  1. This has been on my mind for quite some time and this post gave me incentive to actually check up on it. I did a search on this as well and came across this article. It about sums up what I will be doing next week.
  2. Yeah, I too have been thinking about investing in reloading....but the brass seems to be the "gotcha", as in where to get it reasonable and even at all. Fortunately I have recently acquired a couple thousand rounds of SA .308 in the battle packs. But since I don't plan on shooting much of it specifically, it doesn't help me for some reasonably priced some plinking ammo. ($$$$) But that's with out the brass cost, no? Which even if you have it, it needs to be replaced every 4-6th time you reload it, correct?
  3. To be frank with you...at that price an strength and manufacture concerns, I'm really starting to think I will ante up for the ACE stock's or just keep it simple with something like this. this Butt stock...not bad for a US made stock for $20 if it will fit. Best part is I am not forced into buying the pistol grip that I don't want. http://akpartskits.com/store/product_info....8c516b89966622e I haven't heard on if anyone has used this stock though or read any reviews, but for the price it seems like it'll work. 4. So will these work on our Saiga's? Sure seems like you can adress several items all at one time. If nothing else, I am thinking about grabbing one to put on WASR 5.45x39 to address it's canted site's. http://akpartskits.com/store/product_info....8c516b89966622e Or this Butt stock...not bad for a US made stock for $20 if it will fit. 5. Any one use this stock? Thoughts, Reviews ect?? Not a folder but seems like it could be pretty dang nice from the picture. CAA AK47 Collapsible Stock with Interchangeable Cheek Piece Item Number: FSAKC6Unit Price: $62.99 http://www.dsarms.com/prodinfo.asp?number=FSAKC6 Or how about this AK47/74 Four Rail System Handguard Set Item Number: FSLHV47SEThttp://www.dsarms.com/prodinfo.asp?number=FSLHV47SET
  6. Agreed! So how do you like that grip? Would you buy it again or try another one? Thx, TOU

    Team Saiga!

Go team. Dude..you're kinda scaring me a bit.
  8. I was watching for this with interest, but I'm having a hard time with the thought of spending $250 on an adapter and sight on my $250 rifle. Think I may get a bit more serious about the dust cover sights if I decide need them later.
  9. I'm still learning about these little Saiga's but love'em so far. I thought this was kinda cool link on the tool kits. http://www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/toolkit.htm
  10. Interesting that you should post this...over the past couple of days I was thinking of just something like this EXCEPT one that is mounted on the side mounts of our Saiga's. You could then add anything you wanted including flip up sights as well as scopes, holosights ect. You could also easily take the standard cover off and on at will. So......???? Duh....I was thinking something like this one that of Tapco's that was posted by counter_sniperf on the .308 photo thread. Allot of metal just to add a rear sight....and it's still not back as far as I'd like it. At least you can remove the
  11. Not necessarily, I think it depends on whatcha got. I think this may have been inspired by a proposed and accepted trade on my part. Excellent to deal with so far. Exactly...my Saiga's will proudly be sporting a few of these shortly. Thx MMA
  12. You last two...nice simple conversions with the ACE stock. So...how bad was it in your opinon, to convert the rear trunion to accept the ACE? Would you do it again?

  14. Just bought my 19" via a referral from someone on this sight for $435 + $15 shipping + $15 FFL fee. It was the best I could find after looking for 3 months.
  15. I too would be very interested as I have similar on my Daewoo DR-200 which is by far my favorite 5.56. It's a great concept/application that I wish more rifles had. So are you thinking S-12's only or developing something for rifles as well? What kind of price point? Cheers, TOU
  16. Excellent, thank you. I would like to try 3 of these, please PM me the details. Thx, TOU
  17. Just a quick question...a few weeks back I saw a member selling inexpensive bird cage type flash suppressors. After a few searches here, I'll be danged if I can find that thread again. Appreciate any direction! Thx, TOU
  18. I too have been thinking about this quite a bit lately. I spoke with one gentleman who is builds a fair amount and he said that these covers eventually settle in to the same place after they break in. Basically saying that accuracy wasn't the big issue you might think. (Besides, these are not match rifles ect.) Also...that the HK sights are designed for .308 and 9mm and that might be a bit of a problem on a rifle. (Not a big deal on a shottie) That all said, I can not understand why there is not some kind of hinged dust cover itself with the rail and or sights. Maybe hinged in conjunction with
  19. EACTLY!!!...me too. (Thx FBMG) Yepper! Isn't that the truth. I bought another x39 and .223 before I even finished acquiring parts for the first conversions. I too have at least one in every Saiga caliber except the .410...all seven are in carbine lengths. ...I don't want to talk about it.
  20. I've looked at and handled both....I personally lean to the Tromix or maybe RedJacket. I'm not a purist though if you just have to have as close to OEM Galil. The reality though is it still isn't OEM Galil. So for me if I was spending that kind of money, I would pay to have Red Jacket or Tromix converted of the high quality modern Saiga's. Oh...and since I'm not a purist, I would then add the G3 sights while I was at it. JMHO

    Price check

Hmm, $100 for 140 rounds of SA is waaay overpriced. You can probably buy US name brand ammo for nearly that price. Another reminder that an $80-$100 8lb keg of powder gets around 1000 rounds loaded (on the lower end of velocities), 1000 remy 165 soft points are about $120, and 1000 primers are about $20. Considering your brass gets reused multiple times (say about $20 of use per 1000 loads), and you're looking at $260 for custom configured ammo with quality hunting bullets that better match the bbl's twist rate. (do it yourself of course) vs steel cased wolf FMJ. You can go cheaper if you
