    FBMG Mags

I have been patiently waiting since May or June, but my patience is running thin. FBMG, sh-t or get off the pot.
  2. 1500 plus since upgrading it with new fcg, threaded barrel and muzzle brake. Like a Timex, takes a lick'in and keeps on Tick'in. The only difference between now and when I bought it, South African ammo was $24/battle pk. now its around $60-$90/pk. . Ouch!@

    FBMG Mags

Im still patiently waiting for the order I placed back in June. Any idea when shipping will start? Thanks.
  4. Yes, the S-308 can safely shoot mil. surplus 7.62 x 51mm NATO, or .308 cartridges. However, be cautious with mil surplus. I have never had a problem with South African ammo, but some of the Indian, South American and Paki stuff has problems. I personnally only shoot Wolf, Bear or American ammo now. I use to shoot S.A. when it was cheap, but not anymore.

    FBMG Mag's

I will patiently wait for them to work the bugs out, too. The mags I currently have all work perfectly, and Im looking forward to getting my current order filled. But, if it takes another month or two, thats okay as long as they have it right.

    Price check

    Cabela's has Wolf .308 FMJ at the following prices; 500 rounds - $144.99 1000 rounds - $279.99 Pretty decent prices, especially compared to S.A. bp's at a $100 per 140 rds.
  7. If u are talking about 7.62 x 51mm NATO verse the .308, then I would go with a .308 for these reasons: 1. Mil. surplus ammo cost about the same as off-the-shelf .308 2. Rifles chambered in 7.62 NATO cannot safely shoot .308 rounds due to the fact that .308 rounds produce over 10,000 psi more than 7.62. 3. Wolf and Bear make excellent .308 rounds and u can still get 500 rds for approx. $180.00 4. You can buy a larger and better assortment of ammo chambered in the .308 vs. the 7.62 NATO 5. And, you can always shoot mil surplus in your .308 and do it safely, unlike the opposite That's
  8. I have killed several hogs with my S-308. The last time I posted a picture of a hog kill on another board, I received hate mail and post for several weeks. The pic wasn't pretty, but it was reality. I have lots of pics and movies of hog hunts, but I very hesitant to post pics anymore because people can take such photos the wrong way and can damn sure use them against you.
  9. Why did I convert? Just to see if I could do it and have the satisfaction of said conversion after the fact, and making my friends jealous of having such a weapon. And, its more functional and practical for what I use it for, hog hunting.
  10. Im looking for a weaver type rail attachment for S-308 stock, synthetic fore grip. Does anyone know where I could buy one? Thanks
  11. I installed an FSE fcg, had to do a little dremel work on the hammer due to it hitting the support bar, no other problems. The G-2's will require the same dremel work plus some tig welding on the safety lever inorder for it to work safely. I like the G-2's because of the axis bar that goes through the trigger group, makes for easy install, no hassle with the disconnect spring. Double hook, or single? I would go with the single hook, otherwise you will have to cut another slot in your receiver for a double hook to function. Besides, I do not see any advantage to using a double hook anyway.

    Thanks to Dinzag...

I treated my bud's to my new muzzle brake last night, blew their ear drums out! We were pig hunting, drinking a few beverages while in the back of a truck in the middle of a hay field about 150 yds. from a corn feeder. At approx. 8:40 pm, a black pig came out under the feeder and I got off the first round, rolled the pig, it ran about 25 yds and dropped dead. I looked around and my bud's were cussing me for how loud my S-308 was, I told them that I didn't notice any loud noise, only the pig. I was using Silver Bear 140 gr. sp, hit the pig in the ass, broke its hip bone and blew the guts up

    Thanks to Dinzag...

I'll get some pics posted once I get my camera fixed. Salt water and digital cameras don't mix.
  14. I have never met Tony, or dealt with him. But, based on what I have learn from his website and other sites, I would say that guy and his company is top notch. I recently converted my S-308 thanks to the info on this board and Dinzag. However, knowing what I got in it $$$$ wise, I probable would of been just as well off buying one of Tony's converted weapons. But, I like doing things myself so that I understand how everything works, goes back to the days of building models as a kid, I guess? Anyhow, if you have some minimum mech. skills, and the desire and time you can convert any rifle.
  15. I would like to publically thank Dinzag for delivering what he represented. Thanks to his advice, my FSB(machined) is moved back, barrel threaded and topped off with his machined muzzle brake. The process was fairly simple thanks to his instructions and I would highly recommend his services. Thanks Dinzag!
