Is it possible to leave any of the Saiga rifles (5.45x39 in particular) in the sporter configuration and have the cleaning kit able to be inserted into the buttstock? Also, is it possible to have the cleaning rod under the barrel without going to all new handguards and all that? I can't wait to take mine out shooting!

OK, so my Saiga is in the mail (FINALLY ordered one!) and I have just a few questions. 1) I want to keep this in stock configuration (I live in Kali and I hate bullet buttons, plus I like straight stock rifles) but I want a cool sling to go with it. Is this sort of sling feasible with this rifle? Here are my requests. -5.45x39 to 5.56x45 magazine followers (Come on, 6 bucks from RobinsonArms is a ton to pay BUT if you can make them with a BHO feature, THAT is worth paying 6 bucks a follower) -I am not sure about this, but has anyone made a follower to convert the 7.62x39 mags to use 5.56x45 rounds, or will those mags not even fit in the magwell? It's late, so no flaming! That is all I can think of. If you can make followers that sport the BHO ability for the .223, many, many members would be deeply grateful. -Nathan

One problem... I am in the PRK, so I am screeeewed.

I need some 10rd .223 mags for my rifle that is coming up and I want to know if the SAR-1 (or whatever they are) Romanian 5.45x39 with a different follower will work with some mods in my rifle. Also, where can I find cheaper followers than RobArms? 6 bucks is a hefty price to pay and I am just better off going with stock Saiga mags if I cant find the Sar-1s cheap enough and the followers cost that much...

Awesome, looking forward to seeing it. If it's something I can copy then I might go with this option. Was the front sight a thread-in post or did you replace the whole front sight block? I'd also be interested to know if you've been able to test the accuracy since you installed it. Do you think there might be a front sight replacement for the SAIGA where you can install an AR-15-esque front sight to match up with the rear sight correctly?

Is there a way to fix the brass smashing problem?
