  1. To LOVESGASOLINE

I have the SAIGA-12,got it last year. Before I could try it a tree attacked wile I was cleaning up from last august's hurricane. Shattered both bones in right ancle left collarbone in 3 pieces. I finnally took the SAIGA-12 out a couple weeks ago. I was wondering if the recoil would be too much. WHAT recoil?I put maybe 30 to 40 rounds through that sucker with no discomfort at all. Felt more like a 16 gauge or .410 My sons and son inlaws were with me they had a remington pump.We went through 150 shells mostly with the SAIGA. The guys said the felt recoil of the pump was MUTCH heavier. I only had a slip on recoil pad(3/4in). I have since gotten blackjack buffer pads for the action,I haven't tried these yet but I understand this will further reduce recoil and greatly increases accuracy in AK type actions. My point is maybe a SAIGA in 12 gauge would serve your purpose. And if the20 is simular to it's bigger brother I don't think you will be dissapointed with it either.

On the bolt hold-open,it is not hard to load without one,is real easy to load with one.Mine has been on order for a while.

LOL hope you like yours , mine is a BLAST!

Parts are gettin eiser to find, soon I will do a post with some sites that I have found.

  2. Great points guys.As near as I can de-cipher fed rules.Shuotguns detachable mag 5 round max. Many state laws 3 round IN weapon for hunting-requires 2 round mag(due to 2+1)Do not lose your gun because you also have a 5 round mag "in possesion" this could be in gear bag or even vehicle if you piss off the wrong LEO/warden/ DNR.

Also shotgun detachable mag NO other "EVIL"features. The rule banning large cap. mags is the same one that makes streetsweepers illeagal. They became"weapons with no sporting purpose". I am serious about painting my SAIGA-12 cammo and putting pheasant and deer decals on stock and handguard. There is no need to feed the paranoids - we all love to rattle their chains, but we will be better served working to return logic and intelligence to firearms regulations. Pushing these morons buttons just concentrates their attention on our hobby. It would be better to let them go back to comlaining about SUV'S.

Back to my SAIGA-12 Mine came with 19 inch barrell and full(1MM)choke.It loves 1/0/00 buckshot, tight pattern! To get greater flexibility,I am going to have the barrell bored for rem-choke tubes.Hastings makes an en extended rifled tube 5"called a"paradox".this should do well with sub-calibre sabot slugs the same as the Saga paradox device that seems to be made of "unobtanium"also hastings makes a "metro"barrel extension 32" long and ported to 'reduce report' I have no need for the metro but I have seen several postings of people looking for a way to practice without disturbing neighbors.

  3. Hey assassan I would go with the30-06, if no other reason than it comes in more loadings than any 3 other calibers combined.I sporterized an 03-A3 springfield maybe 25 years ago,and this would be the one if GOD FORBID I could only save one!! It has mauser type action BEST safty ever made and EXCELLENT iron sights(garrand type). Use it to drive tent pegs,whatever-it always works. On this side of the pond 30-06 ammo is every where. I have shot everything from 55grain (22cal.discarding sabot) to 220 grain cast from linotype metal! Military surplus is still cheap and readily available. This one will drop it if you can see it.

One old mans humble opinion! LOL.

Also regarding STUPID gun laws-the U.S.army and innumerable law enforcement departments use the barretta 9mm made in the peoples republic of maryland.Guess where the are illeagle to buy??We also cannot OWN clips in excess of 20 rounds capacity :ded:

  4. I'm wondering what is going on myself. Ordered two bolt hold opens of feb.5. My e-mail was screwed for a while,so I telephoned.Twice both times i was promised a reply. Hasn't happened yet also my email is ok now,but I have not gotten a reply after several attempts. Anyone know WTF! I don't mind working with someone, but if they won't return my calls and emails I can only assume that they are in trouble, or have taken the money and run.

  5. Good point I will now be wearing eye proyection when cleaning my guns(just getting ready to do that now).I also reccomend wearing nitrile gloves-they are like surgical gloves except blue in color and oil resistant. Pretty cheap at auto supply,

These will also stop salty fingerprints that lead to corrosion especially if the weapon is stored for awile.

  6. WE definitly need to keep sending letters to our congressmen and senators the AWB is a p.o.s. This has got to go! Meanwhile,I am going to paint my saiga-12 cammo--put decals of deer, turkey and pheasant on stock and handguard. These gunbanners see black and yell assault rifle --evil --must --sieze!! Here in maryland DNR requests deer be covered if transporting, the antigunners are not very intelligent they will talk about the last thing they saw,and not knowing what they are talking about don`t confuse them with facts.I figure pictures of game will register "sporting shotgun" remember we are NOT dealing with rational poeple here.(IMHO).

Keep the faith baby NON CARBURUNDIUM ILLIGITIMI EST
