  1. thanks for the insight i am starting to think that i will need the non vented ultimak rail, i honestly thought that building something off of the Saiga would be a little easier (and dont get me wrong it is not all that difficult) but with all these people jumping on AR's it almost seems like AK's and AK info has become taboo for a while only to start making a comeback..
  2. ok im guessing mine isn't vented either. there are no holes drilled in the gas tube but there are 4 holes in the gas block
  3. I am about to order an ultimak and there is the one for non vented and vented, I have a daiga 7.62x39 and I am guessing it is the vented one? But not 100% sure, can anyone clear this up for me
  4. I hope I'm in the right section for this, I know I will have to order and change out the front handguards, and add a lower handguard retainer, but I was wondering if I will have to change the gas block on my Saiga 7.62x39 before adding the Ultimak rail. The rifle is essentially bone stock right now and I want to add the Ultimak rail.
  5. Not sure why I was scared to do the basic conversion took all of an hour to do. Now I just need to get everything to complete the whole thing, but that will have be done piece by piece, and since I live in ny right now (planning on moving) im already cutting the pistol grip into a "spur" grip before attaching it
  6. Awesome info deff got me more excited about doing the front conversion, It will be a bit till I completely convert to a full AK, but my basic conversion kit gets here on Friday so that will be a fun start
  7. Ok so im going to start looking for a new gas tube, and does it have to be a 74 gas tube or is it a 47 gas tube I should get so I can change the front hand guards, im a bit nervous to order the wrong stuff and screw anything up
  8. my other question is would this set of handguards work on the stock saiga or would i have to buy/replace other parts before this would fit and work? https://www.k-var.com/shop/AK-404BUS.html
  9. Thanks fir the info, I don't want to spend a fortune but at the same time I don't want to skimp on anything either
  10. Well a little while back I bought my first Saiga, and I really want to convert it to (well for my lack of actual knowledge) an AK-47 or would it be an AKM100 series. I have heard really good things about arsenal but the prices was a bit much for my blood then I found out all they are is a converted Saiga... So my questions are 1) I keep seeing "basic conversion" this and "basic conversion" that, is there a more in-depth more complete conversion, if so what is the difference and 2) other then carolina shooters supply is there any other companies that sell complete conversion kits? I'
