  1. PICS!! This is now listed on Gunbroker with a starting bid of $625.00 plus actual shipping.
  2. 3 point is what I thought I wanted until I talked with the Special Forces guys down at Fort Campbell, KY. I just shot my first "tactical" 3 gun where weapons had to be slung and this was definitely the way to go. The way this thing works, allowing you to cinch it close to your body, was nice for movement while you still have the ability to pull your weapon up and shoot from the slung position. The straps on a 3 point, as they pointed out, get in the way of manipulating the gun. PM Sinistral Rifleman on this forum. I believe he has shot some matches that used slings. If you are dead set o
  3. Make sale offers or consider possible partial trades on a Mossberg 930 SPX or CZ 75B,85, or SPO1 handguns in 9mm.
  4. VTAC 2 point padded sling..... Only way to go IMHO. Look it up on Youtube.

    Stock Weight?

What are the weights of the Tromix Lage stock and the Ace Skeleton stock in the 7.5" length if you can help? Trying to find out which is lighter? I think the Ace, but want to be sure.
  8. Ok, so you DO switch between shot and slugs in the middle of a run then. What do you do, have a couple mags with slugs and a couple mags with shot and have to swap them out as you go and need them? put 5 slugs in the 5rd OEM mag. When it's time to shoot slugs, slap the mag in, cycle the bolt (Either by hand or by shooting next to the target) there goes the last bird-shot, then blam blam (shoot them slugs) then slap birdshot back in and cycle the bolt (Hand or shoot the slug next to the target at the berm) now you're good to go for the steel again. Now I'm with ya. That sounds like
  9. Not impossible TM. The set ups that work are a Fast Fire or Aimpoint Micro on an Ultimak tube rail. I use the FF because I can't bring myself to fork over $500+ for a red dot. Tasco has an Aimpoint Micro copy coming out!!! Don't know WHERE I saw it, but it is out.
  10. Watch the video. It is NEW!!!! 12 gauge and piston driven not like the Safir 410. I love my Saiga but if this comes out and has 10 round mags then this will dominate Open class shotgun shooting. Flattop for optics, piston driven, pistol gripped, and with a magwell straight from the manufacturer. Hell I might sell a kidney......
  11. Yes it will be this April. There is a 4 page spread on Brian Enos Forum. From what I understand, a company has bought a 1600 acre resort and turned it into a shooting "facility" here in the middle of Kentucky. There is even talk of this range possibly hosting your Pan American Shotgun Championship in 2010. I believe the dates are the 24th thru the 26th with RO's shooting on the 22nd and 23rd. I am working this match as well as shooting it. Would love for some Saiga shooters to show up. I doubt I will be the only one, but there will still be very few. There are still slots available and
  12. Top, look at www.brm3g.com. This is a multigun set up by Andy Horner. Last years stages were VERY shotgun heavy from what I can see. 100 yd long courses and longer, plates at 100 yds with slugs, etc. Also I don't know if you have seen them, but we have a guy in our club that made clay pigeon holders with steel rods, angle iron in a V, and spring loaded holding arms that would allow you to place clay pigeons on your swinging targets as well as drop turners. Very challenging when the drop turner is hidden with a piece of mining belt!!! Also try a Texas Star where you can only shoot the pl

  14. Yankee Hill Machine makes a 45* picatinny adapter for about $15 if I remember correctly. I had two on a flat top AR and mounted a red dot on the side of my gun next to a scope. No reason I know of that you can't mount it on the bottom of a forearm and then mount a regular VFG to it. Just another option.
  15. IMHO the collapsible stock is the way to go. Folders are great for packing on a hike or such, but for competition you will be shooting from the shoulder and a collapsible will allow you to adjust the length based on the stage before you or upon your gear. Folders have 2 lengths---Folded or Fixed. Collapsible stocks allow you to shorten the stock if faced with a house type scenario with halls or extended to your most comfortable length for field courses. I am 5'll" and I use my T6 stock on position three due to my arm length. It is the most comfortable. Fully extended is just too long. T
  16. I went home and put up a large piece of cardboard, pattern tested it at the same distance 13-15 yards POA was perfect, but at Extra-Full it patterned looser then may other shot guns at Imp-Mod I wonder if my Poly-Choke is not working ? Try the Modified setting on the Poly Choke....I use my gun with cylinder bore and use Federal #6 shot and have no problems knocking targets off at that distance. With #6 shot my gun patterns smaller than a Rem 870 with modified choke and #8 shot. The extra full restriction may be messing with your wad and causing the pattern to break up faster. Just
  17. What kind of shells and shot size? and what distance?
  18. Depending on what you plan to hunt then the shorter the barrel you have then you will also lose accuracy to some degree. The shorter the barrel the wider the pattern for shot and therefore a lesser EFFECTIVE range for the gun. For slugs you will lose velocity and accuracy at distances. My 19" gun shoots a head shot at 100yds with the right slug and I shoot #6 shot to keep a tighter pattern with the birdshot with the cylinder bore. Hope this helps.
  19. 614 2431 4473 What are the chances lightning will strike twice?
  20. Too tight? Or too loose? Cylinder bore makes 8 shot barely wobble most heavy plates and with your sight/bore axis at different levels you may not be getting a full hit on the plate. Get several types and sizes of shot and see what you can pattern on cardboard. My gun likes #6 shot Federal the best out of the 19" barrel.
  21. I have just never heard or seen a USPSA competition get called for weather. Big matches get shot in the rain and mud all the time. Local matches do the same so that if you are at a big competition then you've had experience with adverse conditions, but can still place well.
  22. "Rained Out" what the hell does that mean? Rain, sun, snow.....if they set the match up then someone is going to shoot it. I personally make a choice of how cold or wet I want to get, but some guys don't care to get guns worth thousands of dollars wet/dirty. The worst match like this I shot was back during the summer. Our squad was the fastest and as we finished the next to last stage, the heavans let loose, and dumped 3 inches in an hour with 40 mph straight line winds. Our squad being the sensible group we are stayed under the canopy. After about 5-10 minutes of the down pour the other
  23. DITTO above if this is a 3 gun match. If you can see the stages ahead of time and it is just a shotgun side match. Then shoot TAC Optics and then OPEN for the shotgun portion. I have a local club that does a side match alternating between rifle and shotgun each month. Also if you know someone shooting the match then make sure that your 30 round mags are legal. In most pistol matches they limit the length or capacity of your mag. No longer than 140mm or 10 in a mag depending on class. If they say your mags are OPEN class then shoot OPEN and have fun.
  24. USPSA Multi Gun Rules state that you can start with no more than 10 + 1 in your gun. Keyword being START.......you can START with no mag and 1 round in the chamber and after the buzzer then load your drum by racking the bolt and inserting. Needs to be a really high round count for this to be effective though. You just keep yourself from having to reload later in the string. Now if it is some other type of MAJOR match but not USPSA then watch the rules carefully. Some match rules state you capacity can NEVER be over a certain number. This is what happened to Taran Butler at a major match
