  1. Wow, that is really cool. Good job creating something unique.
  2. I specifically said that it is a question to ask yourselves, not plaster it on the thread. I did mention, however, should a person want to answer, then do so, but that's on them.
  3. Question is, what can be done? Willing to bet none of us are organized to the point of forming a militia which is worth a damn. Would the local authorities (and I don't mean just the local sheriff and his deputies, I'm talking full blown SWAT team, riot control, etc., etc., and whatever measures they have in place beyond that) see us as freedom-loving Americans attempting to win back our government from the hands of tyrants, or would the more likely scenario not be they see us as a group of terrorists? In this case, numbers matter. If your group consists of a small mob, you aren't going to win
  4. We're fucked. I wonder who will start in first with the gun control talk? Hilary? Obama? Other? Who's going to step up to the retard plate and swing this time?
  5. Call them. You might not need a RAF. Seemed more like a formality than anything.
  6. If you ever need to know, just convert millimeters to inches. 7.62, for example, is right around 300/1000th's of an inch, thus .30 cal. A 9mm would be a little too big for a 7.62 bore as it's made for .35. The kit that Heartbreaker mentioned would be a good investment for you to have, but like I said earlier, you will probably eventually want to upgrade some stuff. I've been through about 3 Winchester's and I'm on the second one of those metal-cased Gunmaster cleaning kits. Pieces just tend to fail after awhile, get worn out, threads strip, etc. However, it's good to have on hand for a qui
  7. Well, it'd be easier to use a pistol length cleaning rod, but I suppose if you want to use a rifle length to have for other long guns, you could... It'd just be a little awkward using it. Definitely need a .30 cal rod/brush/jag or pull-through, though.
  8. This how I would do it: Get a .30 cal brush, a short cleaning rod, run some bore cleaner through (if it's foam, fill the bore with it, then let sit for a minute or two), run the brush through (ideally) from chamber to muzzle. Scrub back and forth about 5 or 6 times, but don't allow the brush to fully exit the muzzle before pulling it back through each time. If it does, just be careful re-inserting the brush back into the bore as some cleaning rods will not perfectly align with the threads of the brush, and could potentially damage the crown if forced. If your handgun allows for easy access
  9. To me, it still seems like an issue with the crown. A buddy of mine just recently experienced a somewhat similar situation with his Mossberg MVP .308. He had tried to group several different brands of ammunition, and tried several different weight projectiles, and it would produce a ~2 - 2.5" "group" at 25yd., but it would always throw a random shot, as well, often times landing a good 4 or 5" away. Sure enough, I noticed that his crown had a couple of small dings. He sent it back to Mossberg, they re-barreled the action, and while still not a tack driver, it's 100% better. As far as bullet di
  10. Well, that's...Different. First thing I'd do is grab your sights and try to move them. See if there's any "play" in the front or rear irons (rear elevation obviously being excluded). Next, check the crown for any damage. Check it over thoroughly as even small nicks and dings can cause accuracy to suffer. If that's not it, try loading two cartridges, fire one, let the second auto-load, then eject it to see if there's any obvious problems with it. Otherwise, pick up a good box of ammunition and see if those groups tighten up any. Make sure you are using a good rest, breathing, trigger control,
  11. Yet your typical soccer mom liberal will continue to regurgitate their indoctrinated "views" about how they are "okay" with you owning a firearm, so long as it's not the evil black kind. So, California, the state which prides itself in the fact that it has already neutered gun owners continues to push further towards a total firearm ban, yet will you hear the hypocritical liberals, who were "okay" with you owning certain firearms, demand that they not push for more "gun control" legislatation after any point? No. Why? Simply because of reasons we've given the brain-dead assholes in the past, b
  12. I am considering those facts, G3 mags can be had for like 3 dollars but x51 ammo costs a lot more. Of course AK mags [which the 32 takes] aren't hard to come by either but it doesn't work with LRBHO ones. I'll take an M14 clone into consideration, since I was considering a Dragunov which would be about that much. Would an M1A be much easier to maintain than a G3? M1a's are simple. They eat two things, ammunition and grease. Purchase a lifetime's supply of grease, and you're set. I've been using Lubriplate on my loaded model, personally, and it seems to work well. Just have to know
  13. Save and spend a little over your $1,000 limit and purchase an M1A Standard model. That should cover everything you want to do. Lookin' at ~$1,300.00 before S&H/Transfer/Tax. Well worth it.
  14. I know you said you're not a pistol guy, but, what about a C96 Mauser for each? Preferably with original wooden stocks to add to the awesome factor. ETA: If not, then my vote is definitely still for some full auto. Never going to see any new ones being legal for us peasants to purchase. Even just a MAC/Cobray or something should suffice. If not that, then perhaps some HK something or others?
  15. Before I clicked the link to view the photo, they made it seem worse than it is. Sure, it looks like hell, but all of the critical parts are still there..
  16. Perhaps an AGP mag would work best for you? You can find them in 2, 6, 8, and 10 rounds, and the best part is, the mag body is made of two halves held together with screws which may help. This video will give you a better idea:
  17. If you're referring to my post, don't think I'm "trashing" on EOTech. They offered refunds to those who wanted them, and they stood by their word and sent out checks. That's very cool of them. My issue, however, is not with temperature change, as it apparently has to be extreme, but rather with the failure due to high humidity that EOTech has said they've experienced as well. I live in Florida, basically in a swamp. Doesn't get much more humid than that. Furthermore, yes, a Saiga is a hit or miss off the line, but they were never really intended to run the "Walmart special" bulk 7 1/2 that we
  18. Congrats on your new build! Don't know if you've heard about this or not: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/98234-eotech-is-accepting-returns-and-giving-refunds/ For an optics rail, I don't know if you're going to find one which will perfectly align with your quad rail. Otherwise, I don't know how attached you are to that quad rail, but...That joker is tall... If you still choose an EOTech, cheek weld is not even a thing, and chin weld is questionable at best. Personally, and please don't take this offensively, I would scrap the quad rail, the shroud, and the
  19. Problem down south here is everything is fenced and marked "No trespassing". If we had the ability to simply shoot on sight no matter where, we would still be overrun, but not this badly. Hell, I see places all around my area that have signs reading something to the effect of, "State owned land, no trespassing, etc. etc.", and I know for a damn fact that they are breeding grounds. Second issue being, say you shoot 20 in a night, what do you do with them? Leave them where they lie? Then you have PETA makin' a fuss about the "poor piggies".
