Not putting it protects you from someone who works there copying it down and selling it. I never use my SSN. If that was ever a concern of mine, I would be finding a new FFL.

I have nothing to add, other than to say that the FNX-9 is sexaaaay! I'm a Glock slut. But I would gladly go for an FNX-9 if I wanted a different polymer pistol. The only thing that prevented me from doing it before, was the fact that they don't have a decocker-only model. If they come out with one down the road, I'll be seriously interested.

I used to run NCIC's on people coming into and leaving the jail I worked at. It seemed that unless someone was wanted for a violent crime, then most departments wouldn't extradite outside of a pretty small radius. Some departments/counties actually put the radius right on the hit confirmation, so if we weren't within that radius, we wouldn't even bother sending a message. Basically, you could travel the country and stack up small time warrants, and as long as you never go back to those counties and encounter law enforcement........you'd never spend a day in jail or court. Nice! I used to live about an hour from Charleston (in Myrtle Beach). Any idea on rates for the range? I literally lived about 2 minutes away from one of the indoor ranges in MB and still only went once, just because they charged so much. So we would instead drive an hour to Francis Marion National forest to shoot for the day.

I will say though, that my first smoke after that 12 hour absence (which is literally unheard of for me), was weird. I got all lightheaded, hahahaha. Newport 100's ain't no joke! Thanks, fellas. I forgot to mention in the OP, that yeah, I will be doing this cold-turkey. No patches, pills, etc. It's 10:30 right now. Been up since about 7. My morning routine is to wake up, take a leak, and then go outside for a smoke. EVERY morning, no matter what, for years. So it feels weird not having had my morning smoke. I feel a little irritable already. So far so good. There's literally 2 packs of smokes sitting within reach right now (my brother-in-laws). They're some weird shitty brand, but they do look really good right now, lol.

I'm done. I just smoked my last cigarette. I hate to say it, but I'm not doing it for health & wellness reasons. I'm doing it because it's too damned expensive. Whether they want just the slide, or the entire gun, as Kenny said, you won't need an FFL. That being said..........usually in these cases, they want the entire thing back, even if it's only the slide. Let us know what they say.

For some reason, my mind automatically went to direct-rail-mount lights, and I forgot about Surefire's handhelds. They have the G2X Pro and G2X Tactical lights, which are around $70 and 200 lumens. The Pro has a 15 lumen mode as well.

I wouldn't deal with an FFL who I'm not comfortable with, or where the above situation would even cross my mind. For anyone who is interested, check out GunBroker's FFL list. Back in SC, once I got my CWP, I no longer had to go through the background check. It was nice, but I never had any problems getting approved before that, anyway. My name is not very common and I always put my SSN down. I would be fucking FUMING if that ever happened to me. Not that I ever really had any other problems with my other FFL's (aside from being lazy about calling me to let me know that my gun had arrived)..........but I got spoiled with my FFL down in SC. Super nice guy, cheap transfers, honest, great communication, etc, etc.

The cheapest I would go is a Streamlight TLR-1. They can be had for just under $100. They also have the TLR-3, which is even cheaper ($65-$70?), but constructed with polymer. But it's designed for use on guns. I just don't have experience with that specific model.

Something along the lines of "heavy package, hurts when dropped on foot". You should have left a note that said "Don't drop heavy shit on your foot".
