  1. ...And I have no respect for Obama either. He "caters" too much. Plays too many cards. His record stands for itself though -wolf in sheeps clothing there.

    my 2 cents.

Everytime I hear about how we have to be "sennnnnnnnsitive" understanding why some deranged nutjob did a drive-by (in self-defense of course)

    ...makes me sick.

  2. "Rudy" is very anti-gun. I don't trust him at all concerning any 2nd Amendment topic. His track record proved that to me. Just google his anti gun stance.

Take my 2nd Amendment and force training and licensing (which I'm sure has a price tag to it)? No thanks. Having been in the Marines for a time should exclude me from any such nonsense gun grabbing compromises. I'd rather he'd just say "Thanks" and know I respect law and mean people no harm.

Sure, he was there for 9-11. Not going to make the post about that at all though (far too off topic). I don't trust nor like his stance on many issues -especially guns. I doubt he'd even take his eyes off the current "poll" to consider a veto of any gun ban.

Ron Paul on the other hand...

Great speech from Feb 5th 2007 and June 26, 2006. More or less though, I have no worries that gun control would ever come from his desk.

No offense to any of course. Some might be "Hillary" fans out there. Not my place to promote like this....but just saying, as far as pro-gun is concerned, best choice from what I've seen out there. Hopefully we'll see some of the debates with him scheduled.

  3. But...You're a lefty Tony :) .... doesn't look like much room there (or is it just the angle of the pic?)/

The tube folder (ACE I think) that I ordered for mine will clear the trigger guard like you said.

Just curious on your choice for that one since you're a lefty like me (NICE looking though).

I like the light mounted up there too. Might do the same thing to mine when I get it here :)

Nice muzzle brake. Rifle-ported(?) Does it show an overall improvement with slugs on a 19"? Looks cool. Might order one of those and swap out my shark brake (drool) from time to time if that's the case.

  4. Good rant. I agree...if not contributing, try bitching less.

However, regardless if agp posts here or not, their product will be sought after. I know that (owning 30 of the mags) and they know that (since they are the only US maker that I know of for 10 rounders -hence demand for the product). Also, regardless of posting here or not, its how they deliver on things or handle PR. Personally, I think Ben handled the PR for my particular inquiry (which Im sure your rant wasnt directed at me) just fine. He made a simple statement, clarified things, and I replied with OK.

If someone inquires "one" time on a concern, and then people start barking at them "as if" they had complained 1,000 times before -that's unjust.

Labeling is easy. Its also what starts rants like that. It brings the question though...Ben pissed at the inquiry? Or pissed at the shitstorm that surrounded the inquiry? On that note, in my opinion - anybody who doesnt make a constructive comment "in lieu of" a reply from Ben, only fans the flames.

This goes for any business. I can understand Ben's frustration. I would be pissed too if others spoke on behalf of my company as to the situation. For example, implying that they (Ben/Kevin) said we are "fucktards" -is just wrong. If they "actually" said that however, well...that's just wrong for business. Believe me on that one. I digress...you're just relating the heated exchange without considering what your own actions cause as well. I'm experienced enough to know the meaning behind your words. I support them. Seriously -but to a point. Just as you would hold us to a responsibility for our posts, no less should be the case for statements such as that.

    Oh yeah, digressing.

But like I said, regardless of a business posting here or not, opinions and experiences of a business will still be there. A perfect example would be Tony from Tromix. Even if he chose to not post here anymore, do you think people would still seek him out? I think so. Heck, I know I would -and did. In fact, I made my purchase calling Tony after finding out about him through my FFL friend and then researching forums discussing his work through here -before going to his site. Only AFTER the purchase when I hung around here more did I actually find out that he posted here too. How cool is that I thought? All I'm saying in this paragraph is that reputation is going to be there. He doesnt have to partake in the questions answers -but he does. Im glad he does. Even if it means it delays my own order somewhat. With search engines getting better and better all the time, the important information will point them in the right direction. I've got nothing but respect for Tony I might add.

Also, although I've never dealt with Atlantic, I've got high respect for them too. I've seen they are indeed highly recommended from inside AND outside of this forum as well (and also from my FFL specifically mentioning Blaine). Pretty good chance I might buy something from there in the near future I think (been debating on a AR type).

AGP certainly deserves everyone's thanks for the magazine venture. That's not in dispute from me. I currently will own 30 of their mags from various sources when the next 5 arrive this Friday -which are the 1st for me that are direct from them. Take that into consideration. Odd's are I'll buy more as well (pending results from the implied statements of course). As far as my inquiry on my 1st direct order to them went, a page or so ago, I thought it was simple and straight forward. Like I said moments ago, it was answered by Ben, I was fine with it and moved on.

