  1. Thanks for the quick responses guys. Matt and Tooth & Nail Armory, once again, to the rescue! I just sent you an e-mail.
  2. Forgot to mention that I am using a Tooth & Nail Armory FCG. Anybody hear any issues with them? All of my mods were done subsequent to my initial testing to obtain a baseline performance benchmark.
  3. Hello, I just wanted to give a little background on my MKA. I bought the XN and went and shot it. It worked great. The only issue I had was lo-brass Winchester super target at 1200fps. I had a local gun store add the T&N stock adapter. When I got it home, I noticed that the bolt was getting locked in the rearward position. Matt at Tooth & Nail offered to look at it. Turns out the bolt from the stock adapter was catching the bolt carrier. They gave me a new bolt and rethreaded my stock adapter after I mashed the threads. All for free! Thanks again Matt. So, now to th
  4. Hello All, I recently purchased a Vepr .308 and was hoping to get some information from you guys. From my research, it sounds like the only magazines that work reliably are the Csspecs Magazines. Is this true? Any reliable alternatives? Also, it looks like they have two options: http://stores.csspecs.com/-strse-17/vepr-.308-20-round/Detail.bok http://stores.csspecs.com/-strse-38/vepr-.308-20-round/Detail.bok From what I can tell the only difference is that one has a black nitrate finish. Is the black nitrate finish worth the extra money? It appears to be a V 1 (no fro
  5. Steve, You have any measurements? Still waiting to modify my other two mags as I haven't been able to get to the range. Jay
  6. Well, I just sent off my upper receiver and bolt carrier group off to Matt at Tooth & Nail to have I all looked at. I believe I may have cross threaded upper receiver hole that the stock adapter attaches to. I called Matt and he said he could probably tap it and rethread it for me for only the cost of shipping!!! He also said to send the upper so they could take a look at why the bolt was getting locked back. Awesome offer by Matt. Now, it's just the dreaded waiting game.
  7. Mine is 1300xxXN. Should I be looking for wear on the top of the upper receiver? I put about 80 rounds through it and it ran fine before. Thanks, Jay
  8. Hello, So my bolt locks to the rear. It's not being caught by the bolt catch, it's just being locked all the way back. There is no mag in the magwell, it's just locking back. I'm manually pulling the charging handle back and it's getting stuck. I push the charging handle forward and it unsticks. I'm supposed to head to the range in a couple hours so I could use some help ASAP. I have a Tooth & Nail stock adapter as well as a Tooth & Nail fire control group. Any thoughts on how to fix it? Thanks, Jay
  9. Correction, I removed approximately 1.25mm I measured the top of the metal portion of the magazine to the top of the magazine catch opening: Factory 5 round is 27.8mm Modified 10 round is 27.4mm Approximately .4mm difference. Does this sound ok? I already put some dummy rounds into a magazine and manually cycled the rounds. Ended up cycling about 30 rounds with no issues. Actually, two issues. My bolt locked rearward with no magazine in the magwell. I think it might have been getting stuck on the hammer. Racked it a couple more times and it appears ok. Any t
  10. They offered to JB Weld it up and sand it down. Considering it was that or have them give me $15 to send it off (they said they would only pay for shipping to a real gunsmith), I went the JB weld route. Had it home for all of 5 minutes and the JB Weld flaked off. I'll be taking it to the range tomorrow. Hopefully all will run smooth and it won't be affected. I have run some dummy rounds through it and everything felt/looked ok.
  11. Well, I ended up filing the mag catch last night. I opened it up approximately 2mm. Hopefully, this will not have any adverse effects on the shotgun. Think I'm headed to the range tomorrow. Wish me luck.
  12. That's pretty consistant with our findings, if you compare the hole position of the 10's with the 5's, most of the 10's are lower. The last box we went through probably 90% wouldn't lock in, latest box has been better, we have started opening, checking and FIXING every mag we ship out. it's a P-I-A but that takes less time than explaining it to everybody who buys them. Akdal is aware of theproblem and "supposed" to have it corrected, we are only getting mags ONE box at a time until we're SURE it's fixed, I'm NOT fixing another 2-300 mags Maybe should've just sent back every one that didn't
  13. I got an e-mail from Carolina Shooters Supply. They suggested removing some of the material from the mag ridge (polymer portion) just like Anubis. Is this a prevalent issue that you guys have encountered before and fixed or is this kind of something you guys have thought through and concluded is the best fix. I just want to make sure I'm doing the correct modification as these weren't cheap magazines and judging from the other work I've done to the 1919, it's going to be shitty to do.
  14. Hello, I just got my MKA 1919 922r compliant so I opened up one of my IMG 10 rd mags to try out. Unfortunately, the magazine does not stay in the mag well. The mag catch doesn't catch the mag. It looks like the top of the polymer portion of the magazine is hitting the bottom of the mag well. This prevents the mag catch from engaging. Have you heard of this issue? Do you have any solutions? Thanks, Jay
  15. Any idea on what kind of remedy they sought from the LGS? Did the LGS end up paying for it? Thanks, Jay
