  1. I got my Intrafuse handguard in but have not installed it yet. The handguard would have to be cut out to work with the Ultimak. I'm also interested in a side sling but I have a hard time trusting the plastic compared to the metal AK retainer sling mount I have now. The screws holding the rail on are really small, and nothing prevents the side of the handguard from being pulled outward by the sling pressure. I'm considering drilling a hole in the handguard and looping a BlueForce Gear wire loop around the barrel. Heck, maybe I could keep the DinZag retainer inside the Intrafuse and hook on
  2. Saiga 7.62x39 Shortened factory stock Ultimak Aimpoint Micro Bulgy FSB + 74 brake Dinzag handguard retainer K-Var handguard Vickers 2pt sling DinZag bullet guide DinZag FCG US piston Blackjack Buffers safety lever All work done by me in my garage! I have a registered AR-15 "assault weapon" but the Saiga can go with me anywhere, unrestricted. Another option for converted Saigas or regular AKs - a filled-in thumbhole stock. I actually prefer this to the Monsterman.
  3. I bought a smaller buttplate from Brownells (the smallest generic one they had). I cut the stock off to the length I wanted with a chop saw, rough sanded the inside to make it grippier and added epoxy putty to replace the screw holes.Greased the buttplate and screws and installed while the epoxy putty was setting. Once set, remove the buttplate, remove the grease from the screws, and reinstall. Sand buttplate to fit the stock if you want -- it was close enough for me. Works great. This was based off someone else's instructions here on saiga-12. If I can do it you can do it. Took about 1/2
  4. BTT -- I would like to know how this is accomplished. Does the stock have to be folded all the way for the firing to be deactivated, or is it deactivated as soon as the stock is released to fold?
  5. I have a bolt-on coming from DinZag. Should I be at all wary of actually using the slide sling swivel as designed? I can't imagine it is as robust as the press-on.
