  1. For $250. YES ! For $500. NO ! But I have more than one fully converted and luv them !
  2. I've done 3 Saiga AK's muzzle threadings in the last 6 months. The diff between .570 & .560 muzzle OD is not a issue at all. Like the man said do not buy a Chinese carbon steel die. CSS has all the items and gives us members a 10% discount. Just enter CSS at check out time. Go to CSS or You Tube for how to videos. Use 2- 3" long 2x4's with a slight V cut in the middle of the 4" edge. Works great.
  3. Seems to me the zig zag slots are a cost intensive process and is used to direct gases to the side of the brake cut outs to reduce side flash. I have noticed at indoor ranges flash coming out the older style brakes sides. I've yet to shoot with my ZZ brake.
  4. To bad there is no comments about how well the different brakes function ?
  5. Try a Saiga alum. quad rail for around$50. & up. Take off current lower forearm & install quad rail, done.
  6. Get way for Big Brother to latch onto you and sic the IRS on what they consider "trouble makers". Sadly it's a different world now days and our each and every move is being watched. Even Jimmy Carter X president says this.
  7. Yea no sh$t ! Time for a new " Family portrait "
  8. Greetings and thank you so much for the awesome photos and the great customizing
  9. I use the Dupli-Color DE 1634 low gloss and it matchs OEM color. Finish sand w/400 grit to remove scratchs. Follow all the above prep instructions. Do the oven drying as describled above after painting. But before you paint heat up a big pot of water and drop the paint can in to warm up the paint. Then it will go on like power coating.
  10. Dupli-Color ceramc engine low gloss paint from any auto store works great and takes the heat rated to 500 F. And it matches the Saiga rifle paint.
  11. I had a similar issue, to long. But solved it by buying a Bulgy AK 74 gas tube. Either way the Bulgy GT has to be reworked where the lock comes down on the angle/bevel by grinding or filing. Russia GT are good to go IF you can find one.
  12. I have 4 recently accuired 4 Saiga rifles bought new and rear converted. No problem with any of them at all. My understanding is that RWC imports and converts them then CAI sells them thru it's dealers system. My 2 2009 models are very nice and the recently accuired 2013 products are amazing. The Velclor is gone and the rifles are works of art.
  13. Work fine in my 7.62 and 5.45 . Never have had a problem of any kind.
  14. My 5.45's by RWC have the following US items: Tapco G2 trigger assy., Tapco or Phoneix Technolgy butt stocks, and Tapco pistol grip.
  15. I find it amazing that even the hot .308 round has the same barrel OD ! Not to mention all the other cals. using the same barrel.
  16. What I did is fast and gets cheaper if you do more. Get a metatal frome tubing cutter or Dremel rotary tool. Cut off 9/16 of muzzle cap. From CSS get; 14x1 MM LH threadibd die, handle, and thread guide. Then U can sell threadiging set up or save for another job. Clamp barrel in vice using 2 pcs. of 2x4 w/small V to clamp barrel. You to You Tuble and watch how easy this is. Just remember to turn die CCW.
  17. I went with a quality adj. butt stock that has a pickatinny rail on the right side. CAA make a adj. cheek riser that really helps when using optics to steady your melon. With out the riser I can't get that cheek weld. I have one of each conversion and get the most raves at the range from the quad rail which is handy for night light and laser pointer. Both of which add weight. Just finished another conversion today see below. But I have enough spare stock sets and parts to change the look in no time. New triangle stock weight is 8 oz. I'm going to do a upper & lower hand guard
  18. Nice work ! Somewhat looks like my M-10 from Atlantic. Do you have a hyd. press to remover and reinstall items ?
  19. The 5.45 Saigas will resurface soon. Watch Atlantic Arms and Classic Arms closely and contact them at their web site and ask to be put on that list. They are worth waiting for
  20. The 5.45 vanish it seems when they appear ..... For $550. for a rear converted it's a nobrainer Look for the ones with the "Shark Fin" type fore arms as those are the latest 2013 models and are awesome. I have 2 in 7.62 of the 2013 models waiting for another 5.45 and hope it's a 2013.
  21. Various sources they come and go so but make sure it's for a AK74 type as the "mouth" is different and lenghts vary. The Bulgy or Russian ones work with a litte grinding/filing where the lock applies to the mouth bevel. Try: CSS, Dinzag, Apex, Desert Fox, AK builder, etc
  22. I like to change out the muzzle brakes as I add to my brake collection. CAA butt stock with add on CAA riser. AK 74 butt stock / quad rail.
