  1. Where Christian extremists are concerned, mainstream Christians happily stand up and denounce them. You won't find many Sunday church goers nodding their heads agreeing with the Westboro Baptist Church for example. We all admit and agree that those people DO NOT represent us. "Moderate Muslims" (in quotes, because I've never met one) are mysteriously quiet on the issue of radicalism. They keep saying the radicals do not respresent the population, but they will not actively oppose radicals either. That certainly smacks of agreement, or at least by proxy. If you're not willing to denounce
  2. I get some very light dimples on primers on my rifle. Pull the bolt, and make sure the firing pin is completely free, if it sticks AT ALL take it apart and clean the shit out of it. Not sure how people feel about lubing the firing pin channel, but I've heard not to and I don't
  3. Read the book. Being a vet some parts, particularly when they get into his home life and relationship with his wife/what she went through on his deployments, really hit close to home. Thinking I'll wait till this is out on home media and watch it at home, easier to deal with when I'm not surrounded by people. But, as was said, great man and a great American. I wonder if we as a nation will take away from his story what I hope we do.
  4. The Youtube vids are your friend. Otherwise, make sure you have a stout drill bit for the rivets, they are made of melted down tank armor I swear, and a good sturdy set of punches. The only tricky part is drilling out the rear most rivet for the trigger guard (hard to drill that bastard at an angle through the butt stock mounting hole without scarring the hole a little bit) and tapping the hole for the bullet guide. Blue Loctite on everything, though Red wouldn't hurt on the bullet guide. BTW, I have roughly the same kit on my 7.62 with the Warsaw length fixed stock. All very nice fit
  5. I like my stock, but may give that handguard a look.
  6. Hate to agree with the above, I absolutely love my Saiga 7.62. Picked it up from my father in law for $450 with a bunch of loose ammo and couple mags, spent the money to convert it. Were it $600+ just for the rifle, I doubt I would've jumped on it and may have gone a different route. I have noticed Saiga factory parts are getting thin on the ground. Have had a few people on me trying to get my factory handguard/foreend (I kinda like it, may not change it at all) and I'm planning to pick up some spare parts soon just in case supply totally dries up (bolt, firing pin, the stuff standard A
  7. Same opinion here. Gun grabbers, like all liberals, will take a mile one inch at a time. If you give them an inch, they'll be back tomorrow for another. Their STATED end goal is disarmament of the country, and I don't think they have a care in the world for the blood that will be on their hands if they kick over that particular hornet's nest. Personally, I fight gun control attempts in all facets and measures. Unless someone wants to round up the votes to repeal or ammend the 2nd Ammendment, I'll continue to fight.
  8. Why I'll never live in CA or NY. Any place filled with fun grabbing Libs.
  9. I spent the money for CSS's kit and dropped it in yesterday. Easy job, had a second set of hands/someone to keep me company, probably could've handled it solo just would've been a little more fiddly at times. The Carolina trigger guard is a damned nice part, beefy and good looking. I'd happily pay some bucks to have one and not reuse the factory trigger guard. Also got CSS's bullet guide, likewise dropped right in just be damned careful with the tap (it's a little bitty thing, ham fisted can break it if you're not careful.) Whole heartedly recommend. This was my first Kalashnikov, fir
  10. Before After Just picked this little beauty up a week ago, Saiga 7.62 looks brand new with no wear inside. Used a CSS kit to convert the trigger with Magpul PG, Phoenix butt stock, and converted it to take AK mags. Not really sure what else I want to do, maybe vent the factory hand guard with a dremel, might go with synthetic AK handguard. Open to ideas.
  11. Nothing creative, it's just my name. Makes it easy to remember.
