just can't get excited about shooting my 22 anymore. I need something with a bit more bang and bump. 9mm is about as low as I care to go. I think shooting the 50BMG ruined the 22 experience for me. 22 just seems like a toy gun to me.
  16. These squirrels around my cabin are fat and huge, I should plunk me one of those critters and try me some squirrel sometime. I've just always been a deer, elk, sheep, pheasant, duck, turkey man myself.
  17. i've got a bunch of old 12g ammo that keeps separating and lodging the plastic in the barrel. I'm not going to shoot anymore of it but what do you think I should do with it. Should I just throw it away or should I salvage the powder and shot for reloading. It is old Federal Duck & Pheasant #6
  18. Smoke Cure. Will last a long time. If it is posted in General Discussion, you can guarantee it will stray from original topic…. and…….. weren't rats responsible for the largest plague in history which killed millions of people. Disease carrying/infested rodents Thanks, but I will pass on rat meat. I'll eat horse meat even dog before rat.
