  1. Just as long as their unloaded and locked cases in the trunk your fine. That's a federal law. You may have heard about the guy who's serving a 5 year sentence in jersey for transporting guns to and from a new state but he had them in his passenger compartment in unlocked cases. Your reading that wrong, many lawyers on a local forum I belong to have said that the term "firearm" as it's written in the law applys only to unregistered handguns, sbr's, sbs's, machine guns, and now unregistered assault weapons.
  2. Those blueprints suck, I tried to use them and no matter what I couldn't get them to scale. I did mine by measuring, but one way you could do it is to buy a side folder flat, cut it into 3 sections and use that as a hard template. That's what I would do if I wanted to do another one.
  3. They definitely were, they were eBay plates. I bought them to test them and homemade spall protection. But even the brand ar500 says regular .556 is a level 4 round so that's why they don't mention it on their website, their plates may stop it as seem in videos on their site but they won't put it in writing. They do say ap.556 because it has a lower velocity. For spall protection I did 7 layers of Kevlar coated with bedliner. It worked but I would alternate Coats if I did it again. That would work much better.
  4. That's a cat efficiency code, another one that is rarely an o2 sensor, most likely the cat. A quick test is to take an infrared thermometer and check the temp of the pipe going into the cat and the pipe going out there should be at minimum a 50 degree difference with the outgoing temp being higher. If there isn't then the cat is no longer working. Got out the temp gun and did that test yesterday .... temps on both cats looked good , my test cable came today and I got the included software loaded on my net book, if the rain holds up I will try it out tomorrow :] . Hopefully this cable will
  5. The easiest way is a place called Witt machining. http://www.wittmachine.net, they custom make bolt on brakes for anything. I'm thinking about ordering some for my saiga because breaks are now illegal in nazi York so I'd need something not permanent. Compared to my 74 my saiga 5.45 has so much more recoil.

  7. A sticking egr will rarely cause a lean code, the egr is normally open on part and full trottle, it can cauSe a lean code at idle. But it will also cause a rough idle. You need to get the freeze frame data for the code. That will tell you when it is happening, if its at idle then possible egr or most likely a vacuum leak, unless its a real bad leak it wouldn't affect it while driving. MAF sensors are very delicate maybe you were too rough replacing it, or do you have a k&n filter on it? Those are notorious for contaminating maf's and causing said problem. One way to isolate the MAF is to d
  8. When you get a lean code your vehicle is actually dumping fuel trying to correct it, you've already replaced a lot of parts that can cause it so unless you screwed up an install you can rule all them out. I worked for ford for 12 years and have rarely seen an o2 sensor cause a lean code. In fact I've rarely ever replaced one unless it was in a cat that burnt out damaging the sensor. There's a lot of rubber lines on that motor that after time wear out, check them. A common one is on the drivers side back of the intake that is a pain in the ass to get to and easy to screw up replacing. Find a di
  9. I bought and tested some eBay ar500 armor. It stopped multiple hits of 7.62x39, 5.45, 40 s&w, but .556 punched right through it on the first shot. I even tested a second plate with only .556 to make sure it wasn't weakened from all the other shots and it went right through that too.
  10. It's the lower rails that actually stabilize the mag, that's why if you build an ak the lower rails are oversized so you have to size them to the caliber magazine you are building it for.
  11. It doesn't matter. Still it is a semi-automatic shotgun with a detachable magazine..... 22. "Assault weapon" means........ ( b ) a semiautomatic shotgun that has at least one of the following characteristics: (i) a folding or telescoping stock; (ii) a thumbhole stock; (iii) a second handgrip or a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand; (iv) a fixed magazine capacity in excess of seven rounds; (v) an ability to accept a detachable magazine From: http://public.leginfo.state.ny.us/LAWSSEAF.cgi?QUERYTYPE=LAWS+&QUERYDATA=$$PEN265.00$$@TXPEN0265.00+
  12. I am doing that MoparAnd already own a Saiga 223 and a Saiga 308, and a shotgun, and a 22, and a pistol on the way The 7.62 is my primary and I do wish it in wood stock and rail; focused on fining a set is all I am getting a 50 cal to when I get the $$$ up Which 50? It would have to be bolt action. Semi is not allowed. Even if you found one without a pistol grip it needs a muzzle brake and that's not allowed.
  13. the ones in Russia are the same as ours, the 7.62 usually puts a ring around the spent shell on ours because it is a required feature in Russia. Sometimes we get lucky and get a export barrel. The only difference between ours and the Russian ones is civilians over there must first own a smoothbore firearm for 5 years without a criminal incident before they can get a rifled gun.
  14. Here's the pic of it. It's weird how the rear sight isn't deployed and the lower looks weird. It may be the lighting in the pic but it just doesn't look right. And yes, I am know as a tinfoiler on my other forums I'm a member of.
  15. I ordered one. They weren't open to answer any question.
