  1. Does an Arsenal AK74 LHG fit the SAIGA 7.62x39? I have a bolt-on retaining plate. Thanks for your help.
  2. Could someone post some pictures of both and explain the mods required to be performed on the gun. Thanks.
  3. Anyone knows who sells them? Thanks.
  4. I think they might be referring to the small pack of red polishing compound that comes with most Dremel kits. My local Home Depot sells it stand-alone on the end cap with all the other Dremel accesories. I used it on mine and the results were very good. Not the caliber of Paul or Cobra's work, but pretty darned smooth and it cycles everything I've tried so far, including Wally World bulk. It's jewelers polishing compound. Red rouge. Get it at a hobby store, or order it from a jewelers supply (for a fraction of the cost), but the OP is correct, it will work as long as you have taken the

  6. Guys, What is this "Red Compound"? I was just at Walmart and then went to a automotive store, but couldn't find anything except the Mcguire stuff made for removing scratch and polishing rims.
  7. Guys thanks for your feedback. Since I converted my SAIGA's, about 18 months ago, I have only put about 20-30 rounds (mostly buckshot) thru each gun. Before taking it to the range, I checked the gas port, and all three have 4 holes (I think). Also, polished the bolt, etc for the best reliability and smoothness. But that's about all the testing I have done per gun (20-30 rounds each). Now, to evaluate reliability (Formally) we need to compute the mean-time-between-failure (MTBF), which is the avg number of shots after which the gun fails. e.g. after about 100 rounds gun FTE. But to co

  9. Hi guys, Do you think the SAIGA (Converted or Unconverted) is reliable enough to be used for Home Defense? Edited: FYI: I have 3 that I have converted! Yes three and I love all three of them. But I am just wondering, as that's the gun I leave accessible for my wife when I go out of town on buz.
  10. in stock? I have been in the middle of two conversions for over two months. The conversions are completed and for the moments, one has the TAPCO AK stock and the other the original Saiga. I have been on ACE's waiting list for the parts since Nov. and I am getting really tired of this. Any help is really appreciated.

IM sent for the Polychoke if selling.
  12. Thanks Dragon, good Info. The 7.62x39 conversion seems pretty easy. How is the S12 conversion different from the 7.62?
  13. Hi all, I am new to this forum and having a hell of a time finding the conversion instruction for an S12. Can someone point me out in the right direction. Thanks

Brand spanking new real EOTech - by the way I didn't know anyone made EOTech copies - but I divest . Also, sighted the gun with EOTech at 25yds - as much as you can with 5-6"grouping. So sounds like the good news is that SAIGAs are suppose to be much more accurate, based on your first hand experience!

Good question guys. I should clear a few things: I have been shooting for 30yrs+, and in my early days use to compete formally. I was shooting with the stock extended over shooting rest. I don't think it is my technique or the Wolf ammo, although I am sure I can do better with quality ammo. I was getting 2-3" grouping with my Arsenal using Wolf ammo on the same trip. I had heard that Saiga's are very accurate and compete with Arsenals. I use Ultimak on both my Saiga and Arsenal. I just checked the Ultimak and it seems to be solid. On the next trip on the range I will try it with ir

  17. Thanks all for your feedback. I also spoke to Tony and the specs seems to be the same as ACE, so looks like the quality is not an issue and it is only a matter of the looks. I have an ACE stock on my AR SBR that I like. It is very sturdy and I like the rounded tube design. I will probably go with the ace primarily due to the familiarity but will sleep on it before I order tomorrow.
  18. What is it made out of that is steel reinforced?
  19. Gents, I have a SAIGA converted AK that I Duracoated and I like the gun very well. i am thinking about adding a folding stock and was debating between the Tromix vs. ACE. Tromix looks cool but I hear it may be flimsy. Anyone knows what is it made out of and how is the quality? How it looks now:
  20. the folding mechanism and the internal receiver block for a Saiga. I will consider the parts separately as well. Email or Im me.
