  1. you guys rock! thanks so much. the old Rio 2.75 00 Buck shells that are actually 3.00 don't feed for S*** in the aftermarket mags and drums (as I am sure you know)...so the factory mags are great. I have a major investment in those RIO shells. (only $99 for 250 now) thanks again!
  2. thanks for the tip Vance...I am not finding that thread (not finding a very robust search capability either though)...if you know exactly where you saw it I'd love you to guide me. thanks!
  3. Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows where to a get a few more of the IZHMASH factory 8 round magazines. Of course Saiga-12.com is out now as the gun run for Saiga begins. I don't see any on Gunbroker. I can get 5 rounders easy enuf but I need some 8 rounders. Any ideas are appreicated! Thanks everyone.
  4. I am shouldering it to fire it. It worked great last weekend with the magnum loads. I have just installed the new CSS puck and plug and front spring and cleaned it up. I only put grease on the bolt rails. Looking forward to shooting it with my 20 rd drum with the new gas accessories.
  5. I think I will just buy one of the cheap ones from CSS or Saiga site and see what happens...$10 won't break the bank right? I did install the CSS Saiga reliability kit and will see how that works at the range this weekend. Thanks for jumping in Goose.
  6. Hey gang, any chance that adding the Shock Buffer in the Saiga-12 will add to low brass cycling issues? I am working through not being able to cycle the birdshot...I thought this might make it even tougher by absorbing some portion of the energy that will actually help avoid FTEs. thoughts?
  7. A friend of mine had a thought - try some game loads with 1 ounce + of powder - shot irrelevant - that will break the Saiga in well at a lower cost than the 00 Buck or slugs. He reloads a lot of 2.75 length shells with extra powder for higher speeds. He tries to exceed 1300 fps. He thought this might get the job done for me. Is this a viable affordable option? I might have him ship me a couple dozen. I talked to K-Var and FIME to let them know it wasn't working as sold - of course they promised it would work on #1 and #2. They are salesman after all. I got mine all taken down and gre
  8. Update. Got the puck out and I see the 4 very small holes inside the one main hole oriented in a diamond shape as HammerOG said above.
  9. Got the puck out...I only see the ONE port. If I pull back the slide to look in farther with my flashlight snake I dont see any others. What am I missing?
  10. I was watching the Saiga-12 port drilling vids I found...they only touch upon the first port that sits right below the puck. Are the others (easily) accessible? Shopping for brass 00 now to blast through it on #1.
  11. OK. Great suggestions guys. I will pick up some non-tactical, high recoil and blast away. I will keep ya'll posted. thanks!
  12. OK. Thanks Guys. Couple follow-ups: is 00 Brass sufficient? What is the cheapest shell I could use to be effective in breaking the gun in? If the break in exercise doesn't work I will probably get KVAR in the loop as they need to fix it. Have them drill the ports. DO you know of a good video on YouTube (or elsewhere) that shows the cleaning of the ports (and drilling of them)? THANKS...and thanks for the welcome. I am fired up about the whole Saiga-12 thing...
  13. Guys. I have the "My Saiga-12 isn't cycling" blues real bad. Tell me it's "operator error" and not a gun problem. I am in StovePipe Central and I need help! Here is the scoop. I have a new Saiga-12 (Upgraded by K-VAR Las Vegas. Imported by FIME). I went to the range with my 5 round mag and 10 and 12 round SGM magazines (both very difficult to get properly attached to the receiver by the way). Tried some Winchester Target Birdshot (8) and Federal Target (7.5). Both 2 3/4. The piston setting is on "2" as specified by user manual and all the forums and YouTube vids. I had terrible res
  14. The screws came right out. K-Var is known for not doing that when they strip a component (they did the upgrades in Las Vegas for 922r compliance).
  15. Thanks everyone. I got it out. Rubber mallet and wooden dowel with a piece of cardboard just to keep the stock from gettin' scratched. The gun looks great with the ATI Stock on it. Hope to reduce some fatigue. Now onto the Muzzle Brake research.... any input? I am thinking seriously about the GK-01 as its light (7 ounces) and seems to do a good job at recoil and muzzle rise - check out Fitty's new video on Youtube.... I appreciate everyone's help...can't wait to get to the range this Saturday!
