  1. If you ever want to use ruskie 5-round mags (and they are a handier size) then it's better to pony up the $40 for a Tapco trigger group. And if anybody ever manages to import some 8-rounders then you'll REALLY wish you had a US FCG.
  2. Most likely uses a single perforated tube down the middle. Looks very Mad Max.
  3. Extremely nice conversion. That ranks up there with Tony's work. And there is no higher praise when it comes to a Saiga.
  4. A gift from an admirer? Seriously guys, when you ship ANYTHING, much less a gun, you have to put your info INSIDE cause you can't count on the info outside being readable.

    Polychoke?

OK I'm deciding what muzzle device to put on my threaded 19". I prefer the look of the Rusky chokes, but I feel the Poly would be a better functional choice. So here's my question: Do the vented polys have any real reduction in recoil over the standard version? If I ever shoot 3-gun with my S12 (I'd like to), then less recoil = faster, so I'd probably pony up for the vented poly if it actually helps.
  6. 7.5K shells? Quoting him "i have the 7.5 coming in a week" Perhaps their starting out with 7.5 birdshot Well that would make more sense. Here's another tidbit of information: My FBMG package arrived today, and the sheet that comes with the 5-round mags says they will take "total cartridge length of 59...68 mm". So 70mm would be too long for these mags according to the specs.
  7. I thought it was weird too. Maybe he didn't mean to say 7.5cm, but I don't know what else 7.5 could mean.
  8. AIM says they're getting 7.5cm shells. That's 2.953".
  9. Since we're on the topic... I read in another post that somebody had problems with Wolf buckshot cycling their S12. Is this a known issue, or possibly the gas setting was wrong?
  10. Bolt Hold Open. It's a little tab that sticks down beside the trigger guard for you to hit your finger on when you shoot. No seriously, it's a manual bolt hold-open. Most useful if you're at a range that requires all bolts be open during cease-fires.
  11. Your concern is unwarranted. This is valid market research, but we are hardly the whole market. The few of us here represent a fraction of the Saiga-12 owners in America. At the prices discussed here 10,000 pieces will move. There is a pent-up demand due to the high prices and lack of availability. Just look at how many mags AGP is selling. They can't keep up with the demand. And that's at $60 a pop. I have some experience with selling products on the internet. If I had the chance to pick up 10k mags for ~$100,000 (just a guess at the lot price) I'd jump on it.
  12. Exactly what I was thinking. A "poll" from HCI only carries weight for those who want to ban guns anyway.
  13. I do alot of business with midwayusa.com Their prices are usually the lowest or close. Right now "the" deal is from AIMsurplus. $87.50 for 250rds. Shipping is $25, so if you can pick it up you're getting a fantastic deal, if you have it shipped it's a good deal.

    new saiga

Post some pics of that baby! Gun Porn: The Other White Meat!
  15. I'm on 5 different boards, and that petition is posted on all of them multiple times. I've already signed the petition for the good it will do. And I've written my representative and both senators, which will do alot more good. And no I'm not defending myself to you. I'm just pointing out that your conclusion from the view count is not valid.
  16. I do wonder how much good these things do, but it certainly can't hurt, so... Done. Best way to express yourself is with letters and calls to your congresscritters. Write or call your representative and both senators! No excuses! http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/ .
  17. I'd definately take one of the 10-packs at that price. And yes I too am interested in the 8-rounders, although that was not the original question.

    Saiga-12 vs 870

Well it certainly wasn't my intent to start a debate about pump vs. Saiga (on the Saiga forum, duh), despite the title of the thread. I just thought the picture was interesting. I had always thought the 19" Saiga looked big in pictures but when I got it I was impressed that it was actually shorter than my 870. I know none of us would volunteer to be on the receiving end of ANY shotgun.
  19. I've got two, was thinking about building a back up competition gun from my 590, it's in my "round tuit" list. Let me know if you are looking to "stock up" and I'll pull the plug on that project (it's flat lined for quite some time!). I made a deal to get the one from MAC_TEK. I don't have the funds to do more than 1 at the moment.

    Saiga-12 vs 870

I may be new around here but I'm not new to life or to firearms. It certainly isn't necessary to imply that I am somehow like zumbo because I choose a pump shotgun to defend my home and family. I would never claim to be an expert in firearms but I am a competitive shooter and taught marksmanship in the Corps. And though I don't claim to be an expert (because I can always be better than I am) I'm willing to bet my life and the life of my soon-to-be wife on my ability and my choice of tools. I won't insult you for your choice and I'd appreciate it if you refrained from insulting me for mi

    Saiga-12 vs 870

Just curious... On what do you base this belief that the sound is "way over rated"? I'm willing to be re-educated if I've missed some research on this topic... I've been on the receiving end of that sound when I had a little misunderstanding with the police in my earlier years. I had no evil intentions to begin with but hearing that sound behind me turned my blood to ice and every muscle in my body locked up. In fact the cop had to yell at me twice to get on the ground cause I was having trouble moving.

    Saiga-12 vs 870

My 870 has never been hunting and never will. It will continue to serve as an outstanding defense tool ready to dissuade uninvited guests from their nefarious intentions. I take nothing away from the Saiga, but I will continue to rely on my 870 for HD.
  23. Well boys and girls... Looks like the fun's over. Knoxx has discontinued the Sidewinder and try as I might I can't find one of the NLFDs anywhere.

    Saiga-12 vs 870

There is a Knoxx Specops stock and a tac light in the future for the 870.
