  1. the 1, 2, 3, on the rear sight is for 100, 200, 300 meters or maybe yards. to move the front sight you can get a sight adjusting tool or hammer and drift for horizontal adjustment and it screws up and down for vertical adjustment
  2. hmmm I'll have to think about that one, they wont help your 922 parts count, coz i'm in new zealand. I think it could be shorter, and have more angle on the front so standard mags could be rock'n'locked
  3. 1.6 mm plate the 2 sides have 5mm fold at the back then the back welded on the outside to give the catch on the back of the mag clearance. 1 screw holding the front, a roll pin replaces the mag catch pin. the only reason i made it so long is its easier to cut it shorter than make it longer. thats a 5 round mag in the 1st photo, and they drop free. just a quick grind to the front of the mag for the mode.
  4. haven't been on there in a while, but heres a picture of my s12 with my 'custom made' magwell. it took about 6 hours from design of the cardboard template to the finish including 1 hour baking on the finish, it makes mag changes fast and sooo easy. all i want know is a reflex sight for the side mount or on a rail on the dust cover, has anyone tried any of the Chinese copies of the 551, Hakka or Dr. optics?
  5. I considered using pop rivets but thought they would be ugly, they look ok. I cut and welded the guard to the mag catch housing then made it tidy with the dremel, looks original. go luck, have fun with it.
  6. was wondering why you wanted to move the gas ports, the photo says it all. the mag adapter for AR15 mags? whats the gun in your avatar? do you have a better picture of it?
  7. i'm waiting for the magwells too.
  8. i would remove the pin and give it a round end or a maybe a small square end, less surface area on the pin should penetrate deeper. good luck
  9. do you have an eta on the lrbho yet
  10. Hey, was thinkin about that route for my S12 paint. Krylon paint? black? combo colors? flat or semi-gloss? Gettin ready to start a stock for my x39, is your custom similar to the russian skeleton? for non conversion gun? or for converted? did you use a pattern or just wing it? as you see in my S12 stock I tend to wing it. Thanks for info sorry for the delay I've been away. the paint can just says engine enamel, its made in Australia by septone, its gloss black (some i had on hand). I pre-heated the parts in the oven before spraying to get a semi-gloss. the stock is similar to an ace st
  11. I just painted my (custom made) x39 skeleton stock with engine enamel and baked at 120 deg C for an hour, very hard and chemical resistant, and cheap.
  12. Oldone3, that is butt ugly , damn good idea tho. maybe if it was black. don't be offended, things of beauty are never practical (wifes, girl friends come to mind!!) Is that reddot a 'made in hong kong ebay type' like this one ebay reddot does it stand up to the s12 ok, is it water proof or just water resistant? I was thinking of getting one or a eotech 551 replica, any thoughts
  13. anyone mod'ed styer aug mags to fit a saiga 223
  14. yes I know we're getting ripped off, the longer barreled version is cheaper about $550 us. hi cap mags over here are $90 to $120us+, yep thats just for one and second hand at that.(band import i think) and ARs, I saw a cheap one the other day $3000us normal price $3600 to $6000us most of the saiga for sale now have the import trigger, the VEPRs and some of the older imports have the militery trigger, like my s12.
