  1. When I received my MKA 1919 back for a full make over from FireBird Precision, a Carlson's Win Choke was installed (never shot with it) Here's the specs: Choke Tubes are made from 17-4 stainless and precision machined to produce a choke tube that patterns better than standard choke tubes. These choke tubes feature a 25% larger parallel section in the choke thus throwing more consistent patterns than conventional choke tubes. Each choke tube is knurled on the end to allow for quick and easy removal. Each choke tube has the constriction laser marked on the end for easy reference. Lead
  2. I'm not looking to spend over $150 I've consider the Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 Any thoughs/feedback?
  3. Also got my XDS 45 back last week (Springfield included a 7 round extended clip @ n/c) but also received my MKA back from Firebird Precision (totally awesome w/complete lower receiver & forehand). The MKA took everything I could throw @ it with zero issues (ammo was above 1200 fps and 1 1/8 oz) So I took both to the range this past Thursday. XDS45 is another awesome firearm to own!!!
  4. Using your existing adapter with stock length forend limits shroud selection only to 1 (a 6" produced by 1 vendor) so having a longer length adapter would allow the most shrouds available (like the 8-9" +)
  5. Like new, 50 rounds put through, but for obvious reasons the lower shell doesn't do the work, the parts installed do, in new condition If it makes a difference its an XN (shouldn't make a difference) Lower is stripped, just add stock/grip adapter along w/stock and grip of your choice. Apprehensive of cutting your own lower & ruining it or wanting to keeping factory parts in their orginality or maybe you don't want to wait to send your lower in to a vendor and have down time, well here's your chance @ $195 shipped.or best offer!

    BR-99

I received a BR99 and its a much improved firearm over the MKA 1919 I did list all the attributes of the BR99, but not w/pics, but I do have a nice informative link w/pics that someone on another forum posted which should be very helpful: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_1/407143_.html&page=1
  7. I too find this very informative!!! I don't see this as an attack but a comparison (side by side) of two different aftermarket manufactures. Let the truth be unraveled and don't be a hater. I still believe you get what you pay for, and I'm willing to pay for quality (I hate paying for something twice) so I like to see and be informed about craftsmanship and quality of materials used.
  8. I'm no expert, This is just my opinion from my experiences When I have time I will be posting pics as well an update on a new magazine endevour.
  9. Yes I did & they work It wouldn't take much, this is what needs to be done; Metal Feed Ramp Re-designed Magazine to follow proper curvature of how the shells are fed for better reliability(anything more than 5 rounds & this will probally help cure most of the MKA inherient problems) HTH FRED
  10. Anyone have 2 of them available @ a decent price? MKA 2 round mags(I need 2) Thanks in Advance
  11. MKA Mags worked fine, the mags that comes with the BR99 look to be of a better design but seem to hold only 4 rounds unmolested.
  12. Handguard solid (nothing like aftermarket but better than the MKA) No problems w/heat!! If I knew what I know now I would have never purchased the MKA (but don't we always say that & plus it wasn't available then) From a function & dependability standpoint I feel no need to accessorize it (especially when I already did it to my MKA)
  13. Put thru approx 100 rounds, 75 were high brass,1 1/8- 6 shot Winchester , and 25 low recoil 00 buckshot Rio. Used factory Mags (5 rounders) Run smooth without a hiccup and accurate w/factory sights As of right now,it wins hands down over the MKA 1919
  14. I haven't fired it yet,but like you I don't shoot competition & wanted it for fun but something left in stock config. but more refined than the MKA (shooting my existing 10 round mags will tell the story by Friday)
  15. Received my UZK-BR99 from Atlantic Firearms- Great Service!!!! Mind you that I already have an MKA 1919 (no longer in stock config.) Haven't fired it yet, loaded down w/school this weekend, but here our my observations so far: 1. Full Picatinny Rail on forend. 2. Front Sight has a push button to allow sight to move forward/rearward along the length of the rail. 3. Rear Sight/Handle has nicer adjustability/thumbwheels 4. Forend is not as flimisy (still plastic feel) and has a better forend fastner than MKA 5. Pistol Grip is solid not hollow. 6. To remove operating rod it has

    WTF

I sent off my XDS45 today, funny thing I didn't hear about directly thru Springfield but via GunAmerica & followed their link to Springfield, then typed my serial # in to only take me to a Fedex link to print an RMA label.Just will use my Glock 26 for now. So how do you like the XDs 45,love mine haven't had any problems. Very happy, did the http://powderriverprecision.com trigger pull kit, added a Crimson Trace Laser-looks & fits the XDS as if it belongs there (molded in from the factory) Here's a link: http://www.bing.com/shopping/crimso...D61DB5012?q=xds laser&lpq=xds la
  17. I've got one coming, won't see it for approx, a week, once I get it I'll give everyone feedback, then I'll head out to the range w/my pre-existing 10 round clips from my MKA 1919 and run low brass and high power tests.

    My Oh My

All of a sudden the MKA forum woke!!! Thanks for inquistive minds and the people that contribute to answers!!!! FRED
  21. No, the Tom Cole threads in where your choke goes in thus providing external threads for a Saiga 12 shroud to screw onto HTH FRED What can and cant you shoot with this set up.......I know nothing about chokes. My MKA is accurate enough for home defense or range shooting w/ 00 buck
