  1. I try not to fly for work anymore. If I can drive there, that's how I'm getting there. I've treated POW's with more respect than the way some of these TSA clowns treat passengers. Fuck em.
  2. I was told by a vendor here that they don't sell their products to NJ residents because they don't support NJ's anti-gun policies. Period. Nothing about legality or possibly running afoul of NJ restrictions. So I just said OK, made a mental note never to buy from this vendor regardless of what state I end up living in, and order from somewhere else. He gets to run his business however he sees fit and I get to spend my money on whomever I see fit. Win-win.
  3. Rasta, I was going to mention the bread but Azrial beat me to it. It's the bread that defines the Philly Cheese Steak. Most of us take ours with American Cheese. The only people in Philly I've seen eating Cheese Steaks with cheese whiz are tourists. Seriously. Now back to your menu, there's a couple of variations that might be readily available for you. One is the pizza steak, which is basically the beef cooked in spaghetti sauce and served with or without cheese (provolone works best on this one). The other is a cheese steak hoagie, a cheese steak served with shredded lettuce, tomato, sa
  4. Congratulations! I tell you though, E5 is one of the best ranks ever. Even as a Gunny I miss the days of being a Sergeant.
  5. Special Forces have been doing that for some time now. If they are being used as a force multiplier, they instruct and train the locals on the weapons that they will be using. The cheapest and most prolific assault rifle around is the AK. If their mission calls for covert stuff, the last thing they want to do is advertise their presence by leaving all sorts of 5.56 NATO brass lying around. Also if they use calibers easily found in their area of operation then in theory ammo resupply is easier than bringing it up from the rear. So it's really a matter of practicality and not necessarily becaus
  6. It's different and yes, it will take some getting used to. I really could care less about colors or functionality, I'm just glad the board is back up. I'll figure the rest out for myself. Many thanks to Makc for maintaining this site!
  7. I love my Winchester 1300. I have the 26" barrel also but managed to find an 18" barrel on flea-bay a few years back. That action is slicker than greased snot. I'm glad you managed to get reunited with your first guns.
  8. You'll need the gas tube with the upper retainer and then a bolt on retainer for the lower piece of the fore-grip. Both items can be found at Dinzag's site, www.dinzagarms.com East80, I'd be interested to know how you stained both sets of furniture. They turned out real nice.
  9. I was 16 at the time and maybe weighed 110 soaking wet! Also it wasn't even my shotgun. My best friend at the time used to go trap shooting with his dad almost every weekend during the fall. Yeah, I sucked pretty bad until we figured out what I was doing wrong! And thanks for your thoughts and prayers. I've been out for a few years now but recently had a bit of a reunion this past Monday at Arlington. One of my former lance corporals (now Sergeant) was killed in a firefight in Afghanistan a few weeks ago. We buried him on Monday and it was an impressive ceremony. It was good to get caught
  10. Ha! He did say it could be due to his noob-ness! When I first started shooting shotguns I shot low. It wasn't until the very first time that I had a dud round that I realized I was pushing the thing as I was pulling the trigger. If the internet had been invented back then, I might have been able to realize my problem and had it fixed in a matter of days.
  11. Wow Camon, this thing does look adjustable. If it's anything like the rest of the weapon, you need to give it a good smack to get it to move. Maybe a piece of scrap leather under a brass punch? I've never had to adjust mine. Try benching it and see where it shoots. Might give you an idea if it's you or the weapon.
  12. Nope, it is the stock sight. And It looks adjustable. Hmm...learn something new everyday. I'm gonna have to take a closer look at that when I get home.
  13. Camon, I don't think you can adjust windage on a stock rear sight. Do you have an aftermarket sight installed?
  14. norinco98lover, Before you start tearing into the rifle for conversion, please take a moment to shoot it first. That way, if you identify any issues that need to be resolved through warranty service, it can be done. At least one member found out the hard way that his rails were misaligned or something like that after he had converted the weapon.
  15. Thanks for all the chuckles! It's been fun watching you scream and cry like a little baby after getting your card yanked. Now excuse me while I add you to the ignore list.
  16. Bridis, my reply did go over your head. We understand that we post opinions for the most part while there are some hardcore experts that post facts about the Saigas. Some post when we're drunk, some post when we're pissed, and some post when we're having a pretty good day. Sometimes we're wrong, and sometimes we learn something new. That's the reason we have the forum in the first place, an open exchange of ideas, opinions, and facts. Mind the word "open" because we take it to mean that anyone can post any damn thing they want. But when someone comes along and comments that so-and-so
  17. I've seen on this on qual ranges. Maybe not all 10 rounds but some guys shoot a center mass group that I could cover with my hand with 2 or 3 flyers. This is on an issue M16, prone, loop sling, and someone who knows what they are doing behind the trigger. I've pulled off head shots on the standard silhouette target for this range with open sights. I'd already qual'd as expert before heading to the 500 yard line (I was at 40 points) so I just started dicking around. I aimed high on the torso and started walking my rounds to the head. I missed three in the neck area so I think I ended up with a
  18. Not that I'm a big fan of the NRA (I'm not) but didn't he get an "A" rating from them?
  19. WTF??? You're better off duct-taping a strong magnet to the rail. That way you can at least quickly remove the pistol...you know, when everyone else is pointing and laughing at your ridiculous setup.
