  1. I read somewhere that the gas block is not completely seal. I have 4 SKS, Yugo AK and these are pretty old rifles and they all have very tiny spot build up of gas near the gas block. But they function fine. I just clean them with brush.
  2. I agreed. People guns and they do whatever they like, but unless they actually shoot a converted Saiga/AK, then they don't know the ergonomic of the converted ones. I converted my Saigas purely on ergonomic and compact and a tiny little of looks . I converted my Saigas with hand drill, center punch, hammer, hacksaw and a metal file. These are basic tools that every man should have around the house. If you like to shoots, might as well learn how to fix things yourself and reloading.
  3. Here is the video link a guy installing the newest Saiga quad rails on his stock Saiga. http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=saig...mb=0&st=day
  4. Your rifle fallen over probably not going to bend the barrel or the front sight. AK front sight might seem canted, but you have to shoot it to see if the front sight is really canted or not. Both of my Saigas 7.62 and .223 front sight seem canted, but it shoots straight. If you have to adjust the front sight either all the way to the left or right and the point of impact still not center, you have a canted front sight.
  5. i don't think i can stress it engouh... made in twain does not count as a us made part Even if people use this quad rail in their original configuration Saiga, what's the difference between Russian and as you said "Twain" part? They are both foreign. I can see if this is use in converted Saiga and you trying to use this as US made part.
  6. i don't think i can stress it engouh... made in twain does not count as a us made part I understand what you are saying. My Saiga is fully converted with enough US parts that I don't have to worry about this quad rail. I have US made trigger group (3), magazine (3) , buttstock (1) , pistol grip (1). 15-8=7
  7. I love it so much, I order another one for $69.95 for my 223.
  8. Got mine today around 1 PM EST and install it in 2 minutes. The quad rail is perfectly and secure. The lower front of the rail sits right behind the gas block that has a little groove slightly bigger than the barrel diameter, this prevent the rail moving back an forth. The top rail lock together with the lower rail nice and tight and additional four lock screws to keep nice and tight. I would recommend this product to anyone who is interested. I will post some pics later when I have some time.
  9. Mine should come later today. Just like anything else, depends what you plan to do with it. I just want to be able to mount different accessories on the quad rail, including vertical grip, red dot...ect. I really don't care about co-witness because I use mostly for recreational shooting and it looks good. If people have money and have to have co-witness, then get the Ultimak. A gas tube with rail on it for $90, a little too much. Just my opinion.
  10. Congratulations! I had my x39 converted for about 3 years now but was using proprietary mags. I ordered the bullet guide kit from dinzag but is not here yet. I dremel the mag catch down yesterday and tested variety of AK mags and they fit perfectly. When I get the bullet guide kit form dinzag I will install it. I just got tired of having a russian AK that don't accept AK mags.
  11. I have read reviews on similar quad rail on other AKs and they said is not even warm. This newest Saiga 762 quad rails will come with rubber rail gaurds. If you want to see a demonstration go here http://leapers.com/pages/mounting_systems/tri-rail_mount.htm Choose AK link on the left hand side and click on SAIGA 7.62X39 Tactical Quad Rails MNT-HGSG39
  12. Im telling you if you want to go quad rail you should go ultimak, the utg does not allow co-witness as its a tad to high. I bought the factory saiga for only $250 awhile back and spent $110 on conversion parts. I can't justify spending $300 on th ultimak quad rail.
  13. I like this quad rail because I can mount a red dot and still can use iron sight for backup. This is the one I was referring to http://tickbitesupply.com/ak.html Fits Saiga 7.62X39MM and Compatible Variants Solid Aircraft Aluminum Alloy Construction with Precise CNC Machining Top/Bottom 2-piece Innovative Design with Lower/Upper Pieces Mating/Locking Feature Includes 16 Top Slots, 22 Left/Right Slots and 21 Bottom Slots Top Rail with V-cut Allowing Use of Iron Sights Great Zero Retention Capability for All Accessories Installe
