I've been hesitant on buying a vepr for a while, but I don't know much about the different variants. Im just going to cut to the chase, should I jump on this $699 price or hold out?

Does the heavier spring have an affect on light loads (value pack short brass and steel)? And I hope by "last longer" you are not implying this gun has a life expectancy.

Wow this is news to me. I had planned on getting some SGM mags once I got my vepr in but now Im VERYYYY hesitant. Have the magazine issues been fixed in subsequent production or is this still an issue in the current design?

Like I've mentioned before I don't know what to compare this price to. I've only been into firearms for 3 years, the first 1 & 1/2 years I didn't know Saigas/Veprs existed and the rest of the time has been after the shootings. So I really don't know the market besides people asking $1200+ for them.

Are there different models of the vepr 12 sold in the US?

I don't know how the market of Vepr and Saigas has been in previous years so I don't have a point of reference to compare prices to. I have a few questions: I found a vepr for $799, is that a good price? What is the cheapest price you've found for one currently? Could the price possibly go lower as we get further away from "scare" prices?
