The South African surplus stuff shoots great in mine !! ... It's kinda mild for the NATO stuff ... I haven't run any thru the chrono yet but I'm guessing 2500 fps ...

Well ... I'm totally convinced ... I have an S12 in the vault waiting to be converted ... I will wait on Tony and from what I understand it may very well be next Fall before he can get to it ... I don't care !! Mine will be a Tromix conversion !! ... Never be afraid to get the best ... You'll never be dissapointed ...

I just paid $419.00 for a new one last week ... glad I was able to get one this time around and join the "club" ...

Yeah ... I think NATO/SAW in black ... nothing to far out ... as far as wood goes I love it ... so much that all of my AK's have it ... Russian and Polish laminated ... Chinese Chu-wood ... 'bout time for some "Plastic" I'd say ... I hate to copy someone's weapon but I like what I see on here !! ... I'll give credit where it's due ...

I haven't even picked up my S12 and I'm already contemplating which stock to install ... I have pretty much decided on a Black K-Var unit but I'm undecided ... Longer NATO or shorter Warsaw Pact ... Kinda leaning toward the NATO length due to the 18"/19" barrel ... Better proportions plus I'm 6'4" tall with long arms ... anybody have a preference or bought one and wished they'd bought the other for any reason ? any coments on pistol grip preference would be appreciated also ... I like the look of the "SAW" style some of you guys are sporting but have heard they're kinda cheap

+1 on the adj diopter ... if you wear glasses you'll need it ... 6X should be fine ... I had an 8X42 and it was a bit much and you've got more FOV (field of view) with the 6X ... Personally I'd watch eBay or the various boards for a good used one and save a few $$$ ... IMHO

So ....... I've been lurking for a total of 30 minutes probably ... I see a bunch of guys I know from other boards ... I missed the first batch of 12 ga. Saiga's ... I'm calling my dealer in the morning and ordering a 12 ga. with a 19" barrel ... Not going to miss this again !! ... Looks like too much fun !! I'll be around ... reading and listening and looking for a deal on some Hi-Cap mags and other stuff ... I have trade goods from Russia and other places and already own 5 AK's in various flavors - 2 RPK's - 1 L1A1 and an UZI just to name some of my "Evil" stuff ... I'm rud
