  1. You solve all your problems by running away? Worst advice I've ever heard. There are a lot of people fighting hard for "Change" in Ca.
  2. I'm glad i'm able to help out. I've only shot at 2 public ranges in the Sac area, but they were both oll/"evil black rifle" friendly Sac Valley Shooting Center in Sloughhouse. Bit of a drive but great range. Cordova Shooting Center in Rancho Cordova. A lot closer, but a bit dated.
  3. Actually, I have an OLL (SIG556), and it's not a "game" or just a technicality, it's the letter of the LAW, so I fear no LEO on the matter.
  4. +1 on Saiga's being perfectly legal in Cali. Neox, I live in Sacramento as well. I work closely with DOC, CHP, and Sac Sheriffs. I've taken my modified Saiga with 30,40 round mags and shot at many dept ranges in and around Sac and West Sac. Not only did i not have any problems, I got at least 2 leo to buy one. When you are able to find a dealer, check out FFL Bob Snellings to do the transfer. Cheapest prices around ($50 total: 25 transfer, 25 dros) -Dusty
  5. Not legal. The rifle must be dros'd (direct record of sale) with a california ffl. Crunchy, good luck to you, and shop around a little more to find a cheaper dealer. I wish i could help you out but i'm up north and do not have a lot of knowledge of "cheap" ffl's in your area. Snoop around CalGuns.net. They have a list of dealers and their pricing. Also, don't for for the FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) from scared businesses. I shoot side by side with correctional officers, chp, sac pd, sac sherriffs, and not only do they not arrest me.. they love shooting it, and at least 2 of the
  6. Hello broadkil, A couple of places i know of that have the 20" saiga in stock: Gilberts Guns: $299.95 DDs Ranch: $319.99 Hope this helps. -Dusty
  7. per SB23 (Californias AW Ban) A firearm with a fixed mag of more than 10 rounds is considered an assault weapon. What you are looking at is a 30rnd mag converted to a 10rnd capacity. The dealers that tell you that RAA/EAA Saiga rifles are illegal are either lazy and aren't up to snuff on Ca Law. Or have fallen victim to FUD (fear, uncertaintly and doubt) from CaDOJ bullying. I regularly shoot along side many leo (Correctional Officers, Sac Sheriffs, CHP academy in West Sac.) and havent had any problems with my Saiga. They all know it's not a reg. AW and i've actually talked a few into
  8. For edster and Norcalejm FFL: Bob Snellings (916) 833-9771 bobsnellings@sbcglobal.net charges $50 total (25 dros, 25 transfer fee) the cheapest I've seen in our area.
  9. A lot of mis-information. SKS's are legal and do not have to be registered (which is a moot point because the op already stated he had one). I have both a Saiga and an SKS. Do you need both? No, but they are both equally enjoyable. Right now i would give the edge to my Saiga just because a) it's new and detachable mags. Hi capacity mags are perfectly legal as long as you've owned them before jan. 2000. Norcal, you do not have to go the route of a "monster man grip" with the saiga as it's already Cali compliant as is. In fact many residents in California buy up Saiga standa
  10. But plenty of owners have had their guns seized unjustifiably. It may not be an illegal firearm, but that won't stop an overzealous DoJ or LEO from confiscating your gun until he "clears it up". Part of the fun of CA's AWB is how the DoJ contradicts itself all the time. IIRC, RAA Saigas have been declared both legal and illegal on separate occasions. Turbo, you're right. There is a possibility you might get hassled. But the same thing can happen (and did to me) with a totally legal sks. It can even happen with an M1 Carbine that you can purchase at Big 5. But if you have the abi
  11. SB23 is not "slated to expire next year". There is NO sunset. The only way for SB23 to go away is if it were overturned in court. Just4fun, RAA Saigas are perfectly legal. There are many gunshops here in Ca. that are selling them over the counter. None of them are shut down. Also, there is no ban on bayonet lugs in SB23. That was part of the Fed. Ban (threaded barrels on rifles are ok as well).
  12. I have to say it again. Dinzag is the embodiment of top-notch customer service. Thanks again Dinzag, and to all others who gave advice. Have a happy New Year -Dusty
  13. Yeah, I just got my e-mail from him too. Thats good news for you, and says a lot about the customer service of Dinzag. He has been helping me along the whole time i noticed the problem and is willing to make it right. With a little help from him i was able to make it work. I know i will definitaly be dealing with him again on any more part I'm going to order. Take care and Merry Christmas Dusty
