  1. Thanks and sorry for the slow reply! I will post a picture next week sometime or something, but yes I believe I need to file it down. To aim I line up the grooved metal bar that the bead sits on, and get it perfectly straight. Then I basically put the brass bead right over what I want to hit. -Tom
  2. I cannot figure out how to adjust the sights and don't wanna mangle anything with pliers without knowing what i'm doing. The manual doesn't mention anything. This is from 2003. It just has a little brass bead for the front sight, and the way I am it is always low. Sorry if this has been asked a lot I can't seem to find it with a search. Thanks.
  3. Hey all that looks really cool. I need help I made a new post in the other weapons system board, non ak based. Im just looking for any help on how to do this, and materials needed etc. I can use a lathe or a drill press or a few other machines. Do I need high pressure steam pipe or what about aluminum or steel of some type? any info would be great, either post here or in my new thread or even pm me or whatever. For me it will just be for fun as well, unless I do a godo job then maybe ill try to make a really good one or something. thx all. Tom
  4. Hey all. I am going to build an AR-15 rifle fairly soon. Also, I have access to a machine shop and am wondering about practicality and legality of building your own flash hider or muzzle break. Keep in mind I sort of want to do it for fun. As far as I know it is legal. What do you think, and do you have any tips? What size are the threads for ar-15 rifles, and what material should I use? Thanks for ANY and all info. Tom
  5. Ok... please help me understand. Can I simply replace the stock after the 13th with a pistol gripped stock? Please help. Thanks, Tom
  6. I see there are a few posts on this topic, but I am extremely new to scopes and scope mounts. I am only familiar with using iron sights. What is the best scope mount for this gun? Do russian side rail scope mounts attach right to the side of the rifle and do I need any extra hardware to mount them? Or are they already set up to go straight on. Also, do I want a reaver style rail if I get a side rail scope mount? If I get a weaver style rail, when I buy a scope and it comes with rings for a weaver style rail that is all I need right? Or are there extra pieces I need? Once ag
  7. Hey I got the saiga 12 and I love it. I am really interested now in building a saiga 308 and buying an aftermarket stock set, and putting a scope and scope mount on it. Where can I get one for cheap? I would really prefer the 22 inch barrel. I've looked around and I've seen them from like 350 all the way up to 650 dollars..... common I know they are not that expensive. Any help is awesome. Thanks, Tom
  8. thanks bvamp that seems like a really good price to me. Im going to use the gun today for the first time, I will let everyone know how it works!
  9. I wasn't trying to make fun of your idea (I guess you were talking to the other guy?) because I have no clue about they Steyr AUG and convesion info but I do know that the guy who said 2 round burst is legal is either 1. lying or 2. un-knowledgeable or 3. insane. For all we know whoever told you that could be trying to get people to do illegal things to get them in trouble with the ATF (sounds ridiculous yes but the ATF has done it before). good luck.
  10. So it looks like the Saiga won this? It seemed like it had less recoil?
  11. That guy is honestly either full of it or misheard the explanation. Any gun that can fire two shots with one activation of the trigger is a machine gun and is illegal, unless you buy it legally, register it with ATF, etc.... Don't let the guy pull your chain if you want more info check out the many fine websites ou there about legal machine gun ownership.

NRAJOE I think what I am going to do with mine is to send it to www.colonialarms.com and have them chop the barrel and thread it. You can then order what ever type chokes you want from them and they will work on your saiga so you can fire slugs, tight shot patterns, or loose. you can even get a rifled choke for sabots. Check it out, there is a guy on this board who did it already, he is the one who told me about it.
  13. A good post but remember, the best argument to make is that we have a right to. There are many reasons, not just one that the 2nd Amendment was put in the bill of rights.... It is absolutely crucial that we keep it and do let it be weakened ever again. We need to go back and get rid of some of these (all of these) crap laws.
