  1. I've been using the foaming bore cleaners lately. Seems like they do a quicker job. You may want to give them a try.
  2. In the 80's, Winchester introduced the .307 and .356. These rounds correlate to .308 and .358 with an added cartridge rim. Blunt nosed bullets only for use in tube magazines. The rifles (Winchester and Marlin) come up for sale fairly regularly on the auction boards. Ammo supply and variety is limited, so you may want to look at reloading. Anyone I've ever talked to that had one, liked them.
  3. All of the energy will not be directed in one direction. It will be dissipated in almost all directions and acting on the mass of the water volume as a whole. Also bear in mind that rifle/pistol bullets do not explode as do depth charges.
  4. Griz- Save your naughty bits!!! You never know when..... Anyway, about your question. Where are you carrying your weight? Upper body? Around the waist? What about the reach of your arm/hand? Dress code at work? At social events? All these play a role. How about getting in touch with your state's concealed carry rights organization and ask for advice. The other avenue I would think of would be local police or sheriff's office and ask if they have any large size detectives. If there isn't an exact body type match, they may know someone in a neighboring town or county tha
  5. .41 Rem Mag. In a bullpup configuration. With a red dot. And co-witness night vision....
  6. Keep the 590 and just buy the hunting shotgun you need. They're cheap and readily available.
  7. The fired shell ejects okay? The bolt/carrier is all the way to the rear and hasn't started to travel forward to pick up a new cartridge?
  8. Try to shoot in the morning. Less mirage. Some side focus models can be sensitive about forward scope ring tightness. Might try loosening the screws a bit. I'd probably stick to 10x-12x for a bit while you're working out the range and load.
  9. On the knurled nut- with a thin bladed screwdriver, depress the center spring-loaded tab. Loosen the nut. Take off cover. Thoroughly clean and degrease inner workings. Follow above advice.

Nah- You just need to get a job so you can get some rest.
  11. The last Mini I had was a 179 or 180 series about 20 years ago. I could only ever get it to feed well with Ruger mags.

Try indirect heat. Example- Heat steel punch or rod red hot and then touch to post. Less finish damage than putting torch direct to sight.
  13. If you are using actual Ruger mags it might be worth it. The aftermarket Mini-14 mags have proven themselves untrustworthy.
  14. Go to AR15.com's AK forum and check the Russian page. There is a sticky at the top that covers Saigas and hi-cap mags.
