  1. yanking the charging handle would be fine i just wanted some verification the rifle was dry. once you drop in a new mag you need to pull the bolt back to catch the first round anyway. I guess it's a moot point but i dunno...i was just feeling for answers thanks
  2. So 64 looks but no responces? Could the hold open people are using on the 12's work for the .308's?
  3. Has anyone modified their S308 to stick open on an empty magazine? I'm pretty sure the S 12's are so is the technology transferrable? I'm interested in this weapon being my primary MBR but it MUST have an ABHO. Help?
  4. Either of you two got a link to this Docter? It's difficult for me to not spell it "doctor"
  5. Wouldn't that be the best option for conversion? They have NO lips and are slid in directly so that would allow you to manufacture/weld/grind on or off whatever was needed to lock into the Saiga. Are the AR10 mags scarce and expensive or something? I really want some hicaps but i really can't see spending 45 bucks a pop :'( I could buy several boxes of ammo for that and further breakin my rifle (feed my addiction) help?
  6. Just stopped by...i'm doing it again. I know addicts that behave better than I....hopefully it's just because my "problem" is legal...hopefully.
  7. Google it...has it been around for a while? If so my take is that if nobody has heard of it, there must be a reason
  8. Also, I'm under the impression that exceeding 150 grains on the bullet is a mistake. The round will then exert too much force on the back of the reciever when the bolt cycles. Someone more credible want to back me up or disagree here?
  9. Does ANYBODY make one that coves the whole gas system? I want one that's as long as the gas tube.
  10. I find myself "slipping away" to handle my new Saiga. When i'm alone I walk with my arms in such a way as to mimic carrying the battlerifle in a "low ready" position. I find myself randomly practicing counting bangs as I walk through stores in my head...bang...bangbang.. ..bang.... .bang...bang bang bang...bang ~reload~ (that way when the rifle cycles the last round it loads the first round out of the next magazine. Having modified my factory 8 rounder into a 10 rounder i could not resist the urge to take it to the backporch and blast away a bit for "test firing" Tonight i was headed to
  11. ah.. ok...bummer. I was under the impression that was a link to a scout mount or something like the Ultimak that mounts over the gas tube. Thanks anyway.
  12. Yes..has anyone done this or can verify that the gas tube is indeed the same diameter?
  13. so did that site close since this was posted or do you have a new link?
  14. Picked up my new 16" S308 a few days ago. The action seems a tiny bit sticky... is there a break-in process? I've been told there was for the AR's but i'm assumng the ak's are "plug and play" at any rate..seems perfectly battleworthy besides the lo cap magazines. The girlfriend refuses to shoot "that big one" cuz it looks like it'll hurt...but she looks cute shootin the xd45Tac. With a little more practice she'll look sexy shooting it and HITTING THE TARGET!...poor thing punched two holes outta about 30 rounds :S Basically wanted to jump in and anounce the new addition to my arsenal and
