  1. Unfortunately, no, it won't. The 308's barrel is too large a diameter for the mounting hardware used by Ultimak. Barrett
  2. They will work. They take a little muscle (or a lot) but they will go on and fit quite well. Hope this helps, Barrett
  3. I believe you've got the Krebs and Techsights mixed up. The Techsights for the AK do not attach to the tang. I specifically asked that question of the gentleman on THR who posted info about the sight. He stated that it most certainly did not attach via the tang and would still allow folks with folders to use the sights. From what I could tell about the pictures, it looks like it somehow attaches to the disassembly button at the rear of the dustcover. Barrett
  4. I have one of these. I do not like it. It is significantly thinner at the top (at triggerguard height) and is not comfortable for me. A friend of mine loves it however. I have also had problems with the plug on the bottom of the grip popping out on its own. HTH, Barrett
  5. Sopmod, you might look at the YHM rail extension. I think it would be lower than the extension you're using now. http://yankeehill.bizland.com/store/product260.html HTH, Barrett Edit: Also, how much barrel do you have left that's over 16"? I thought I remembered someone saying that if the front sight block is removed or moved back one pin on a 16" 308 then a crown job might take it below the limit. TIA
  6. Basically, the OD of the .308's barrel prevents the use of the clamps that keep the Ultimak from moving. You might could have some custom clamps made up but as-is, they won't work. Barrett
  7. Is this a blowback action? Any chance that this will be imported, presumably with a 16" barrel? Barrett
  8. Yeah, please let us know how it goes. I've considered doing this with an XS backup sight a few times before but was worried that the base was simply too high to get a good sight picture. And $26 sure beats $65! http://www.xssights.com/store/rifle.html <-- Check out the low weaver backup.
  9. Well, I did a quick search and couldn't come up with anything specifically for an AK front sight. However, ACE makes a windage stud that allows the use of AR-15 front sights, of which there are several fiber optic varieties that I ran across. Check out the link: http://www.riflestocks.com/AKAccessories.htm HTH, Barrett
  10. I was under the impression that the .308's barrel was too thick to be used with the clamps provided by Ultimak. Do you have a solution to that? If so, please fill me in. Thanks, Barrett
  11. Yeah, I saw that recall and thought maybe I had a defective one at first, too, but the rollpin is there. At least, if it's the roll pin I think they're talking about. What I see is a rollpin through the endcap, running top to bottom (dustcover to pistol-grip). The wiggle is not really all that pronounced, but it's enough to be noticable and irritating. Also, I noticed that Tromix's buttstocks have what looks like the same type of sling mount that AR collapsible stocks have. I'd been wanting to try out a 3-point sling on my 308 but wasn't sure how to attach it at the buttstock. Unless
  12. Hi guys. Longtime lurker here. I finally decided to post after checking out the Tromix website a little more thoroughly. I'd looked around there before but just as a passing-the-time kinda thing. What caught my eye was the buttstock that Tromix apparently is the sole provider of. I currently have an Ace skeleton stock on my 308 and it's an okay stock except for a bit of wiggle side-to-side. I haven't been able to figure out what caused it to do this as I don't recall noticing it until about 2 weeks after installing it. It appears that the piece at the front of the stock mounts very s
