  1. Hey thanks for the tip. I did not think about that.
  2. Hi- Before I bought some new snap cap or other training shells I was looking to see if anyone had some they had sitting around that they would like to sell. Thanks!
  3. Wow that has been sitting around. I am truely surprised no one has responded. Would you be interested in a straight trade? http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=45282 John
  4. I did not have it swapped out. I don't think SAI sapped them before moving the to CDNN. I ave had no problems with any FTE. It was throwing them against the wall of the lane at a normal velocity. Mine is a 2005 by the serial number. I think the laterones did not have the issues. From the Steyr Club forum I know there were issues but SAI sent a replacement o questions asked. I tried to get a stove pipe after a rapid 15 + 1 and no dice with just blazer brass!
  5. Open to trades now of equal value give or take a nickle or too. Saiga 7.62, Used Ruger Mini 14 Ranch rifle or of the sort. Whatever just send a P.M.. Looking for a good shtf gun.
  6. Hi- Steyr Pistol Package $420.00 I have had the Steyr pistol for 8 months in the safe. Sole owner. Purchased from CDNN. It has less than 100 rounds through the pipe. (Just Blazer Brass with no FTF or FTE!) Package includes 4 factory 15 round mags and an upgraded alloy guide rod. Basically a safe queen. Price reflects pistol ($370) and two brand new extra mags(50.00) I am including the alloy guide (40.00) at basically no charge to sweeten the deal. I still have the factory guide rod,Steyr case, and all manuals. Shipping will be at buyers expense and shipped to his/her FFL. I would reque

  9. So I am taking a wild guess that this is considered a SBR is the barrel is less than 16 inches?
  10. I thank you with your guys advice I am going to keep the saiga and my hiking clothes. I have someone looking to sell a good russian optic that would enhance the effectiveness of the rifle. As for the conceivability I would have the steyr on the hip but still have a concern about the car. The steyr would probably have 115 or 124 grain hollow point ammo for defense but I have a jeep chrerokee where there is no place for a "trunk gun." I was just pondering the thought of something like a hi-point .45 with ball ammo for the car if I had to shoot through another vehicle. I saw this web page ht
  11. So would you consider the plr16 a fun plinker or a good go gun to hide in a bacK pack. I heard that it is deafening indoors to the point blood shoots out your ears. I have a similiar post about the sub 2000 as a gun not to draw attention in a shtf scenario. The saiga 7.62 would be for defending a house but any emergency travel I would like something small and powerful. Another member suggested a cz-52 because of it's awesome penetration if I get in a skirmish car to car. I just have the "gun" bug. the keltec would be an expensive item compared to the cz-52.
  12. The nice thing about single is I know how to shop and feel I am getting to a comfortable level with food, supplies, and even dog food. The other plus is I have a lot of hiking gear like butane stove and other small lightweight stuff. Desertdog is bring up exactly the stuff people need to hear. I hope that you post this in the shtf area. I have gotten sone good feedback on the cz-52. That buick the shot up showed the damage the shrapnel can do. I think I would choose the cz-52 over the sub 2000 for the fact that the car would be be escape or emergency only and I would have the saiga. If

  14. You need to concentrate on a single system and it sounds like you have the AK well underway.Get your optics, spare parts, mags, ammo and any fine tuning or gunsmithing you might want worked out on your AK before spending another dime on anything else. Those 2 guys above must have gotten some KelTec lemons because I have yet to see one fail to go bang but they are plastic and you can break them but then again you can break an M16 by stepping on it or flipping open the upper receiver too hard so that's not a total indictment of the system but if you added the total life span of a sub2k,su16 an
  15. I am 6"1' and in good shape. I live in south florida where chaos would probably prevail. It would be a bug in scenario. I would hope that I could flee to my parents house that is about 15 minutes away. I think if I put the kvar stock back on and maybe buy a good russian optic the saiga will stay. I took off the wire stock because the check wield sucks. It is even more compact with my drugonov stock. The steyr is a wonderful pistol and one that I am getting better shooting with both eyes open with it's trapazoid sights. I found a keltec plr 16 today for 300.00. The issue is another cal
  16. With money tight and the state of the world I was thinking that I might sell my converted saiga and use the proceeds for a keltec sub 2000 9mm carbine and buy a mossberg 590 or winchester 1300. I live in a fairly densely populated area so I sometimes think of the 7.62 being overkill in a cqb scenario because I would be in a bug in situation. The appeal is it could fit in a backpack and I could share the same +p JHP as the steyr pistol. The shotgun would give the rest of the puch. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
  17. WTB: Looking if anyone has some extra that would like to sell. CDNN charges 14.99 to ship just mags now!
  18. I have always left feedback for everyone but I wanted to show/remind everyone how lucky we are to have such a kick ass forum. I had a WTB pistol nut ad. Everywhere online was going to charge an obscene amount. Chevymann contacted me and I mailed him an empty envelope and six bucks. Two for shipping and four for the pistol nut. I got back the envelope quickly and he also included four of those nylon plugs. Needless to say, I think everyone should consider chevymann an excellent member and trustworthy seller that would go the distance! Best, John
