2) SOLDBulgarian Flash Hider with 24 x 1.5 thread. This one is special. I had Dinzag enlarge the bore of the hider so that there was no chance of a round hitting the flash hider after leaving the barrel. He did a beautiful job but then I messed up the front a little. I used it to partly install a new FSB by heating the FSB and then tapping on the end of the hider. It needs to be fixed by someone who can mill about 1/8th inch off the end so it looks all right again. You could do it on a grinder. This is a $48 part at K-Var but I will sell it as is for $30 shipped. 3) NEW AR-15/M

How difficult is it to remove enamel paint from phosphate finish?
wlnt replied to wlnt's topic in Tech Section
'Azrial', I have only worked with gun blue ,Duracoat and spray paint. I have no experience with parkerizing. What I have read tells me it is an etched surface. I cannot revert it to bluing or can I ? If I use bluing on a parkerized surface will it work? How difficult would it be? Any and all information is appreciated. louielouie Bluing and parkerizing are two different surface treatments. You can have one or the other. After you get it sandblasted clean, you can blue it or park it - your choice. Nalioth, It is obvious that I don't know about parkeriz -

I am getting a 74 year old mil-surp pistol that has enamel over phosphate for a surface treatment (originally made this way). As you can imagine the paint has chipped and worn making the pistol look much older than it is. Do you know how difficult or who might be able to tell me the difficulty of removing the enamel paint and then just re-phosphating the entire pistol. I would stop at the re-phosphating if it looks good (a dark gray phosphate finnish like many CZ52's I have seen. I need to know is this possible and feasible? Would the overall color match (after rephosphati

FREE-DESSICANT Ask your local pharmacy (where you shop) to save you all of the little plastic dessicant packets and plastic dessicant tubs (.5 in diameter). They throw them away. You will have a never ending, discardable-dessicant program. I put about 10 in each 50 cal. can and replace them about every 3 months. Caution- these are poisonous; so if you have children be careful where you store them. If you are old enough to remember, they used to put these packets in potato chip bags. They still put them in some new shoe boxes. louielouie

When I first started doing conversions, I went down to Wally World and picked up a B/D corded for around $25 and it works well! I would definitely go with a corded one... a WHOLE lot more power and torque and you don't have to worry about running the battery down. I already had a cordless one and that was the problem with trying to use it...battery would get weak and it made using it really rough. Good point. I was thinking of the versatility of no cord. I have a corded model myself. Thanks for info. Louielouie p.s. I checked and Grizzly's has a corded model for $26.95.
