  1. I believe the proper interpretation is that law REQUIRES you to buy one a month. that's my story
  2. As in Saigon. I don't even remember where I found out.
  3. FWIW This mag holds 15 rds of .223. White point is where the floor plate flange ends. Continue that line up the front of both sides. When you cut remember to switch which side of the line you leave at the lower red line. Red points: Both were marked with a try square from the front curve of the mag. The lower is up just past where the rear of the mag thins to normal. The higher is marked to make the total whatever you've decided. The yellow point shows where the mag has the black paint on the front. I believe this is where the steel reinforcement ends. This is not a problem to c
  4. Front sight block is pinned and is a stout press fit. Your fix involves removing the pins and pressing off the FSB. Press it back on plumb and drill slightly oversize for new pins. You can look at this as an opportunity to aquire a bayonet lug and threaded muzzle.

That's an E. German .545 that I couldn't make feed more than 15 rounds so that's where I cut it off. That's the second and better looking one. Time will tell how the epoxy holds up.

Yes and yes. Compromise, after study it seemed easiest set the block where the front mounting pin lined up. The tube would be shortened to fit. The 45* gas block was redrilled like a 90* through the bottom from dimensions taken from the soon to be common front pin. Drilled the new channel into the existing 45* channel.
  7. I agree, the hooks are functionally a sear, but since they are part of the trigger it's moot. If you want to call it two parts, you are only adding one to both sides of the equation. Guess. Then manufacture evidence to support guess. think?
  8. The rifle will function without a top cover. Be sure the carrier isn't rubbing or the rails aren't being squeezed. You should be able to feel this by cycling by hand.

Look at the gas block in the last picture. What do you think?

What do you think of Natasha's gas block? Boris you've seen before.
  11. Since the alcohol left only bare metal. I think it is a safe bet.
  12. There are two types of mount. I have the one you have. It squeezes the dovetail when thrown, it seems to work fine.
  13. Saiga 100 .308 Rifle $439 at Gilberts. .223 and X39 are under $300. Less at Stanley's. Makes 'local' less appealing.