Aside from all that, I agree with others about not pissing in your own yard (nice analogy Juggernaut). However, I feel that IF people have a legit concern, supported by something, anything, it should be expressed. Whether that deals with the 2nd Amendment Bills proposed, dealing with Liberal professors, dealing with manufacturing or shipping delays, or simply discussing broken Halo mounts...it all should be treated with respect -from both sides of the server. To reduce such misunderstandings or frustrations in the future, perhaps direct people to a "FAQ" when it's a consistent topic. There's always room to improve things so there's less likely episodes where people blow their lid or react sarcastically. Sticky or move such topics out of general discussion and create a section for each of the contributing businesses this forum vouches for personally perhaps. Perhaps have another section with results of a poll for certain items or businesses to build confidence in those who have concerns. Making issues or blowing things out of proportion doesnt help. Helping them find the facts does.

Alas, its all a moot point. In the end, there are those with the knowledge/experience that will continue to berate those who do not. They will continue to express a suck it up statement with every reassurance they give. You could ban me or perhaps you may not Cobra (disclaimer: if, by chance, you did refer to me). That's your perogative. Max might take down the board tomorrow or perhaps not as well. I think that would suck though (and happy B-day I might add). In the end though, careful consideration of what is defined as contributing should be considered -whether its advice/information, or monetary. In my opinion, if a person is obviously categorized as being harmful to the community as a whole...they simply "go away" one day. No rants. Nothing for the search engines to archive...just poof.

PS: #433, ordered Feb 13th, should be here on Friday.

  5. Personally, I try my best to review the person/business I wish to work with. Took me some time -but in the end, Tony R. from Tromix is world renown and won my business. Seriously.

After speaking to the man himself to place my 1st order, I've found absolutely no reason to doubt the integrity, value, or reliability in work he does when comparing to what I've read from others. Communication is (not: was) top notch too. Well worth the wait in my opinion.

Besides, imagine the value of one should he retire (heaven forbid -but you have to take that into account for firearm investments). You own a Tromix?

    Yeah...that's what I'm talking about.

My values are simple and old fashioned. A handshake is a handshake, a gentleman is a gentleman, and a lady a lady etc. There are times to give and bend in any deal. Ya know...don't sweat the small stuff when dealing with person to person. Trust happens usually once...and vouching for someone is a huge deal.

Sorry you having such a bad experience. I can't think there's anyone that's never bought something and then afterward found out the bad reviews. Heck, the better business bureau wouldn't need to exist if that were true. All I can suggest is take the steps you feel you need to take to resolve the issue....and apply that knowledge to your next purchase as a lesson learned -just as I'm taking your experience as a factor in any of my future purchases as well.

After reading about "Fuzzy Bunny" customer service responses -pass. On the flipside though, I wasn't there.

Anyway, I digress. This is one of the reasons I like staying around these forums. Past all our differences, we try to support each other. Members here are truly a force to be reckoned with for most issues: Laws, personal clout, business clout -nothing personal its just business,..... and no shortage of opinion on Zombie tactical defense).

Then again...this is only one guy's opinion here. Take it for what you will for future shopping.

Oh... +1 on Rocinate's avatar. One of the other great highlights I liked in this thread (and in these forums).

Reminds me to stop it with all the negative waves mannnn.

Why do I own so many Assault Weapons? Zombies of course. Why do you ask?

  6. Keep in mind that not all mag wells on AK style receivers are created equal. Some are simply far too tight for a few mags I pick up -yet the magazine that comes with the rifle fits like a charm.

Well.. essentially from what I was told (from gunsmith), the person making the AK uses the mag as a template, files the receiver until a nice fit.... taps the ash from his cigarette.... done. Next.

Of course, when you buy other mags the fit isn't always that simple (or downright impossible).

    A couple choices...

    1) file out the mag well a LITTLE bit to not be so tight (I've seen several that won't even go in unless you wedge them in place). You can take metal off...you cant replace it (let's not get too technical people).

    2) file / sand down the magazine to fit into the well.

    Then repaint (if required).

...........Of course, if the issue is that you have 10 thumbs and not used to "rocking it into place": Practice makes perfect.

  7. Only deforms I've had or problems "feeding" have dealt with Winchester shells (regardless).

The overall performance though is 90% reliable in my opinion for 00 buck, 4 shot, or slugs. Its just the deforming of the shell against the bolt is more common....and when "rapid" firing the 2 3/4 shells they dont always find the chamber.

Personally, I think winchester is light on their powder and it affects a good "cycle"...but they are cheap.

Remmington Sluggers are absolutely no issues at all. Remmington 4 shot express rounds are no issues at all either (on 1 setting for all of this I might add).

Federal 00 buck. Decent... more for reliability on what you have for home. Certainly not something to consistently buy for the range.

Given a preference. Type of shot for shot... I prefer the Remmingtons. Solid company =and dropped that anti-gun tard in a heartbeat. That's worth a few extra boxes from me in my book.

Keep in mind, and has been stated before -your gun will be different until it breaks in. Best advice...buy a few different rounds.

Oh...and sabots. Save your money. Slugs will be just as effective (or better) through your un-rifled cylinder bore. Don't bother with sabots. You want more range? Get an RPK or something.

