Cut Shells

Then there was the old trick of squirting honey into the round with a hypodermic to keep the shot together and make it pattern tighter. That was most used as a way of cheating at the Turkey Shoots! Well Southern Style Turkey Shoots anyway, down here we use a gauge, up North they use a rifle from what I hear. -
Anybody run 'em stock?
Azrial replied to piston556's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
No, I have little use for a stock gun, because the original design has been perverted. But. hey, if you like yours, great. -
Oddball bolt action shotgun.
Azrial replied to Professional Troll's topic in Other Weapons - SHOTGUNS (non-AK based)
Yes, I have an old Mossberg 12 gauge bolt action. It is mag fed and I have always considered that it would make as good a "Master Key" as any. -
It's the way it is designed. With pressure applied as I said above, it keeps the hammer from dropping without a pull of the trigger. Without the pressure, the hammer releases easily with impact. With a magazine inserted, the pistol will never slam-fire. ... So, the last two rounds always double? Doubtful. This is a ripoff 1911 design, and it is quite common for a 1911 to fall to half cock if it has had a trigger job and there is no magazine in the pistol. If it falls to strike the firing pin, that is another issue.

Where did you score the Chinese Stock? That is one of my favorite AK stocks! Good job!

It is hard to see how a pistol that malfunctioned in the way described would not continue to slam fire after the first round was discharged by a normal trigger pull.

Cut Shells

This is an old school method and of course it works. I was taught this years ago as an emergency procedure at the police academy. On the other hand you will never compete with the accuracy of modern slugs. -
I have never had e-Clips fail, to fail. Every time I have used them I have found at least one loose in the firearm after a firing session. Apparently, some folks have been more lucky...

It means "Defective," why do you ask? Sorry, some people believe that it is the name of a German Importer that some of the guns were shipped through. It is not a normal word in German or Russian.

Nice honest review. Thanks!

Which 9mm? Any advice and Exp please.
Azrial replied to sjgusmc21's topic in Other Weapons - HANDGUNS
Once again I concur with Yakdung! However, if you must have steel, there is nothing wrong with a good old GP35, AKA Browning High Power! This pistol is proven and has most likely serviced more bad guys then every other 9mm mentioned... except maybe the Glock! -
pistol grip conversion (AK builder vs. Carolina shooters)
Azrial replied to shootsguns's topic in Saiga-12
I use AK Builder stuff on homebuilt AKs. I love their double lower rail! BUT... I would go with Carolina Shooters Supply in this area! They have mush more Saiga experience in my opinion, sell quality products, have an excellent reputation for customer service and helped pay for you to find the answer to your question. -
do i need a new stock when converting saiga to unsporting configuratio
Azrial replied to shootsguns's topic in Saiga-12
Pretty damned big of you! Perhaps I was a bit harsh as well, but these wars are first fought with words and lies until the public is comfortable with the Paradigm shift, then the laws are changed to nullify our rights and give the new status quo teeth! It really makes little sense to learn your firearm terminology from the news media and expect to be well received here. -
do i need a new stock when converting saiga to unsporting configuratio
Azrial replied to shootsguns's topic in Saiga-12
Your query is what Lawyers call a "When did you stop beating your wife question" if I have ever seen one. Let me answer your question with a couple of questions. 1. What in the world makes you think putting a pistol grip on a shotgun makes it "unsporting". 2. Why in the world would you even phrase a question in that way? The entire concept of "sporting and unsporting" is nothing more than a bogus construct invented by gun haters to separate law abiding gun owners from their second amendment rights. Why do you have to be a dick about it. He's a newbie looking for info li -
Lewis and Clark's Air Rifle
Azrial replied to Cobra 76 two's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Pretty Interesting, not that I could hear it. My sound is broke right now! What is also interesting is the old European view of Air Rifles, that they were the weapons of assassins due to there comparative silence and lack of smoke signature. Many countries baned them at the time. -
It will of course, all mechanical things will. Your grandkids should be concerned...

Yeah, so do the pistons from a Chevy LS1 and a Ford 351 Cleveland V8... but they are not. There are only so many ways to make the basic shape and have it function in a S12. The differences are going to be pretty subtle. Now admittedly the pistons in an internal combustion engine is a different beast, and is capable of deriving more power from enhanced combustion efficiency. These are more akin to a compressor piston. I haven't tested this yet. I did test in a 24 inch cut to 19 inches and it could tough the deficencey there. It is hard to say. I will put it on my list to tes

I got the Advantage Arms Conversion for my Glock 20 and 3 spare mags for Christmas. I just got to shoot it last week. It worked very well only 2 jams (stove pipes) in the first 100 rounds. I chalk this up to break in. But what did concern me was the trigger not re-seating properly when I just let it go slightly back past the reset point. This is a common trick with the .45 ACP and the 10mm, but with the little .22RF it seems problematic. We will see as the kit breaks in, but over all I am happy with it for a training aid!

I am wondering if the Booster model will be capable of overcoming the difference I anticipate if I take my stock barrel back to 18.25 inch, counting the muzzle brake...

Fear of carrying a Glock w/ a round chambered.
Azrial replied to Photoguy's topic in Other Weapons - HANDGUNS
Gaston designed it to be carried loaded with one in the chamber. I doubt that you are more knowledgeable in this area then he. Never yield to any unreasonable fear. -
I am from Charleston, but now live in Atlanta. I go back all the time however.
