  1. Don't know what the rings do, but standard AK pistons have them, Saigas do not, for whatever reason. The holes in the gas tube (I think that's what you meant) do have some effect, supposedly some noticable positive effects in respect to muzzle climb and recoil. If you know what you are doing, go for it. Otherwise, just buy a $15 gas tube with holes already drilled, and keep the Saiga tube as a spare.
  2. Wow, looks great! Everything really blends well, and it's probably pretty fun to shot too. How much $$ have you invested in it?
  3. I have ordered my AK handguards from there, and many others have ordered from there as well. The verdict is: they are a very honest company, and do good business. If you ordered an item that is in stock, expect it in 7-14 days. I got my stuff exactly a week after ordering. The shipping price did not show up anywhere until it was charged (on my CC) and on the invoice inside the package(s). The shipping is fair, no more than 6 pounds I believe. You have to remember this is from the UK. If the item is not in stock, expect a good while for them to get it, then 7-14 days after that. This may p
  4. Not too shabby... Thanks Dinzag!
  5. I believe that a forum member has US FCGs for unconverted Saigas, not sure who though. Perhaps Dinzag? A set of wood furniture would be a good addition, as would a gas piston. That is 5 US parts, you may need another depending on how the folding stock is counted parts-wise.
  6. I actually think it is mostly due to the actual handguard itself... your retainer lines up perfectly with the retainer above it (on gas tube), so that does not appear to be the problem. No big deal anyways...
  7. I know an older lady named Penny. A big carpet store is less than 20 blocks away from me.
  8. Nothing to worry about, it just shows your level of being warned before being banned. I don't think it is used here... If you're real bad, you just get the boot. Where in Florida are you located?
  9. Looks good, just like mine does now. No gas tube problems with x39 retainers, but it is a very close fit. My only complaint/comment is that the retainers do not cover the 'lip' of the front of the handguard fully. They mostly do, but the back and top parts of the HG front lip stick out a bit. I don't know if there is a way around that, but it is no big deal, especially after I paint that small area black to match.
  10. Nice! Looks like #27 the shell ejector. I guess it was hiding on the inside of the receiver, I didn't even notice it. Thanks!
  11. Nah, that part is the long one right above the red box. I'm not sure if that would help, as I don't know where to start looking. But I'll keep that in mind, so PM me your number and when to call. Thanks for the responses, guys.
  12. These are parts for a Mossberg 500. I boxed off the nut and the other part... what are they and what are they for? I have completely stripped my 590, but cannot find these parts. I am still a shotgun noob, so bear with me here... Thanks!
  13. This is az shootist's S-12, with Halo forend. http://www.halomfg.com/
  14. That's a Halo. http://www.halomfg.com/ Wow, you dropped a pretty penny on that. Looks like a good product though, I wouldn't mind having one at all.
  15. Nice link. Now I know that I only have 9 foreign parts!
  16. I believe the S-12 Ultimak is in the late stages of development. Anybody know the latest news on it?
  17. St. Petersburg here. There are several in south Florida, two (that I know of) in the Tampa area, and then ?? north of brooksville. Just what the locals need, a gathering of a dozen or so AW-bearing guys...
  18. I guess thumbhole stocks (and thumbhole stocks without the thumbhole) would be the only practical choice if you are removing the pistol grip.
  19. That looks good, 762minigun. Definitely the easy way out (not that there's anything wrong with that).
  20. What about front sights? I'd like to get myself a set of those R4/Galil front sights.
