  1. Okay, whoa. Wait. What? What is an RRA 15? There is no such thing on RRA's web site.
  2. I second the idea of a mass cleaning! http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h110-1022 Notice in the text: Keep in mind that sometimes the text of one bill is incorporated into another bill, and in those cases the original bill, as it would appear here, would seem to be abandoned.
  3. My friend from work, who is knowledgeable in firearms, has said that activity has started up again on HB 1022. Can anyone confirm anything? I'm going to contact NRA about this on Monday.
  4. It is my understanding that the parts count rule applies if you are using the high-capacity magazines. If you put your foreign-made 10-rounder back in, you would not be in violation of the parts count rule - remember, the rifle is in a sporting configuration and is legal, otherwise it would not be sold here.
  5. I just want to put out there that I have a set of these Promag mags in clear that I got from Centerfire Systems in May, 5 months ago. Upon showing a friend my AK and how it works, I found that one magazine has a crack on the left side at the rear of the left case lip at the very top of the body. Has anyone experienced problems with the plastic on these mags? I'm sending this back in two days and then they'll send me a replacement. I'm thinking of trying the MM magazines to see how they work.
  6. Ah, ah! No! It is not time to start selling any time soon! You wait until the right time, you'll be able to buy ANYTHING you want. PM me to find out why! No, I'm not going to sell you anything, just to clarify something.
  7. An investment? Hmmm, in saving your life when SHTF, yes! It's not going to matter which way you go, except when you have a lot of people after you and you can run those hi-cap magazines and keep it cool with a vented handguard. Get lots of ammo. Remember, people!!! the Feds just cut the Fed Funds Rate AND the Discount Rate by half a point each today! This means inflation. Get out of the dollar! Put your dollars into supplies, ammo, more guns, especially silver/gold! By the time SHTF, America might have fallen and the US Dollar just a piece of paper no one will take!
  8. You're not gonna believe this... I had to post this message to keep it from going to hell. There were exactly 666 views on this topic when I scrolled through this list. I had to make it 667 to make sure it didn't go to hell...
  9. In that case, I'm damned, because I have my receipts, copies of my Internet relay calls for the deaf transcripts that shows the phone number, asking if it was so-and-so company, and referencing the part number on the receipt, and asking them if the product or part is US-made, and their response. I also have a signed letter stating that a part that was replaced in my gun with a US-made part, and I also have copies of the federal legislation regarding the parts count and state laws regarding firearms confiscation, the castle doctrine, and I keep copies at home and one full set in my gun case.
  10. Oh, D'oh! I didn't read it carefully. You're right! You meant tube, not piston! Yeah, definitely not listed on there. I wonder why, though... (tip-toes away, quietly...)
  11. Nope, not on the countable parts list. If you have a gas tube from any country and cover it with US-made furniture including having the lower handguard, then you have one US-made part for 922r compliance. And, welcome to the forum! What?! That is not correct. Look here for the list of parts that can be swapped out for compliance. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=16010
  12. Hey umm, you know they're just rifles. They're not alive, right? Okay, just checking to see if we need to up your meds.
  13. Yes, I'm in Houston, but I live south of the I-10 line. I consider that WAY out there. I went back to the American Shooting Center range last month, and they got the spotting scopes back on! Thanks!
  14. Actually, a correction. At REI, we educate and outfit for a lifetime of outdoor adventures (could be substituted for survival). The clothing and equipment we have could be used for survival. Oh, one more correction. I don't love guns. I wish we didn't have to use them, but because of the nature of humans, we must be ever vigilant of our rights. They're a tool. Sure, some look nicer than others, but that's about it. Also, I want to add that I've got several pair of boots, shirts, and need to get everything else. Where is "here?"
  15. While its fun (and important) to stock up on guns and ammo, dont overlook some of the more mundane stuff like food, water, a water purification kit, and a reserve supply of fuel for your vehicle. Also, dont overlook or underestimate the lowly .22LR....a Ruger 10/22 with a couple of hi-cap mags, a cheap scope and 1000 rounds of ammo can be had for well under $300 and can do almost anything a bigger gun can do except hunt really large game or penetrate armor. Guns and ammo are great to have in an emergency but you cant eat them drink them or use them for fuel in your car. Perhaps, I ha
