  1. I ordered 5 mags on the 13th......at the time, it said "in stock". Terms say "in stock" parts and accessories are normally shipped within 48 hours and most are within 2 weeks (as an estimate). Disconcerting since -because I was "#433" on the 13th. Also disconcerting because there's been no reply to my email on the 27th asking for tracking information or why it hasn't shipped yet. Why is this important? Well some of us travel for business purposes. My point (and I know about shipped in order received -not trying to cut ANYONE out of order)...is that I thought I was purchasing f
  2. I have a SIG-556 now in my "collection" (low number too lol ... 000125x). It has a nice Eotech 512.A65 series on it now. Excellent weapon --just waiting on spring for some good quality range time on it. The piston and trigger are well beyond belief I might add. ~S
  3. Well Im glad to see mine was on the "top" of that hehehe ~S

    Grease!

Hmm... Thats an interesting question. When I have a nice and "clean" S12, I can hear the piston move around nicely. I can thread/unthread that end cap with no issues at all. After a day at the range though =sheesh. Needs to be "helped" a little bit to take off. --even then, the piston will not come out without some prep work (scrape the residue a little bit and some oil). (I leave on position "1" by the way). I was considering some sort of gun grease on at least the threads. That way the powder wouldnt work its way onto the threads. ~But I figured that since the tube would he
  5. Litmus test: It's a home defense SHTF situation: <Do this in slow motion>....... ---->> "Ohhhhh Craaaaaaaaappp".......<now lean back and reach behind you "as if" grabbing for your gun> There's an S12 and 870 side by side. Which do YOU grab? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ S12 any day or night of the week for me. Period. Dot. Also, I can't think of any sane intruder that would stick around after a full slap to the bolt on an S12 -regardless if they could identify the sound. ~S
  6. I'm a lefty... its an advantage to cycle the bolt. Never had any issues at all with any AK style weapon. In fact, the BHO (after grip moves forward to the converted position) is actually easier to "thumb it" as needed. Only issue I would see is that the extended mag release (if you install the push device) would have to be flipped to the left side for that index finger. Tony R. *(Tromix) is a lefty too I might add. If you get one, he'll make sure the folder type stock selected will not interfere with holding the weapon. ~S
  7. Should've added that bathtubs kill more Americans each year than "Assault" weapons (by definition) -and they should look it up. I like the previous letter though. ~S
  8. A couple questions: Who converted. Threads on end of barrel? Can I swap out to a Tromix folder easy (or do I require some different plate etc) Does it have a BHO (is it a 108 or 109?) Also...you say you havent fired yet but on auction it says fired 25 times? Close enough to you to do FTF I might add ~S
  9. I never really asked anyone... but does a "sporter" type stock like that (since it connects all around) still keep it legal not force a full converstion because of a pistol grip? Or do you have to do the rest to get under 10 foreign parts? In this case it appears converted (trigger group moved forward)... I'm talking about the 922r stuff for similar stocks on "base" models

  11. Lol.... half the reason people come here is for finding new accessories or mods to do. Keep your credit cards close. Its addictive. ~S
  12. I'll see about making some close up shots for little things like that. Probably will get something up this weekend (sorry...just have to wait). As for the gas piston up front....couldn't be simpler. 1) there's a small area up front where a piston slides back and forth (about the size of $1.50 in quarters stacked). 2) the end cap is labeled "1" and 2". ---1 is for high power loads because it cuts off more gas flow, ---2 is for normal use. Once you pull it out and orientate it in your hand with each of the positions you can see that oversized-chisel shape and see what I mean. 3) t
  13. Umm.... looks like the stock portion "lifts" and then rotates to the left? I dont have one of those (yet) so not positive on that one...just looking at the curves of the bracket there on top that looks like an "L" Or is it that the "L" pushes down and the lower portion doesnt move, and then the spring compresses when the middle section moves down? Nice looking stock if I do say so
  14. Macbeau: Without quoting the entire itemized -yet narrowly focused rant and wasting forum space, I'll just say that I know more about constitutional and criminal law than you apparently realize. If you wish to attack my views, and widely recognized interpretations on what the 2nd Amendment means, at least have a coherent understanding of the English language, and legal foundations to refute my rights. Yes, the 2nd Amendment does state: 'A well-regulated Militia, being necessary for the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infring
  15. After clicking on Miss Fancypants link and then looking to contact....it eventually leads to here: http://www.house.gov/writerep/ http://www.house.gov/writerep/ Just find your rep *(favorite place that) and go to your reps page and blast off a message. Side note: the "formatting" for paragraphs will not work...it will be like one long paragraph. So be SURE you use periods or something. ~S
  16. Just wrote my congress rep on that one... H.R. 1022: To reauthorize the assault weapons ban, and for other purposes This is being introduced by Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY). I must say I am annoyed. All too often people KNEE JERK react to do such things like this. Often its the other things involved that get overlooked. For example, let's take that kid who shot up the mall in Salt Lake. Here we had an off duty police officer who had a concealed weapon. To me, I see this as NO (let me be clear) different than a law abiding citizen protecting others and stopping the threat. Because
  17. I would certainly hope it was not MY personal information. Shouldn't be though since I ordered mine a few hours after those posts above, the site was down, and then returned. But still. I hope you certainly fixed that.
  18. Site is up. Ordered 5 more.
  19. Saw this elsewhere in the forums here...too funny to pass up My 1st came with the regular BHO on mine. The Tromix I'm waiting on will have a BHO as well. ...considering to convert things to LRBHO Where's the step by step at? ~S
  20. What is the best way to prepare? Well without going too much into my background (Force Recon), or listing a resume for others to pick apart because it doesn't meet "their" criteria, I would say that the original argument is NO different than the original alternative. That is, it discussed something along the lines of "hedging their bets" for financial future investments. Just as it was stated that a "financial" advisor would make suggestions, so too will the prudent survivalist advisor. "I will be sitting on a huge pile of cash when I retire, not cases of ammo, MRE's, and cans of
  21. I understand As for the comfort. I have that folding grip up front and its very solid comfort in either position. Without the grip it still feels solid in my hands. If I wasnt going with the verticle grip then I like Gary's idea as well.
