In general I find the same to be true. What I do like is a top rail for optics with modular sides, so I have the option to add a rail section if I wanted to put something on. I guess I would not ever put a flashlight or laser on at most maybe a Magpul AFG so in essence I agree with your statement. The market is kind of all or nothing wither you see these full on quad rails or vented competition style hand guards neither of which I like. Damage said this would not it anyways but they are working on variations, alas the search continues...

Thanks for the tips, after thinking about the headache this will be I think I am going to learn to love the integrated sights Just need to find a modular rail system... I have gone through the usual suspects, I do want something aluminum with options for rails but most of them are so expensive and not really what I was looking for. I have looked at SGM, CSS, ATI, Ultimak, Midwest, Ronin, and all the standard type furniture but none of them really floated my boat. Centerfire Systems still has the 223, 308, and 54R versions in stock [straight Back], I am kicking myself for not getting the 5.45 and 7.62x39 when they were still around a couple months ago. Fear not the straight cuts are making their way back at some point this summer.

I was wondering if your quad rail for the Vepr (223,308) pictured here: http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/css-riflequad-2pcset.htm Would fit the newer square back integrated sight model version 02 seen here: I was also just wondering if they will fit with that front sight post if the top rail interferes with the sight picture at all? I know your description addresses all of these issues just making sure for this newer model it would as well. Thanks!

I totally agree, you can always chop it down but there is no "miracle grow" for barrels! Keep fighting the good fight, if I see one I will let you know P.S. There is a shipment of Vepr's coming this summer just like last. 1500 various styles no vendors have been asked for their orders yet but it looks like possible late June to August time frame. <Multiple sources>

The big difference is the gas tube, the V2 gas tube is longer than the standard AK gas tube and the mechanism that helps you remove it is different as well as the rear sight. It

So I am getting to be a Vepr addict... I love my Vepr 12 and am looking to pick up 308, 223, & 7.62x39 models as well. Just a couple of questions I think I know the answers to but just need to make sure. Thanks! I am looking right now at the Square Back 308 model at Centerfire Systems and looking at this picture it seems like with out any modifications I can take off the thumb hole stock and do the following: Put on a RPK stock Put any AK compatible grip on it Does that sound right? I had to shave off about 1/16th on each side going back and forth til it fit. In my experience, they do not fit without modification. Was that on a square back Vepr?

Cam, any idea when these will be released (AK VERSION)? I wanted to run a Eotech & magnifier on mine but that damn original rear sight seems like it ould get in the way. Would it be conceivable to weld a rail section into your flip up rear section and still keep functionality? I would have to tear into your product Maybe there would be another way to mount it... Probably a no go but any idea if these would work on the Vepr 223, 762 or 308 non integrated sight versions?

Okay, so I was looking at the 223 Vepr at Centerfire for 699 and I was wondering about the stocks it takes. The guy at Centerfire swears they take a regular AK stock but I was trying to figure out how. I know the Vepr RPK receivers are thicker and usually you have to use a RPK receiver so I was trying to figure out how that works. Granted my experience is limited to my Vepr 12 which I have the Bonesteel RPK Galil Style stock on, that I am refrencing. It's a game changer, I love my adapter with the LRBHO. The AR version is out of stock and I have just a few AK grip versions left. Right now we are redesigning the AR adapter and completing a receiver kit for the DIY'er AK builder. Soon we will introduce a complete rifle under our new parent company. since I have the AR Bastard may I ask what exactly is being redesigned? any timeline on the complete rife?
