I'm having some .223 Saiga bolts made. Currently, the engineering firm is in the prototyping stage.
It'll be a direct copy of the Saiga bolt, including the spring loaded firing pin, which I currently sell.
If you have questions, email is the best way to contact me.

Machined right here in the good ole U.S. of A.
Assembly includes hardened stainless pin, stainless collar, and spring.
$40.00USD each for the assembly. I take paypal plus 3.5% or money order.Shipping in either case is $3.00
These are drop in replacements.

OP, if you can't locate the original bolt that came with the rifle, (serial numbers match) you'll have to get the rifle headspaced. Even if you find another Saiga bolt, you'll *still* have to get the rifle headspaced.

There is a little abnormal wear on the firing pin where the hammer hits. Can anyone provide me with precision measurements (using something that can read in .001 in) of their pin? One thing to add its has gotten progressively worse (misfire almost every other round).
Yeah, that sucks. How much that sucks cannot possibly be overstated...
My Romy kitbuild rifle developed an identical problem and I changed out all manner of springs, and even installed a high zoot Red Star trigger kit before I discovered that the rear end of the firing pin had been peened over like that. When I inspected my brother's rifle ("sister" build of the same year Romy kit on same brand receiver) I found that it was well on its way to having the same problem, although it was not yet misfiring. We were able to fix both rifles simply by installing new surplus Polish firing pins.
Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, nobody sells a replacement firing pin for the Saiga .308... See my first statement above.
I sell replacement pins for the S308. Contact me at Cerephim at gmail dot com

Your pin assembly went out today.

I have a batch of Saiga Spring Loaded firing pins made of hardened stainless steel. The pin assembly includes pin, spring, and spring retention collar.
Contact me at cerephim at gmail dot com if you're interested, I can fill you in on price and other sundries.

I believe it's nearly identical to a Bulgy AK-74 bolt carrier.

Pins are in. I can be reached at cerephim@gmail.com

The barrel is not worn out, I just want a spare.
-
Nothing specific yet. The fab shop hasn't quoted me a price yet; but based on their previous work, I'm guessing ~$50.00 for a pin, collar and spring assembly.
-
Pins are being hardened this week. Should get them before the end of the year.
-
The bolt in a Bulgy AK-74 will work. Again, though, the slamfire issue rears its head.
-
Pins are turned, milled, and at the heat treating shop now. God willing and the creek don't rise, I should have them in time for Christmas! I'll letcha know.

Yes, I have one. It's in a working Vepr .308
I want to have a replacement barrel made, but don't know which profile to use. -
The fab shop is loading the program into their CNC. Should be soon.

Is the Vepr .308 barrel trunnion 22 or 23mm at the barrel journal?
I figure this is a long shot. Who would take apart a Vepr to find out?

If someone has Saigas in both .308 and .223, please post images of the firing pins laid side by side.

The Saiga replacement pins (in Stainless Steel hardened to C40) will start being made after Labor Day; at least that's what the fabricator says. I have no idea on how much they're gonna cost me.

You would have to weld some material to the end of the firing pin where the hammer strikes. The Saiga .223 is a standard AK-74 firing pin except for having a flared portion here that acts as a spring retainer.
See this thread where I posted photos and dimensions of Saiga .223 vs AK-74 pin.
Like I said.. You can drop in a normal AK-74 firing pin right into the Saiga .223 bolt and will operate as normal.
The Saiga .223 will also accept a complete 5.45x39 AK-74 bolt and will operate properly with it - however the bolt must be checked for headspacing.
I'm having some Vepr/Saiga .223 and .308 firing pins made. Give me a couple months while I work with the fabricator. I hope to offer the pin/spring/ferrule package.
When you do , I will be interested in one for the Saiga .223 if it is the spring type
I'm having them made specifically for the S308 and S223. I just sent out the schematics today.
I'm still in the process of spec'ing the springs and collars.
