  1. Those stock VEPRs have some nice Turkish walnut furniture.
  2. I could think of better rifles to purchase if I could submit a LEO letterhead purchase order.
  3. I bought one of the last .223 imports for $650, but the going rate is $1K for a used Vepr .308. I'm still kicking myself for not snatching up a Vepr Super when they were $750 many moons ago.
  4. Yeah, I got mine for half as much as the final auction price last fall.
  5. Since you asked; I have a RAAC Vepr .223 with the non-tacticrapped model w/ the original walnut furniture. It came with a side scope mount with 1" rings. I installed a Leupold VX-II 3-9x33 scope which barely clears the rear sight blade. The walnut on that SOB was better than my Kimber 84M. Too bad they're not imported anymore.
  6. I just use a solvent to clean up my gas piston and tube. Just remember that most lubes are hydrocarbons, so when you add intense heat to the tube, the hydrogen reacts away, and the carbon stays. Your mileage may vary, but I keep my AK derivative gas tubes clean and dry as a bone.
  7. I wouldn't get too hung up on precision sight for the S12. Jammer milled my gas block and rear sight block for HK shotgun sights. I can what golf balls at 50 yards and past with the tightest setting on my polychoke w/o trying. Otherwise, I'd suggest getting an appropriate optic, such as a PK-AS or Eotech vs. worrying about aligning a longer sight radius.
  8. Get an Izhmash Biathalon KO rifle and have a custom stock made for it. It's essentially the same rifle w/o the sound supression.
  9. You can have a standard AMD HG retainer cut and tapped to fit on your barrel without any pressing. Dinzag can make you one if you can find an HG retainer from a AMD kit.
  10. Looks nice. It should arrive when I'm done drilling my current well.
  11. I wouldn't sweat the auto sear since it's most likely a perfectly legal sale for LE and Class III mfgrs. In the case for the overpriced S12, fools and their hid fees are often parted on gunbroker.com

    GUN PORN!

You mean the Chauchat? (Cow-shit) Did Tony have to fit your drum mag into the receiver? Looks damn nice.
  13. I need to back away from the keyboard and hide my wallet.
  14. Should also check out Doug Ford's site by googling Tantal Russian Optics. He's spot on and ix excellent to work with. It may take a few days for him to return your order request, but he has a great reputation. I will probably purchase a PK-AS from him soon.
  15. Sounds like one can be fabricated in the U.S. for a kit build. Would be one hell of a rabbit gun.
