  1. I do not know about the correctness of the term 'neck', but the technical term for the 'long neck' and 'short neck' shells are 'high brass' and 'low brass'. Compare Remington express long range (high brass) with Remington heavy dove (low brass). I shoot remington heavy dove for birdshot.... no cycling issues.
  2. You will probably only have to cut a pistol grip nut hole, the trigger holes are already there.
  3. ok... now that thats all finished, any word on the receiver blocks? sorry to nag, fob
  4. It screws onto the factory threads (assuming you have a newish s-20, imported '04 or later I believe). If you have an older S-20 you would have to thread your barrel or have it welded on. I'll post pics asap...
  5. I have the CAI yugo underfolder also, best built AK I have ever held. A friend of mine told me the reason CAI's have such a bad rep is that some of their early guns didn't have fully tempered receivers so they got beat up inside and stopped working, but this is no longer the case.

    S20 mags

there aren't any right now. there is a waiting list for some US made ones that might be out in august, its a few threads down.
  8. get the stand alone front sight from this website and a brake from dinzagarms or a polychoke. I wouldn't saw off the barrel... If it will fit on an unthreaded barrel it will fit on external threaded barrel (they have the same OD), you just run the risk of fucking up the threads. if you do decide to saw off the barrel make sure its not a 19" model, you dont want any jail time for a brake.
  9. I second that, they tend to work out their problems with $100 in cheap ammo. prices are about right too...
  10. e-mailed polychoke and they sent me the correct wrench. Yes it counts as a muzzle attachment and yes it is US made but I'm not sure if its stamped US made, I'll check when I get home.
  11. 1 kit please. E-mail sent. Thanks again. I'm glad to see you decided to do one more.
  12. the cleaning rod method is correct, but I'd still leave yourself at least 1/4" margin of error... if it was my gun, I'd make a spacer.
  13. I ordered mine straight from poly-choke, they don't have it on their website yet, but if you call them they will sell you one. $109.00 shipped.
  14. I have been told (by a local atf agent) they have a 16" / 18" precut steel rod to measure barrels. They slide the rod down the barrel and rest the bottom end against the bolt face. This is the standard barrel length measuring technique. As for leaving an extra 1/4"-1/2", is a 1/2" of barrel seriously worth your anal virginity? What if the bolt is slightly hung and wont push all the way closed? I know my saiga does if I let it gently close. Sure, it cant fire in that configuration but since when has batfe let common sense enter into the situation?
  15. received my poly choke today. looks nice, installed easily (although I think they sent me the wrong wrench) but it does add 2" to the barrel (with vented sleeve). Hopefully I'll get a chance to pattern it next week, and I'll try and take a picture.
  16. I've ran 250 rounds in one sitting and probably 500 rounds w/o cleaning the gas tube.... I also shoot Remington heavy dove. I've never had a problem. Bigger/more gas ports would just result in more crap in your gas system. reasons for more crap: 1. more crap in a shotgun shell than a rifle round(powder, wadding) 2. Different powder burns differently... flake vs extruded... in my experience flake leaves more crap behind in general 3. Longer barrels and lower muzzle velocity = more time under pressure, more time for shit to wander into gas tube About the only serious change from
  17. remington UMC in the 250 rd yellow box is like $80 at academy. a tad more expensive than the wolf, but its a brass case and they fire reliably and accurately.
  18. nice where did you get the can? dummy or u got a class 3? thats a hell of an accessory collection you have, I'm jealous. I have a CAI m70, but with a poly forearm... for all the bad reviews Century gets these are very well made guns, most solid AK I have ever held.
  19. I have a yugo m70 underfolder that I just love, but when shooting it prone or sitting I tend to let it wander over my collar bone and that sheet metal stock is supremely punishing against bones. Does anybody know of any recoil pads for this type of stock? I don't need much, just 1/8" or 1/4" of soft rubber to take a little out of it. I have thought of using some medical tubing, but I'd prefer something that doesn't look like ass....
  20. buy it from this very site. http://www.saiga12.com/proddetail.asp?prod=EFSK%2DS20
  21. lots of steady vertical pressure. I used a drill press (with titanium nitride bits) and had to really lean into it. Started at 1/8" and went up by 1/16ths till it came off.
  22. I've had a P-01 for about a year now. I love it. You will not regret your purchase, even some of my friends who are .45 lovers cant deny its a wonderful gun. I've put probably 2k rounds through it and have had 2 FTE's that may have been limp wrists. I like to feed mine Remington 115gr UMC (250 ct yellow box) at the range and speer gold dot +P+ 124gr at home. why does your gun not have the NSN in the first pictures? which picture is your gun the first set or this last set?
  23. msg me if you have them.
  24. I love my S-20, its compact, controllable and some serious firepower. However the lack of high cap magazines infuriates me (and the thought of gambling $100 worth of factory mags to get 1 9rd mag makes me sick). I would get a 12ga if I had to do it again. However if the s20 10rd and 20rd mags make it out this fall... then I will be very happy with my purchase.
