  1. my thoughts exactly, to each his own. one thing to remember is that the anti's never try to go against ALL weapons....they go and make "sensible" laws...i've owned three saigas and and three ex-military ak's and at least ten other rifles....some PG some sporter, personaly...i give a thumbs up to the genius who said.... "hey, these guys want a russian ak, right? well shit, what do we need to change to legaly sell them that?"...... and since then we've had the saiga.....I LOVE IT, and I'm not even gonna tell you my preference....yeah right, it's actually 1-PG with folder for truck gun. 2-
  2. oh....thanks. make a lot more sense now. becuase i had always thought that krinks weren't around till the afgan war. but then there's all this here say....now it makes plenty more sense.
  3. about the same really. using good ammo, i'd say 4-8" shot groups at 100 yards. thats with no human error.
  4. thanks man, real helpful.....i wonder what the diff is between the yugo front end and a bulgy one....as in, milling a virgin yugo krink barrel to to bulgy specs. i'm almost positive that there was a russian one though, but this whole entire gun seems extremely elusive as a whole, so yah never know.
  5. any-body out there seen an AKMSU? no, not the aks-74u, i have one of those. i'm talking about the akm-su in 7.62 with those thumbhole front stock. fixing on building me a clone, should be fun, not cheap, i'm guessing....anyways, here's a pic.
  6. yeah, sorry guys, i was just getting the wrong impression and now i get the drift. 14....hmmm hey, did u guys ever find out if ace still sell reciever blocks? well, sear and hammer, is easy, then your down to 12, and then the buttstock idea of yours, now you're at 11 and then maybe the gas piston, brings 10....ooooh, the magic number. then u still have a handgaurd u can easily swap. now you're at 9 imported parts....but without the sear and hammer (more or less a conversion in itself) u are stuck at 11 parts and i'm stumped as to what else you can swap. again i apologize guys, thanks f
  7. again, it's about what the total imported parts inthe rifle. he's only removing the buttstock. and unless he talks to BRG3 he's kinda stuck with the sear and hammer as so out of the fiveparts he would be removing in the case of a regular conversion, he'd be stuck withthree again, it's about bringing the imported parts count down, not the U.S. parts count UP. still not simple enough? oh and here's a pic of what it may wind up looking like, some idiot is trying to seel this. it's illigal.
  8. it's not about what u put in....but about what u pull out. all you seem to be pulling out is the buttstock, thats only one imported part. look at some of the thread's in the tech section, it'll be there. oh and about 922r....you're already screwed just by using the high-caps. u might as well convert it. unless u REALLY love the trigger...then talk to battlerifleg3, he has a few tricks up his sleeves. oh, come to think, there already is an adapter plug that lets you use standard folders and other junk on the saiga, a while ago they used to be all over gunbroker. but either they realized t
  9. yeah, funshows are either a steal or they rob u blind. gotta love 'em though, and besides....anybody who doesn't know better....DESERVES to get robbed, well ok maybe not, but u gotta look out for yourself. And to the question of the skeleton stock, YES it is legal, ONLY if u still use the low-cap mags. i wonder if there's a way to use it and move it forward, just like a real tiger stock....and then use U.S. FCG and piston and hand-gaurds to make up for it being imported, because really, the "dragunov" stocks they make in the U.S. have been somewhat pathetic, unless it's a custom from battle
  10. don't like the smell of this guy, take a look at his profile, all his posts are about illigal mods to the saiga rifle, ie....922r being the main one and now full auto? seems to be on the lazy side too, doesn't care to do things properly, looking for "slap-together" parts that alter the sporting saiga. either really nieve and misguided, or just somebody who i'm not too proud to have as a fellow arms lover. don't get me wrong, i'd love to LEGALY own full auto ak's but i don't care to be lumped with people who seem to be aimed in an odd direction. dunno, or maybe it's just me being paranoid.....b
  11. i really like one of Tromix's krink .308 saiga he did, he just cut it, looked cool.
  12. have fun in jail....keep the soap handy. unless of course you happen to be a dealer building a dealer sample with proper paperwork...yada yada yada.....that being said, depends, NO it's not the same, diff trigger, diff selector lever, the reciever has to be changed somewhat and need some small metal parts that are available almost everywhere, oh, and some changes to the rails, but i'd stay the F*** away from any parts. it's one thing to buy a parts kit surplus akm and make sure THEY keep the full-auto parts, smell funny but explainable, but good luck explaining a seperate billing from a selle
  13. personaly have nothing against your saiga.....and what u do is none of my biz, but rule number one is COVER YOUR ASS, posting pics of illigal guns(unless u live outside the states) is somewhat of a liability...just because u assume nobody in the room is gay doesn't mean it's good advice to drop your pants and bend over....trust me, yah never know when and how but anything that can be used against you WILL be used, it's just a matter of when.
  14. dude.......SWEET RIFLE...i just picked up a bulgy krink kit in 5.45 from of all places, some one in california....for 562.00 SHIPPED. unfired, but this is awsome. a 7.62 saiga krink...u know there are some things that well....are legendary, that would be it.
  15. yeah, i'm planning on gold plating the face u see and not touching the moving parts. i have to nickel plate the thing first, i'll post pics as soon as i'm done. i have polished an entire double barrel before to look just ss...but rust IS an issue...so yeah plating or coating is a must.
