  1. This is my work in progress. Started out with an iz-447 (cheated) lol. I then installed ak-100 series folder and SVD-a stock also from Alex @ legion usa. Welded pistol grip plate and riveted trigger guard. Got the crazy notion I "needed" the longest barrel I could find so I tracked down an iz-107, and through pure luck purchased a new 24" complete gun from none other than Mike D himself. If you don't know he's the man behind the MD Arms 20rnd drum. Brian @ Dinzag was willing lend some of his creativity and designed a custom "tabuk" scaled up flash hider. It's been a real pleasure so far, I f
  2. That's interesting to hear. Did it lock into the gun real tight or loose? What issues did you have? Ftf fte etc
  3. Are the other mags you have metal or plastic. There was an other mag that was polymer that had serious feeding issues. Veg or something. Csspec mags sometimes require fitment to the gun, not fiddling to make them function. Do you have metal mags. If not, you don't have much.
  4. My 20ga is one of my most usefull, and favorite saiga's. It can cloverleaf slugs at 50yards, and do so with the recoil of a .223. I played around with it a lot to get it to run the cheap stuff. And it will run the weakest ammo I can find. Don't give up just because "everyone" doesn't have one. Most of the parts interchange, and I can always find 20ga on the shelf, even in an ammo scare. Lol to me it's a better home defense gun, as anyone in your house can operate it. Sweet little rigs. They are a little more difficult to buy and fit parts to, but the package is worth the effort. I would like t
  5. Unleer I missed something, You really need to look at cspec metal mags. They breathe life into the 20ga. They are not the cheapest mag out there, but they are the best aftermarket mag!
  6. I have had a gun or two do this. The safety is suppose to cover the dust cover, yes. And when you pull back on the charging handle it is suppose to stop on the fork on the end of the safety and stop the carrier from stripping a new round. Sometimes the fit between the dust cover and the top of the safety are not-so precise, and the charging handle will jack the safety up and over the charging handle. My untouched milled arsenal would do this and scratched the piss out of everything, plus it would jamb the safely lever. On the guns I liked, the decent just barely clicked over the topside of the

Do you have better Side pics?

Is that custom? Or a purchased item. Is it non-reciprocating? Does it work smooth?
  9. Winchester is poop. Can be made to run but it's a shape issue as well as a low dram issue. It has a bulge in the lazy crimp at the top that will cause lots of failure to feed issues. The auto plug should be perfect for you gun as it will only relieve excess gas on the high brass stuff.
  10. Roughly 3 1/2" shorter. It's 18 1/4" permed. Proportions seem better. Will have to get out and function test. See if it needs more gas. It feels much more nibble handling.
  11. Apparently everyone is using irons!! You badasses. We'll my eyes suck. I tried a posp 4x that came with a saiga .308 I bought. It fits perfectly on the saiga, but seems to register or index too far back on the side rail. The vepr 54r seems to have side mount that looks like my psl had, and much less like a standard ak mount. We'll I thought there was SVD or ak, and the SVD mount put the optic too low to not hit the rear leaf sight. So I would like to hear someone's combo that works well. I'd hate to have to just buy an rs mount/vortex scope. I would prefer to keep Russian glass on a Russian gu
  12. You can't say the cutting corners there legally bound to not add it. It wasn't very long ago the scones were on sale for $399. Uhhh show me another bad ass folding stock bayonet for aluminum mag set mill rifle for $400. Are the checkpoints better, sure. What's ignorant about people that like a series of rifle is they claim there's is the best and tell everybody not to buy anything less than the $4 million one. When in reality most people stairstep into something so they could start out with the clone and may eventually fall in love with the gun enough to spend the big bucks. I personally thin
  13. I undoubtably have a lot to learn. I understand that I has an RPK style receiver and therefore front trunnion with extra lugs on both sides the bulge out into the receiver to help for torsional stability under heavy fire. I realize that it's manufactured at the Molot plant and all they can manufacture are RPK based guns w bulged style trunnions and receivers. So whether it's an advantage or a disadvantage depends on the application. As RPKs were by design NOT intended to carried, or shot offhand, I feel the extra bulk is really only justified In a 12 gauge shotgun and a 76 2 x 54r rifle. I vot
  14. Just picked up my baby today from the stork (ffl) it's prob nothing special, but only a father knows the joy the first time you see that special one you have waited many months to hold. Lol yeah I'm excited. I will say the barrel is thinner than I expected, and the plastic 5rd mags are achillies heel of the vepr. The psl has metal double stacks. The receiver feels like a single stack wasr, the trunnion is way wider than the sheet metal that covers it. It bugs me, so I'll figure out a good fix.
  15. With the limited importation, vepr parts will have very limited profitability. The gas systems on these gun is a double edged sword. Most run bird shot out of the box, but have no means of limiting or bypassing the gas for anything else. I built the prototype, took the vids so you guys could see it. I just have failed to do better than most, and still don't have it ready to "buy it now." Hang in there. To be honest I make more in one week than this will net. So unfortunately it's just a hobby release, and as such take a back seat on the budget.
  16. Went to a gun show and picked up an nd3 green laser. Works as a designator, an illuminator, and night vision. It has a laser collminator so you can focus it from a dot to 10'. That way you can hunt nocturnally, we ALL know that's when the zombies feed anyway!!! Lmfao
  17. As a factory installed top rail that's the reason why the side rails delete. I like the poly folders. But it's clear they weren't designed for that gun so to me it looks off. I bought one of the SPD folders from Legion and I love it. But it's the wrong look for this gun.
  18. We'll I just wish I would bought two of the 030 guns @799$. Shame on me. I have had temporary buyers remorse because some of these guns are so expensive, but in the long run I have regretted NOT buying many many more times than having made the purchase. I am tempted to install a poly folder from kvar with the butt pad, as I installed an ak100 poly on my saiga 7.62 rifle. But I can't stand that there is a relief in the Side of the stock for a side rail, and this gun doesn't have a side rail installed. A triangle folder would be brutal. So I guess I'm back to full wood furniture. Really don't mi
  19. So do I chop n perm to get rifle proportions? With the muzzle permed you could actually replicate a 16 1/4" barrel. Thus far I haven't done anything irreversible. I cut off the fsb/gb but I bought a spare first. Also a cleaning rod would finish the look up. But I'm not sure how you would do that? Comments and ideas welcome.
  20. I have one I took out of my saiga when I installed an ak100 series folder. I have a s12 and a 7.62x39. Didnt plan on selling but I don't really need them either. Just fig if I bought a gun with the tang cut off I could restore it back.
  21. Not looking for the magwell just the "bolt and nut at front of magwell.
  22. I had him make a custom part for me. It required many emails back and forth. This was maybe a couple months ago. Part arrived as stated. He did and awesome job. Would assume he's just busy. Good a time as any to compliment his work, and thank him for the extra time it took him to make this for me!
