  1. Hi Mike,Finding this thread has saved me from selling my s12 to help fund a vepr(http://www.guncity.co.nz/12ga-russian-ak47-style-shotgun-new-xidp163288.html) so thank you for saveing me two weeks pay!!!! Do you know if your magwell will work with the vepr mags?
  2. They do make both-not a typo but I wish it was. After finding this great site while working out what to do with my s12 I got hooked and went and bought a 7.62x39 and found out the hard way that it had a plain bore, went back to the shop a bought another with chrome-it cost almost twice a much but worth it to get what I wanted. We can buy so many diferent spec versons down under that it makes your head spin-with and withour dimpils, plain forend or milspec, hunting stock or thumbhole. The ruskis will make them to any price point you want I supose
  3. They make them both with and without chromed bores-It is worth the extra to get the chromed vershon

    What Shop?

Hi, my boss is heading over to your fine country for a trade show in Las Vegas so as he is gun freindly I was hoping to get him to pick up some goodys for me. I am mainly looking for a few fcg's and some of those rails that mount on the gas tube. Any help in finding info on what could cause problems with exporting parts would be good to!!! Thanks in advance edit-my spelling sux,not sure how to change the post name tho
  6. Thanks Pointer,That is what I was looking for. The funny thing is that I looked at that thread when it first started but did not think of it whenI was searching-I must be a mong
  7. HI Im not in the US, Im in NZ so I dont have to worry about barrel length only overall length. I have tryed searching and it looks like I will have to open up the ports but could not find any info on how to do this. I could just rip it apart and try to work it out but is an expensive gunhttp://forum.saiga-12.com/style_emoticons/default/012.gif http://forum.saiga-12.com/style_emoticons/default/012.gif down under and Id feel a lot more better about doing it with as much info as pos befor I start. Anybody else?
  8. Iv got so hooked on these $%#@ Saiga 12's that I have to start another one. I allready have one all set up for hunting so now it must be time for a shits and giggles gun. I was thinking that a nice short gun would be lots of fun, unfortunitly local law says that the gun has to be at least 762mm long and that as its a semi that it has to have a fixed butstock(may have to turn one into a pump to get round this one day) so how short can I cut the barrel down and still have a gun that works relyably with 2 3/4 bird shot? If I have to open up gas ports all good but how do I do this? All ideas an
  9. Get one-awsome sight! Have had one on a 7.62x39 for 1400 rds and another on a 12g over 4000 rds. Have not had any problems at all.
  10. a guy on arf.com did it and posted pics in the ak forum. http://ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=64&t=96741 pat Thanks for that! That is what I was thinking of doing(-the nice touch with the gas piston) before Brg3 got me thinking. By the way this is an awsome forum iv lernt so much in the last year from you all.
  11. Thanks for the imput guys. To clear up one thing im a right handed shooter 90% of the time. I love the idea of a non-reciprocating lever, The ar-10 guy has had one come off on him. It is a pity about losing the sight rail but I was thinking of mounting my holo sight on the barrel anyway. Any Ideas on how I could make it?
  12. Hi,I had a play today with a old ar-10 to day that the owner had made a new uper for and it had a left hand cocking leaver, was very impresed and thought that it was what I would like to do with one of my Saigas to speed up mag changes. So can I do this? I was thinking that maybe I could drill and tap a Hole in the same block of metal the factory cocking leaver is on and just cut a slot in the dust cover.
  13. We have the same problem in the UK (in fact I think the problem is everywhere except the US as they won't export anything now!) However, there are ways around the problem. My gunsmith said he had fitted a standard AK trigger group and that worked just fine. There must be people in NZ with AK's? The other option would be to ask a friend in the US to post one to you or if someone from NZ is there on holiday/business to bring things back. I don't know about NZ laws but it is totally legal to buy them in the UK without restriction. Might also be worthwhile trying Rusmilitary in the UK plus t
  14. Hi ,first post after looking for about a year. Im from New Zealand so please bear in mind that our laws are not the same as the states so I do not have to comply with parts counts I have a s12 with the sporter stock and screw on chokes and I would like to convert it to a suported pg(have to suport by law) with a poly choke. *Do I have to get a new fg or can I just shift the one It came with? *Will a brake help? or is it just a look thing on a 12g *If a brake helps can one be used with a poly choke? Thanks
