Md20 ftw!! Get lots before they're gone!

You guys paranoid much? MD is not going to stop production of a product that sells. Christ, he would have to follow through with the production of double stacks before that occured and that isn't happening anytime soon. Haven't you noticed that he popped his head in, posted a few pics and jumped back down the rabbit hole?

    Stay paranoid my friends...

    Paranoid....lol

Mike said himself that he is highly considering stopping production of the md20 and sees no point why people would want them with the double stacks being released as "they will be better in every way and much more affordable"

    Besides, who wants only 1??

  2. Sounds like my saiga when I got it. I took out all the aftermarket parts that it came with, profiled and polished the bolt and carrier myself, lube, and kept shooting it. I was very close to pulling the gas block off as 1 of my 4 holes is ever so slightly covered by a hair, but ended up not needing to.

It stopped giving me problems and I'm at 450 flawless rounds and counting!

Shoots low brass of all brands.

Thanks again to all the reputable and knowledgeable forum members who helped me out!

  3. A lot of my friends are ex-.mil, as am I, and have seen far worse "downrange" than I have. None of them talk about it...except to those of us who have BTDT, then it's not boasting... it's just a quiet voice telling it like it was.

If a combat vet tells you something about it, consider it a high honor, as it costs him greatly to tell anyone, especially one who was never there, and will never understand the horrors seen and done, so that we may be Free.

Talking to a fellow combat vet is therapeutic, and lays the ghost to rest for a while.

NEVER forget, and SUPPORT these proud, wounded heroes. The wounds don't always show, but we ALL have them.

Very well said. Even if the wounds aren't physical, they are definitely there!

Ask a veteran, you'd be shocked to find the one who is willing to share his story.

    Pay your respect.

    Freedom is not free.

    Boss status.

    Live n kickin.

    Thank god.

  4. I am starting to think that this 1 particular agp mag is giving me problems, BUT it may have possibly been from bent shells from hand cycling/reloading. If it is the mag can it be rebuilt? Is it worth rebuilding?

  5. I've had no previous hands on gun smithing experience til I became a saiga 12 owner and was edumacated by fellow saiga nerds.

My saiga has been modded and started "running" from the work/different set ups I have read and learned about along with other advise.

Just read. Just as anybody else would say. Seems to be a forum favorite everywhere.

  6. 500 rounds later and after some polishing work she is working great and spitting out federal 1145fps no problems.

Since shooting last time I did the extractor mod and removed metal from the bottom lip, removed all the sharp edges and polished,

I procededed to removing MORE metal from the carrier and bolt and re-polished both of them and also gave receiver rails a polish.

I then lubed the carrier and rails lightly with brake caliber grease applied from a Q-tip.

Any of that polishing could have done the trick, but I also swapped out the "nippled" CSS puck for the stock puck which I believe is what made the difference. Stock puck weighs about 17 grams more than CSS puck. This time around I cycled over 160 flawless low-brass shots 4 different brands (estate, Winchester, federal 1290& federal 1145 fps 7 1/2 shot). Last time shooting the federal 1145 wouldn't feed for shot on a maxed out auto plug and now I have 2 turns of adjustment left and it are it up just fine.

Before I had a 160 round flawless feed I only had about 3 failure to ejects and 1 failure to feed(the shell jammed up top where the extractor foot sits, I have slightly removed and rounded the material better since)

I'm stoked that I have been able to get her running good and had the time off work to get it done, hopefully she stays running this way.

    Pictures?

  8. I got the plug and gas tube really clean and took it shooting. Css puck,tac47 auto plug(was bottomed out shooting federal 7.5 shot 1 1/8 oz), stock spring was put back in and the rails were lubed. I have also done a light polish on the bolt, carrier and hammer.

The best it did with the light loads was 9 consecutive shots! But only once. Failure to eject and to feed. The shells get stuck and stop the carrier motion. Should I follow up on  the tutorial to polish the barrel lip where shells feed?

I had much better results shooting 00B & slugs. Only a couple failures after I backed the auto plug out to re-adjust for the heavier loads. I was actually impressed this time after it continued cycling slugs without failures.

Any tips for the mean time?

I'm going to stock up on heavier shots and hold off on modifying.....until next time.

All 4 gas ports are clear of build up, the 4th hole is sitting just a hair behind the gas block......

  9. I am going to try running a few hundred more rounds, it has it's almost flawless cycling every 4th mag or so. If I continue to have problems I will proceed to modifying probably the gas block first and then depending on how effective that was I will shave and polish around bottom lip where shells feed. Hopefully it starts working before I get carried away modding and pissed off at it and just junk it