  8. Captured Zombies are my guess.

<edit> LOL....come to think about, I think this Halloween I will find a few people to dress up as Zombies this year and sit them at a long table....hand them screwdrivers and a bunch of my mags all over the table. Should be a good pic for the AGP team :)

    (all rights reserved though).

  10. For the record... I had a private message with him on some ideas on how to rewrite the description etc etc.

Seems a decent fellow. And if MAA buys in bulk from AGP to keep prices lower than it would cost to buy from there... its a win/win/win.

AGP less can concentrate on manufacturing.

    Distributor gets good sales.

    You get decent price.

I still don't like the pre-order concept. In stock should mean "in stock". Ok..I'm digressing. MAA deserves a shot since they immediately became a business member and are promoting the AGP product. That's leaps ahead of many others Im sure. Has to count for something.

My earlier comment was based on the "how they were doing it" part. On that note, at least for these forums, its probably just better to say "AGP mags for sale" and leave it at that. We all know the mag by now (and newbies can't miss them since their in just about everyone's gun pic lol).

  11. Indeed...those pallets. Probably some of the best pics on the forums.

Once I get my Tromix in April (give or take), I'll probably send my stock one out for the conversion.

If they think they'll knee jerk-pass something stupid for the country (in my opinion -of course).... then likely I'll have to change those plans. Hope you have call waiting :)

  12. 3rd.... try original advertising. It will lessen the chance for being sued for copyright issues. Duplicate content (copy and paste of advertising) lowers search engine rankings and therefore affects the business of agparms.com -hence copyright infringement is applicable.

However, If you're a reseller of the AGParms product and authorized to advertise in such a way.......well not my call or my business. It's Ben's.

Well, good luck. I'll stick with the source.

  13. Hmm...

Perhaps Tony can shed some light on things like the Shark Brake (similar to what you show in the pic -but not the same)?

Maybe a particular vent design is better (safer) for shotguns?

I've seen the AK74 brakes out there etc as well. Seeing things like that and understanding the composition of a shotshell, makes me wonder about the safety factor on all such brakes like that.

What were you shooting out of it? Brand/shot type? Home loads? Sabots?

Was it a door breach test and thats the "feedback" from gas pressure when you jam it to the door? (law enforcement types might know this answer).

Is it a "choke" that was then vented (then you shot something that you should'nt through the choked brake?)

What is that one it made out of? Was the muzzle threaded or done afterward (alignment issue?)

Looks like its on an SBS. Wonder how that changes the effectiveness of brakes like that.

Wow...that raised a few questions with me.

  14. You can see it as a "whine" all you like. That's just skewed vision of reading text that has neither tone nor inflection of my voice. I'll help clarify it now for you though.

I said I was disconcerted and provided facts. So before you all go tossing your armor on to go rushing to the walls of AGP on this one, consider that this order was only for 5 mags. Regardless though...5 or 50 it matters not when its in the order received. It was a relatively "minor" issue but it was one I thought to bring forth.

I have 20 other mags from other purchases (which are AGP brand). With the 5 mags I just recently received from another "gunsmith" from these forums -yet a another order going through a "one-stop shopping" moment, that brings me to a grand total of 25 AGP mags sitting in my closet as we speak. Now I'm just waiting on the order that is direct from them to make 30......So yes, one way or another, my "support" and my "thanks" to this company is there........as well as gunsmiths here on these forums.

Thanking for support. Indeed. How about thanking me for my support? I just donated $100 to here. Just now because I felt like it. I thought about it before, but wasnt sure if I would "hang out" here or not.

    <side note> I didn't bother investing/pursuing in the shrike. I considered it for a while though.

I figured I could buy C-Mags for less cost, noise, loading hassles, and mess. But that's my opinion on it.

Belt or Mag? The C-mag has better features capacity for capacity.

  15. Havent done clays since 6th grade. Might want to consider a choke before taking the 19" Saiga to a range like that.

As stated...they arent the easiest things to hit. --The type of Shot and Pattern are important on those flying saucers of death.

I agree that if you go with the intent to "just curous how it would perform against clays" ......that uppity crowd might give a tip or two.

Respect given is respect earned. After all, there's plenty of vets that turn to skeet after retiring from "the field". Might just give you a tip that saves your life one day.

...or maybe some 3 gun as well and there's more free advice.

  16. I ordered 5 mags on the 13th......at the time, it said "in stock".

Terms say "in stock" parts and accessories are normally shipped within 48 hours and most are within 2 weeks (as an estimate).

Disconcerting since -because I was "#433" on the 13th.

Also disconcerting because there's been no reply to my email on the 27th asking for tracking information or why it hasn't shipped yet.

Why is this important? Well some of us travel for business purposes.

My point (and I know about shipped in order received -not trying to cut ANYONE out of order)...is that I thought I was purchasing for a batch "in stock" and not "financing" a stock to be made.

    I digress...should be relatively soon.

    Ben?

  17. I have a SIG-556 now in my "collection" (low number too lol ... 000125x). It has a nice Eotech 512.A65 series on it now.

Excellent weapon --just waiting on spring for some good quality range time on it.

The piston and trigger are well beyond belief I might add.
