  1. Atlantic Firearms now has the M90NP in stock. I think some of yall were wanting a full sized rifle with the ar mag well....... here you go. The M85NP that I have has had no issues, so these should function well too. http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/zastava-pap-m90np-5-56x45mm-rifle-with-ar15-magazine-adapter-detail.html?Itemid=0
  2. If I remember correctly from sighting in mine, the turrets has a red mark as a point of reference, and the upper ring has tick marks. use those marks to tell how much adjustment you made. Fire another group and adjust more if need be. Theres no reason to look through the Scope while making the adjustments. You can use google translate but I forget if it moves the poi or poa with the adjustment. The sled will help confirm that you moved the reticle the correct amount but not a necessity, It just saves some ammo and time. hope that helps you out.
  3. I have the 74 style and the 4 piece brake. I prefer the 4 piece flash hider on the m85. It does an excellent job of taming down the muzzle flash. The 74 style break is great on my m92 to reduce muzzle rise. They both work great for their function.
  4. I think most people misunderstood the ban to include all ak's or are banking on them being banned soon.
  5. The first one i made i welded a solid semicircle on top of the sight. then used a dremel to shape it and even it out. Then i put it in a drill press vise and using some digital calipers, and the initial notch of the sight, lined it up to drill. I started small and worked my way up to a 9/64th (I think) on the 200m side. This gave a nice ghost ring around the front hood. I went smaller on the 400m side, thinking that it would be a little more precise. The others I made were the same process I just made the semi circle an arch so as not to have to drill so much.
  6. my m92 and m85np I think the sights on these leave a lot to be desired. So i did a little fabricating
  7. I have not saw any clear mags for the vepr. I have not even saw any for the saiga in a while. Your best bet may be to source some old saiga mags and convert them to fit the mag well if possible. I assume you can but, I have not handled any first hand so i don't know for sure.
  8. Here is my SAR-1 and WASR
  9. I used scarlet rit dye. I put on 2 heavy coats of that. it turned the wood a really dark brown/red. So much I really could not see the wood grain as much as i wanted. I put on one light coat of red oak wood stain, miniwax if I remember correctly, and it brought out the grain nicely . It was really really dark at that point. So I mixed the scarlet rit dye in with the polyurethane and put on 6 to 7 coats of the rit/polyurethane mixture and it lightened it up some and bring it back to a deep red. I found that it helps immensely if you only swirl the mixture lightly as not to introduce bubbles int
  10. Try inserting one of the mags that you do not have problems with ejecting and measure how far the mag release is from the mag well. Then insert the mag that is ejecting and see if the mag release is closer to the mag well. This may help you see if the mag catch is fully engaged. And if the mag is defective or just needs to be fit to the gun.
  11. Let me start with the finished product so everyone can see if you would be something you are interested in. The upper handguard is (too my knowledge) the same as any akm upper. No fitting required. This is a surplus Romanian rpk lower handguard (HG) I used a dremel tool with a sanding drum to enlarge the opening at the receiver end. I tapered the opening to about 3/4 of the way down the HG towards the muzzle end of the HG. Here is a table of the before and after measurements of the wood HG compared to the poly HG I did not have to alter the muzzle end of t
  12. It was simple it took all of 1.5 hours to do, and that was with me taking measurements and documentation photos to do a tutorial for everyone who wants to go this route. I have not posted any of that up because I wanted to do a durability test to make sure it would not splinter or crack from the pressure..... After 25 slugs, ~75 high brass buck shot, and a couple of hundred rounds of bird shot, I have not seen any splintering or cracking at all. I still need to smooth over a run in the polyurethane but after that I will do a more in dept post for the wood handguards.
