  1. A while back Military gun supply had a stack of rear reciever sections for Romy's for sale, Included trunion stock and Trigger guard, I picked up a few extra when I was buying some Romy kits. Centerfire sells them without the mag catch, which BTW your Saiga does come with one! Just need to find a rivet or salvage your rivet. BTW if you dont have a triggerguard jig, you need to get one. I have been using diff methods of doing the guards on my build and ran accross a used Jig, it takes less than 5 mins to do the triggerguard and the rivets look awesome! worth all $35 I paid f
  2. I picked this up NIB off a board member here, got it in yesterday and had some spare time this afternoon. So far I have $250 gun, $12 triggerguard, $3 rivets, $40 in Triggerguard rivet jig, and 1.5 hours. I figured for the tim involved might as well use a Real AK triggerguard and not jimmy up the old TG. I have a Stock on order also a PG and trigger group, I am waiting on my Polish underfolder recievers to get here figured I would piddle with this while I wait!
  3. I tested my ML2 and found that the added 10 ozs was too much for me, YMMV. Maybe if I had a Vltor M-4 telescoping stock and spare batteries in the inserts to bring rear balance, it would not have been that bad. Ah, live and learn. BTW, nice looking AK. Where did you get the side folding stock? Kinda looks like a Tromix rear stock I think, dont quote me there though
  4. I am wanting to build something AK 105ish. Not really, just mainly interested in putting a Front sight/Gas block on a 223 Saiga, My question is will the Bulgy one from KVAR work? Also Krebs makes one that clamps on, will it work? Krebs Description.. I am building something like this, Except not using the HK style sights, I would like either AK series sights or the Krebs sight.
  5. I would like the 223 16" saiga, will try to send PM or E-mail
  6. I am gearing up for building another AK, I have done at least 10 builds so far a few Romy G kits, a couple polish underfolders, and AMD 65 and 63, and I have a tutorial on AR15.com on how to convert a WASR-10. I was looking into buying a 5.56 parts kit and going that direction, but for some reason they are really proud of them, even thought about converting a WASR3 or whatever but would still be left with a romy gun. Anyway I have this sort of planned out but not completely. I want to build one similar to this. I plan on achieving this using a saiga 20" barrel version. I
  7. If the AR front sight post is an issue, you can file it down a tad, Guess I will just have to get the parts in front of me and go from there, The only onther option I have found is the TROMIX G3 sight set, but I think he will just weld that onto my gas block.
  8. I reload for my 223 AR15's cause the brass that comes out of them is still useable, but anything I put in my sar 3 is always bent all to hell so there isnt any point in trying. I can deal with the case mouth being dented or bent, but when it puts bends midway down the case or in the shoulder it pretty much scraps it.
  9. so going with the Romy or Bulgy front sight/block combo is a better idea maybe? Romy Bulgy
  10. Not sure what's going on with your thread. I have replyed twice and it will not post...Anyway here goes number three. The only issue I have seen posted about this block is the fact that it is a 45deg gas block. When developing the AK74' the Russians orgionally used the 45deg gas blocks with a drilled 45deg gas port. They had problems with part of the bullets jackets shearing from the lead core, so they switched to a 90deg gas port and a 90deg drilled gas port. All that said the Rommys on their AIMS74's are still using the older style 45deg gas block with (and I am totally guessing here) pro
  11. I am working up the numbers and I wants for a SAIGA conversion on my 223, here is the plan so far, SAIGA 223 20" barrel, Cut the barrel at 18 or so inches, Replace the gas block with a block/sight combo, like the 100 series AK's, Anyway I havent found a picture of one on a rifle yet, but am real interested in anyones input if you have this Item! I posted on the Krebs thread also,
