High velocity could be useful for penetration and maybe a little extra range. Still not clear to me what the accuracy is with a smooth bore. For me the shotgun is a night weapon for close range about my little estate. Longest shot is 660 ft if I l clear all of the forest away which I will not. Day time I can use the S308 for 2-legged critters. For 4-legged and snakes the shorter range of the shotgun is ok considering that I do have neighbors.

In theory mag production can be licensed by the patent holder, but in the real Saiga world that will be most unlikely to happen. Every mag made under license would likely cut into the sales of drum magazines. There is likely not enough market and profit margin out there. So far american police dept are not big into Saigas, So if I want a mag with a lot of shells it will likely be a drum. I think the new 8 shot steel mag will great as is. My main use of a shotgun is when less range and penetration is needed or for moving game at closer ranges. I still prefer PDWs, carbines, and rifles oth

Magazines, magazines!?! It comes with Is there a source of magazines for it? Will it work with the drum magazines by MD and others?

An AK magazine is substantially different in dimensions from a you don't need to ask him about coming out with one, there is already a .308 stripper clip loading tool and 10 round stripper clips already on the market, made by NcSTAR, patterned after the BETA CO. one. you will need to modify the base of the stripper clip loading tool to go over a AK style mag, I did that modification on a M16 BETA CO. stripper clip loading tool to work on my 5.56 AK mags An AK magazine is substantially different from the dimensions of a Saiga 308 magazine. Unless you happen to drop it in the wonderfully cold weather we are having this winter, and your polymer mag cracks! OK, I will concede to that point. I have nothing to worry about my polymer mag cracking, because ain't no way I'm going to be out in the winter months shooting. when I shoot I like to have nice warm or cool weather. played enough of that shooting in the sub zero for over 20 years when I was in the Army, now I don't have to or want to for that matter. Some of us take our S12's out to play in the cold... LOL! I have had a plastic mag, butler creek,

I did not get any response so I assume that no one here knows. I did find this YOUTUBE video clip: No-Cost Trigger Job for Stock Saiga AK variant Rifles (1080p HD) Which I am studying that does provide a lot of information.

I have what may be considered an unusual 'conversion' question and I did not see it covered here. I have a mostly stock S12 except for a new gas plug and adjustable choke on it. I hate the heavy trigger on it, but I do not want to relocate the trigger forward as the typical conversion does. You see I like the sporting configuration of the buttstock of the gun. Can one simply install a US made new hammer with disconnecter to get a lighter trigger pull of say less than 7 lbs? The current pull is very heavy, feels like at least 10 lbs. When in a couple months I set up a "shop area" in

I will buy a magazine or two from you since there is no other via alternative and a lot of other will buy magzines from you. I will not buy a whole lot of them. Maybe one or two a year until I have say 5 or of them. I still need to buy some more S308 mags from you. It is likely I can set up a guide for using 10 round stripper clips for rapid reload of my S 308 magazines. I have not tried it yet. How about making some stripper clip guides. My go to guns are akm's (AK47's) for which there is no mag issue if you use combloc mags. The S12 is for use on my estate against most destructive a

I did not say it was too much but what they thought the market will bear. Eventually I may buy some after they have been out a while and we all know how well they work. Currently to my knowledge the only reliable 8 rounder out there is the russian factory mag. I have not ck their price or availablity of the russian mags, but suspect they they are not cheaper. It was my understanding that in some cases hand fitting will be necessary for the new steel magazines.

At $63.00 they are certainly charging what they think that the market will bear. The S308 mags are $46.50.

I looked at the website for dinzagarms and I see what is a partial set for $75 including shipping. It counts as two rather three compliance parts. Dinzagarms is really trying to soak everyone at that price for that set. Anyway I do not completely understand how it works yet either. If I wait a few months I am sure that since they are tapco parts that the price will go down when other vendors get them. What I will do is add on what parts I already have on hand. It looks like the disconnector spring on my gun is extremely strong and could be replaced with something else and it would ligh

Hi, I just measured a stock Saiga 12 and I get 7 lbs 4 oz trigger pull. The easiest way to drop the pull down is to get one of the JT Engineering Hammer/Main Springs from Greg at Carolina Shooters Supply and this will drop your trigger pull down to about 4 lbs. He has a video for easy installation. This is a full power spring, not a reduced power main spring. Steve Steve, Thanks a lot. I had just made an order to carolina about hour ago and so I just called them up to add that main spring to the order. I normally dislike fooling around with mainsprings, but in this case it is

I have asked part of this question before, but perhaps there may be some new information since then. What should be the typical trigger pull on a stock Saiga-12. (I prefer the stock S12 configuration, I have a folding stock setup already on a MAK90 for close quarters work and for transport in sneaky bags). My S12 trigger pull is horrendously heavy. Not measured, but it must be 8 plus lbs. Is this typical for the stock Saiga-12? I can do quite well with 5-6 lbs. Last time I asked there were no full replacement trigger part sets for the Stock S12 setup. Has that changed? Also

I own a saiga-12, barrel 19" with only a new gas piston button (piston) added. The stock trigger parts have a horrible trigger pull. I do not want to convert to a pistol grip and I like the stock external configuration as I think it is conducive to rapid instinctive shooting at ranges of 20 to 50 yard under conditions of poor visibility. I have a 30 cal folding stock AK for close up work. I have two objectives. 1- to lighten the horrible factory pull (Well in excess of 8 lbs) 2-to add enough US parts to use Russian 8 round mags. Question: I have on hand a fire control group from
