  1. That is a really nice rig! I like how everything on there has a function, no frills.
  2. great buyer, sent funds fast, easily to communicate with!
  3. Look how happy Mikhail looks! I would love to drink Vodka with this guy http://www.popularairsoft.com/izhmash-now-known-kalashnikov-concern The second half of this article is a business synopsis/overview of the strategy and history, it interests me but YMMV...
  4. Good point, didn't think about that. Looking at the AK-12 it is hard to get super exited yet, I would like to shoot one and see the difference between the standard AKM's.
  5. Kind of, Izhmash bought Molot a few years back but they have been operating as relative separate/independent entities for the most part. I don't know about the natural evolution, it is more of a piss poor managed shit-show that has devolved and deteriorated to a point where that need a new vision and outlook so they don't have to keep being constantly bailed out. It is like they acquired all of these assets and didn't have the wherewithal and vision to fully utilize them. This company needs to seriously streamline. Kalashnikov Concern is looking to vertically align its corporate struct
  6. I think $500 is now the new Saiga standard. The days of $399 and $299 are long gone, and I don't think we will see them again. The best price I have found was $390 on gunbroker for a .223 and it was a steal. I would say if you want to buy in the next year or so, you can feel good about buying a x39 from Buds for $505, which is what they are listed for today. I think in a year or two if Kalashnikov Concern starts churning its wheels and is not slowed down by the 2014 US elections/legislation/fear mongering or their own Russian continual saga-esque melodramma we could see a nice steady strea
  7. Yeah 729, definitely not bad, they are at my gun store for around that too.
  8. Yes new Saiga's are done as of now, it is a complete restucturing. There might be sporterized AK's but under a different name.I hope they do not lose any time and start pumping out rifles again. And for all the guys thinking Vepr's were the safe bet, it looks like they will be in the very short term, but the new brand "concern Kalashnikov"which I don't know what the concern part means, will be absorbing Molot and all other subsidiaries into the one brand. It seems like they are trying to unitize things and hopefully it works! Hopefully it is more of a management tear down and re-name than n
  9. Here is a little bit more info on the corporate restructuring/dismantling/liquidation of Izhmash into the new "Kalashnikov". http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013/08/14/long-izhmash-long-live-kalashnikov/
  10. I wonder when the shipments will stop; my local gun shop just got a bunch of new 5.45's and x39's imported this month. Probably new old stock found in warehouse someplace. Where did the news on no more shipments pop up on? Not questioning, just interested, thanks.

  12. Sold and Shipped I have a Saiga .223 I am in the process of converting and have hit the point where I have run out of money and I start back teaching and coaching in the next couple weeks, and have lost steam on this project. I did not start this conversion with the intent to ever sell so some choices are specific to me end goal which was a light AK-AR type rifle. A lot of the hard work is done for the conversion and it just needs parts and paint to finish it off. In its current condition I have removed the: fcg (not re-usable) trigger guard (not re-usable) svd side rail (not re-usabl
  13. Thanks for the encouragment! I might try to stick it out we will see..
  14. Are they changing the product name, or is it in the package with Izhmash being renamed? I wonder what will be the replacement.....If this is the case, this could get interesting....AK12...... This is interesting to me whats the news on these?
  15. No worries man, I did do it with a very specific goal in mind, if you don't like it I am not going to worry about it. I was really going for a sleek AK-AR blend with the voodoo tactical bolt on FSGB cut, crowned, threaded and pinned FCS556 muzzle brake, DA conversion, and cerakote...yea the works. My lively hood doesn't depend on this project so I am not really worried. It is just a gun project, and there will be more.
  16. Mods feel free to move this accordingly I have a Saiga .223 I am in the process of converting and have hit the point where I have run out of money and I start back teaching and coaching in the next couple weeks. I am not listing this yet just wanted to see if there was an interest in a general sense of someone who might be interested in finishing what I started. In its current condition I have removed the: fcg (not re-usable) trigger guard (not re-usable) svd side rail (not re-usable; farthest rivet back needs to be replaced where SVD rail was) front gas block (not re-usable) front
  17. Legon is the only place i have found that has them in stock right now, every store I have talked to said they have no news on when they could get more. https://legionusainc.com/saiga-rifles-for-sale/factory-models.html
  18. Thanks, the allen wrench suggestion is awesome, and yep I am gonna go pick up an inch pound ratchet too. Thanks again!
  19. So how hard is it to align the gas block with the gas port? If I line it up where the old gas block markings are and tighten it down will it be pretty easy? I am using the venom tactical FSGB combo but I have never used a torque wrench before. I am pretty sure I can do it but is this the kind of project that I should send out to have done?

  21. I thought I had seen a video with someone having a similar mark, but couldn't remember if it was an accident or not. I looked at my gas block where the channel was and only a minimal hole in it, so probably just notched it a little more. It was weird b/c one second I was just cutting it normally and the next I was super deep... I must have dropped into that channel w/o realizing? Thanks for the heads up!
