Can't remove handguard
98bird replied to 98bird's topic in Conversions and Modifications for the Saiga firearms
Hey thanks guys. I'm going to try this later (after I do the Thanksgiving buziness). BTW, my Saiga doesn't have that screw at the bottom of the handguard. There's a hole there, but never tapped into. -
Can't remove handguard

Please help. I'm having trouble removing the handguard on a Saiga 7.62x39mm rifle. There are no screws that attaches it. There's only a sling screw (that I took off) but nothing came lose. Thanks -

Ah thanks dude. That makes sense. So what is the next 3 easiest conversion parts.....can you go from easiest first? I really don't want to do the trigger group -
I found some cool videos by some guy named rjs3484 who videotaped the conversion process of his Saiga 7.62x39mm rifle to be 922R compliant. Basically, he talks through his process of doing th conversion. So all credit goes to rjs3484 This should really help out a newbie like me and I thought I'd pass it along. It's uploaded to Rapidshare.com for fast downloading. They are .AVI files. Files are listed in order from Step 0 - 6 (7 video files). In case you don't have an .AVI player, here is the site for a free one: www.videolan.org (or direct to the download lin

So if I want to go with the EASIEST route possible for 922R Compliance (ie. not messing with the trigger group, etc) with a Saiga 7.62x39mm, would this be ok? From the Tapco catalogue: http://www.tapco.com/catalog.aspx?id=234 [1] 009.99 AK Slant Muzzle Brake (ak0684) [1] 049.99 AK Folding Stock (stk06150) [1] 010.99 AK Original Style Pistol Grip (stk06201) [1] 029.99 AK Galil Style Handguard (stk06310) [3] 019.99 AK 30 rnd mag (mag0637) Thanks in advance. -
is there a good and detailed post on the conversion of this rifle to legally accept high cap mags? i've been searching but just getting random info. it's a shame that there's no sticky for this.
